Hi! I am glad to see and hear from you. I live in the Eastern Hemisphere, the Black Sea, Crimea. We have already started preparing for the spring season.
I agree with you on the Floret comment. Her flowers don’t go over well for the everyday customers at our flower shop. Some men coming in to pick flowers say they look old and not fresh. They do have a place but they don’t work for me. I love your videos! I know it takes extra time and energy to film but I hope you keep it up this year because I need more growing inspiration! 😍
I love this! Thank you for all of the helpful info. I'm in San Diego and praying the rain (atmospheric river) doesn't rot the ranunculus that should start blooming next month. We shall see! Also, I start a lot of seedlings and people always ask me about grow lights. I basically say there is no "One Light to Rule Them All." Glad to hear you've found the same. Oh, and we have gotten somewhat used to wildfires, but in the past six months, we've had hurricanes and tornados....
Love gardeners workshop but unfortunately they don't ship to Canada. I'm in zone 4 Ontario and experimenting with winter sowing in trays bupleurum and Bells of Ireland.
We got between 50-150cm of snow here in Nova Scotia this weekend, I wish we could send you some 😂😂. But it’s been unseasonably warm here too. Should be -20 here in mid February but it’s closer to -10 at night and 0 during the day.
Have you ever purchased seeds from Happy Green Shop in the UK? This was my first time and it took a month and a half, but I purchased 15 seed packages, got 5 free for a cost of $19 CAD after exchange! Great germination rates and they have some really cool varieties. I am in the Fraser Valley.
Oh my gosh! So excited to hear a similar opinion about Floret Flowers. I loved seeing Erin look so happy in her video. But the flowers, the colors looked kind of dingy to me. And I'm someone who likes the muted colors. But not these. I can't imagine those making me happier than the Queen series of zinnias. I I did purchase one pack of Bee's Choice Dahlia seeds from Floret because I'm curious to see what will pop up. But that was $20 (with shipping) for one packet of 25 seeds.
You are wise to emphasize what works and not get frazzled by too diverse a growing program. I did not find your Floret comment snarky. Erin's current focus, at the expense of what used to be great about Floret, is just disappointing.
