Thank you! I hoped it would billow just like that when I made those crazy skirts - I'm so glad it was captured on video!

I wish I could have captured the sound! It was a wonderful soft billowing sound, but too faint for the microphones to catch!

We didn't usually draw much attention in our historical clothes, but this billowing skirt certainly caught people's eyes!

This is fascinating! At 2:30 I realized... the painter probably stood on the brick bridge you’re walking past, and a wooden platform stretching from the side you’re on to the other was likely constructed around where the steps down to the gondolas is now! The curve of buildings disappearing in the background matches, as does the pale cream building (now with arched windows) on the right where, in the painting, a large crowd disappears in the square. In the painting there’s a path on the left and on the right most of the buildings are on the edge of the canal, and the same is true in this shot. It’s so cool do see almost the same exact perspective as the original artist! I feel like he most have been standing on that bridge you pass at the 2:30 mark. This is so cool!

It's possible! It's also possible that layouts and bridges and such have changed over 500+ years! But it's pretty wild to be able to get to the same basic identifiable spot. I love venice!

Dames a la Mode It truly is amazing that Venice can change and evolve over hundreds of years, yet you can find the exact location of a painting that’s hundreds of years old and recognize it as the location in the painting. This was so cool!

Beautifully shot! I've been to Venice once around the same time as year as you and even in the colder months it's still so stunning!

As always, just beautiful! The scenery, the ppl stopping to photograph you all and of course ...the gowns ! Not forgetting your inspiration, its was painted in such fine detail so you can build upon your own creation . How can we not be even mildly jealous..?

Thank you! I usually put a little more effort into things, but this style ended up being so simple that it worked out well for me! I'm glad I didn't let myself get bogged down in lots of research!

Thank you so much! There are so great dresses in that painting! It's really large in person, too, so you can see a ton of details!

What a magical experience! Thank you for sharing it with us. Also, this is unrelated to the video content, but your eyes almost exactly match the color of the canal water in the shot when you're in the gondola at the beginning of the video.

Glorious! Thank you so much for sharing - I wonder, having watched you walk with your overskirt billowing about, whether the original lady would have gathered the excess over one arm (if walking in such a breeze!). Fun thoughts watching history being reenacted!

*finding the actual bridge* Yeah, well we Euros tend to keep stuff that is beautiful and old. ;-) Beautiful shots and that billowing overskirt ...💛
