Welcome to episode 16 of the Italian motorcycle trip we made in 2023. More mountains, some offroad during the sunset and other interesting stuff including meeting a bunch of locals on old Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Yep, they made me want to ride my evo again. But with all seriousness it's nowhere close with comfort touring wise with modern bikes. So even they looked ace I would choose the beemer for touring all day long, so I will rather stick to my plan to keep it for short distance fun.

I’m in awe at your ability to just deal with so many detours… I’m afraid that I’d just be having a swearing shouting match with Google maps…🤣🤣 It’s continuing to be a brilliant series of your experience in Italy… in fact, it’s smashing!! 🤗🤪😁😁😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Well, there's not much you can do really as all the navigations have even worse issues. The problem was that we were choosing the smallest b roads possible and those roads are not in the high maintenance state. Meaning yes, they were still making the repairs but without the priority which results in the road being closed for a bit longer than it should. On top of that often something collapsed, thanks to ground stability, earthquakes etc. which doesn't help. Those roads don't have enough traffic to inform Google fast enough about the closures, so here's the outcome. So nothing you can do about it other than choosing the main roads, which is not my thing really... But anyway why being angry when you are on holidays on your motorcycle...

A great record of your adventure. Like the relaxed attitude to road closures. The village perched high up on it's own looked amazing, I need to get a camera with a zoom like yours, impressive 👍 Did that cruiser you passed at 10:10 have a car tyre on the front 😮 ?

That zoom is pretty useful for storytelling isn't it? The tyre was an old school shinko motorcycle tyre but it looks like a car one. And it's nowhere close to modern tyre performance anyway
