@@JamesDio-yu5yd That’s your perspective! You can’t force entire world into something you want.Humans have evolved from hunting and eating animals. He has a legacy and he is proud of his craft. Every culture has a way of life, it’s important for them.
I met Mr. Dario on our honeymoon in Panzano 15 years back. He still seems to carry the same charm as he did when he offered me and my wife a glass of Chianti years back. Mark, been a fan and will say your videos are inspiring. Thank you.
WhenDario was sharing his beautiful artwork and reason for being, tears came to my eyes. His passion shines through his face and words, God Bless him.❤❤❤
Mark, I’ve been watching your channel from day one, and although I rarely comment I just had to today as this video was the ONLY video that has made me cry! Not in a sad way but a compassionate and touching way! Dario moved me compassion for the animals to raise them in the best environment possible, which was n turn provides the best quality of protein for humans. And his love and ownership of his purpose in life is amazing. Thank you for sharing your platform to gift us with this segment.
Thats exactly what happend to me, that video was truly beautiful everything from the speech at the beginning to the gift of the apron. I believe that Dario has found his way in life and absolutely enjoys it, which you can see in the way he runs the restaurant and interacts with his guests. And on the funny side....I have never seen Mark laugh as much as in this video. The italien charm seems to be contagious or maybe it was the chianti ....we will never know ;-)
I wish my mom was alive to see these Italian episodes. She was Italian and very proud of her heritage, she would have enjoyed this. And that steak look amazing. ❤🥩😋
Chef Dario & his restaurant is atronomical!! The quality of the beef is exquisite!! The hospitality & service is phenomenal!! What a episode!! Chefs like Dario makes me feel like humanity is overall amazing!! Cheers to Mark, Mr. Taster & guest!! Salud!! 🥩🍷
Dario was such a joyful and loving human being. What a wonderful time he gave you Mark and everyone else that was there. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video!
I live in Atlanta but have been to Dario’s three times to eat, and four or five times in the morning just to buy meat. Dario is naturally an outgoing, enthusiastic, friendly, and passionate man. He makes the simple act of buying sausage, beef, or his Tuscan Butter (flavored lard) an absolute joy! In response to other comments, so what if his message is the same as it was in 2007? I take that as a measure of his consistency, honesty, sincerity, and unchanging heartfelt passion. One thing to note about this video: there is a lot of loud chatter and laughter in the background. That’s the way things have been whenever I have been there. Not commented upon in the video is the fact that most of the people sitting at those tables were probably complete strangers, often from different parts of the world, when they arrived. However, because of the convivial atmosphere created by Dario and his staff, everyone leaves as if they are close friends, even if they don’t share a common language. Yes, there are a few places in Tuscany where you can get a great steak at a lower price. However, you’re not going to have the electric, fun, convivial atmosphere that you’ll experience at Dario’s steak place. You also won’t get five other beef courses in addition to two primal cut steak courses, olive oil cake (delicious!), and unpretentious but perfect local Chianti included in the price. I say “bah humbug” to the “bah humbuggers” who have a gripe with Dario!
The absolute respect between this butcher and the animal is truly one of a kind and inspirational...what a speech...im at a loss for words...simply...amazing
Mark has to be the most likeable and enthusiastic foodie on the Internet.. when have you ever seen him not smiling? Some people just get lucky onbtheir channels, but Mark really works hard, travels many many miles, and produces amazing content. Brilliant!! Thanks Mark for making so many people happy!
he certainly works a lot when it comes to "looking" positive, smiley and over the top reactions, when he first started out, he didn't do that, that's why he deleted those early videos, to seem authentic when he in fact isn't.
One restaurant videos aren’t always my favourites, but honestly this one was a joy from start to finish. Dario Cecchini’s energy was so contagious! Also I love Mr. Taster’s glasses, absolutely iconic!
I’ve been enjoying your videos for years, and this was the first one that touched me so much that I cried. He was absolutely a gem. Thank you for sharing your time with us. It was more than just the food clearly would’ve been an amazing experience.
