Even though Efren "Bata" Reyes is 68 years old & still actively play in the professional high level. He will still be remembered as one of the greatest pool player on the planet. He can play carom shot. He can play bank shot. He can play super hard shot and he can also play in such a pressure. That is the pool legend that we want. God Bless whoever like this comment. PS: From Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
All hail the humble, respectful Gentleman Magician! The Greatest Of All Time! "You have to practice. You have to practice how to win." Words of wisdom. True of anything in life you desire to succeed in! Shout out to Joe Rogan, who (I'll bet) watches this video.
@@Z0MBM0Z most definitely his longevity and just in his true prime dude wouldn’t lose if he truly didn’t want to lose. But he was such a showman with great sportsmanship he’d shoot the crazy shots in big tournaments and a lot of the times make them and just wow everyone. He’s fucking awesome

Nice Efren shot on the eight, that carom pool knowledge comes in really handy sometimes. I actually think that is a TREMENDOUS part of Efren's strengths, it sure makes for some crazy safeties from safed position shots. And some of his magical shooting. He wasn't a pinnacle level pro in three cushion, but he was a very good one. The only US stick and table game of his that he wasn't number one in the world at, sometimes for long periods. Always the favorite of mine to watch, and he's still playing one pocket, happily, still producing magic there, and still VERY competitive there, still winning pro circuit tournaments. His shooting isn't what it once was anymore due to age and health, but again, his KNOWLEDGE keeps him pinnacle level in one pocket, the thinking man's stick and table game! Your title is pretty click baity, though, given the interview of the Italian beforehand. The day Efren quits playing professional pool will be a sad day for me, indeed. A true master of the sport, and a great guy from EVERYTHING that I have heard. He didn't get voted favorite player by the league more than once for nothing. Efren would have still had a good shot if it hadn't hit the point, BTW, but yeah, considering that it DID hit it, it came out near perfect. I could really live without the laugh track, but otherwise, fun to watch. Tactical games are always the best, why I like watching him, and other greats, play one pocket so much. A few excellent answers to some sticky shots Efren presented the Italian. From this video it looks like he actually played pretty well, at least until he started making careless mistakes. That three railer on the four to the side pocket didn't do him any favors, either.
I’ll never understand how you can watch someone display a lifetimes worth of poise and tactical precision under ANY level or pressure 🙄 and still believe you will beat them like they’re not even a living being. Insane
One of the critical things I've noticed, from watching Efren, is that his shots vary in speed. Some are hard and fast, others are slowed to table speed, and others are just nudged. Oh, the nuances of great play.
Seen Petroni play, even got shots with him and he can say he won 4 games against the GOAT.😆 In the open I played in Souquet lost to Bustamente in the final.
When a pool player gets older, why is it harder for them to win? It could be their vision degrades, but what else could it be? Is memory a factor? I don't understand why age matters in this sport.
The vision definitely. Also they can lose their power on the break which allows them to pocket more balls on the break making it easier to run racks. Also maybe arthritis creeps in and makes it more difficult to play. Also you are playing against players 1/3 your age who are young and hungry and full of energy.
This is to clarify everything there is to know. You can't give a problem to the problem itself.... meaning EFREN is giving you the problem. He is your big super duper bigger than life all time problem. Infact he will show solutions. Bottomline: He is the teacher hehehe
