The Dolomites, also known as the Dolomite Mountains, Dolomite Alps or Italian Alpi Dolomitiche. It’s a mountain group lying in the eastern section of the northern Italian alps, very close to the Austrian border. They extend through the provinces of Belluno, Bolzano, Trento, Udine and Pordenone and were declared a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2009.
The range comprises a number of impressive peaks, 18 of which rise to more than 10,000 feet (3,050 metres).
The most popular activities during summer time are: To hike and climb the mountains, go to the emerald color lakes swim and rent a boat while enjoying the incredible mountain range.

During winter time, the most common thing to do is to ski. There is a town that is very famous for it “Cortina d’Ampezzo”. If you don’t know how to ski, don’t worry… there are multiple ski schools 😅.
Also, you can rent a sled from one of the stores in town and find a nice hill to go sledding.
This area has a very Christmas ambiance to it and there are multiple Christmas markets with tasty mulled wine, delicious pastries, dried meats, and fresh cheeses.
It’s definitely a special experience that could be enjoyed by anyone anytime of the year.
