I love watching you fill up the journal, everything is so beautiful. I remember when my daughter went away to college, it was a five hour drive up and back. Broke my heart when she left, took me a long time to get use to her being gone. She came home for a bit after college but she got married about a year later and moved away for about five years, broke my heart again. She and her hubby and daughter moved back to town and bought a house three minutes away and I am a very happy momma. I can see her daily if I want, we are business partners and best friends and we help her with her daughters since her husband recently passed away. Life changes in a blink of an eye. Hang in there, it’s ok to cry and miss her. Hugs! 🤗💕🤗

It’s such a wonderful opportunity you two have provided for Lulu. It will so rewarding to watch grow in confidence as she explores her new world. The journals are gorgeous. I love the staggered pages. I love when you make the more flippy layered ephemera. I have a special playlist for Rachel’s Specials so I won’t loose them. 😊

Thankyou Rachel. I appreciate the effort you make to create with us tagging along. I know the empty nester syndrome well, 4 years and still an ordeal most weeks. But, I am mostly enjoying my time for me now. I am really loving these Italian Ladies journals. I will probably get to do these journals next year though. My word, this year is going so quickly. My baby grand-daughter is turning 3 early Dec. I can't believe how fast it's gone and what I've achieved, this year in particular. A lot of firsts. Looking forward to your next video. 😀

Lovely to hear that Lulu is settled and you all are adjusting. I know that when my daughter left home I bawled, quite inconsolable and she was only leaving home, not even moving town. Once you realise that they are coping, then thriving, you can give yourself a pat on the back for doing such a great job giving them the tools they need to be an adult. Will look forward to some great crafting projects ahead, as you keep busy.😘👍🌏

When my youngest left for college, I was a basket case for about a week. Lol. We taught him well, and now he lives and works in another state. You'll get used to it, Rachel . I don't get to see him as often as I would like, but he calls me, and I'm happy with that. 🙂♥️

I completely understand your “empty nest” syndrome. I had 3 children and went thru it every time one left , but that is part of life. I think this is a beautiful journal.😍

Rachel, glad that it is going well and Lulu loves university. I do not know how you do it, speak and craft, I would be making mistakes. I just love the journals you make, works of art. At Christmas I will send you a photo your journal, 1940's typewriter and 1940's phone on my fireplace mantle. Big hugs Rachel.

Thanks for the update on Milan and Lulu. Did we see the document journals finished? You have so many projects on the go! I like these lady journals and honestly loved everything you put back into the box. Hi Rachel, the Italian ladies journals are looking fabulous! I understand how you feel about Lulu, I have a now 30 yr old and I still worry about him as if he were still young! 😅 The only difference is that now he worries about me and wants to take care of me. 😂 it'll get easier, just give yourself grace and it's okay to be emotional about it. She's your baby and always will be no matter how old she gets or where she goes! TFS 😊

My poor hubby did not know what to do with me when my last little birdie left the nest. I only had two, but when the first one left I still had one to look after so that helped. But, oh when he got married I ugly cried. My goodness, us moms spend our lives investing into those babies and we grow them up and work ourselves right out of a job. I just got my first grand baby so it is quite interesting to see them investing their lives into growing her up. I think they are starting to understand the real work of parenting. Hang in there, spend time focusing on you. A little pampering goes a long way. It’s such a weird concept for us mama’s. We are so used to giving all of ourselves away.

I understand. I have two married children and I cry when they left. Good that where we stay, we are only 45mins away. They come home for dinner often.

I have 3 children. The two oldest are gone and married and I have a 21 year old at home but will be gone soon. And Im trying to find myself since they are all gone but I still long for the days they were home. The best medicine is to keep busy! Remain focused and dont dwell on all of it. You will make it!

It is so hard when our babies go to college. I had a hard time at first but once I realized she was happy, it got easier! Her favorite thing to tell me is adulting is hard.

I must go back and find where you made some of that ephemera... so delicious... Love these journals, they are just gorgeous... Good on Lulu for expanding her horizons... Hubby and I had to move out of the house, our kids weren't going anywhere... 😄😍 we bought a unit and the kids took over the running of the house, four children that is... two have moved on and the other two with plus one's are still in the house... they all still get on really well... Cheers for sharing... 💜

These are stunning journals. ❤ you and hubby have empty nest syndrome, it is hard but it gets better as time goes on. Your nest will fill up on the special occasions like Christmas etc. And you will be overwhelmed with excitement. 😊❤