Mark what a great video. Everyone is so friendly! The whole trip would be worth it to just to see Dario. His smile, kindness and hospitality was everything. Not to leave out the other beautiful people there. Thank you for sharing this ❤❤
What an incredible time you shared to us. So emotional, amazing butcher and all the friendship we can feel. Stay as you are Mark Wiens, always a pleasure to feel the happiness you have eating, happy new year ❤
@@NEPALESE.AMERICANevery country has negative and positive things. for sure my country has the best food, culture, arts, technology, specialists, products,in the world. unfortunately the politics is the very bad side of italy
@@NEPALESE.AMERICANNope it's the truth, that's why it's top 5 in tourist and has been for centuries, plus has the #1 history and probably romanticized, written and talked about by famous writers than any other country.
Bella Italia, sempre nel mio cuore! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 Thank you Mark for showing once again the beauty of this region and its people, which shows in the quality of their food!
who else is sick of mr taster and jeff merrihue. mr taster just shows up with a funny haircut and glasses and im supposed to be entertainined over and over?
Italian people so nice and wonderful.. food and the street building everything so beautiful..i stayed in(( lido di ostia ))..for more then two years Was my happiest days i miss you Italia..
It's an act. He use to have videos of him when he first started youtube. He never smiled and his reactions were never over the top, like they are now. It looks like he's taken them down. Wouldn't want any proof that he's acting for the camera.
Mark this video is unremarkable The respect and love Dario has for the animal is divine. He is a beautiful person!!! For his treasure of the beef and people. This video is unremarkable !!! The fun and enjoyment you had from start to finish is awesome. It is wonderful to see Jeffrey and Mr Taster with you!! This has to be one of my favorites.Thank you!!💕😋🙂🥂
Mark I love going on these journey with you. But Mr Dario is the blessed beam I ever looked at. Because old man's supposed to talk like Mr Dario and show The compassion of what he does in life and he has it. Mr Dario made me change my mind of going to a European country. I want to thank him and most of Walmart I think you're beautiful you never let me down you. You go Man.
Wow what a special moment at the end when Dario gave you his apron and signed it for you. Wow what an Honor man. That man seems so Genuine. People like him who loves what he does and does it with happiness and Love every single day like that is a rare rare gift to the world and he is awesome. 🥩 😎👍🏽
I agree with Mark, what a Happy man, Mr. Dario! He made my heart so full of joy and happiness! God Bless you! Thank you Mark for sharing these amazing videos!
Another legend that has been under the radar. Almost 70, I hope he gets showered with love. I realized in the 90's that people would eventually be immortalized on the internet. Of course creators are now part of that, but this is what I really suspected would happen. The reason Mark makes great content is because he scours the earth to expose them at a high level. He's not the first, nor the last, but it's a great journey.
@@bigstrawberry4552 that depends, it’s hard to compare. I love both in their own way, but the Chianina beef in Tuscany, I prefer it over Kobe or Miyazaki wagyu beef in Japan. Wagyu is of course superb, but one can only consume a small quantity as it is so rich and fatty. But a Florentine (Chianina) steak? Anytime!
This episode will be the first added to my favorites. Absolutely love this one. Amazing. Would love to meet Dario one day. Wow. Congrats on the apron too!!!
Happy to say his cooking and beef steak I’ve had quite a few times, everybody knows Dario in Tuscany, the guy is a legend, plus as you witnessed a character, he’s like that all the time, not because Mark Weins was eating at his place. Bravo Dario 👌
He reminds me of my dad “ Giovanni” who just passed away at 97 Strong, Exuberant Italian Man, thanks to dad’s Italian diet . A glass of wine 🍷 everyday. Good food , wine, people , laughter n story telling was his lifes’ motto
The part where Mr Dario is describing the painting clearly shows he’s passion ..and brought tears to my eyes watching him describing/explaining it..thank you for showing it MARK :-)❤
What a legend!! Grande Dario Cecchini!! the best butcher in the world. I totally admire this guy. The way he cooks and thinks and shares his knowledge and vision of the world and the food. We should all learn something from him. Eventhough he has a legend status in the culinary world, he's still so friendly and humble. Great video. Congrats guys!👌👌👌
Brava! Buona traduzione! This was a perfect interpretation into English! What a beautiful heartfelt butcher speech! Hey Mark, your storytelling has come a long way. It looks like something out of the Travel Channel these days! 👏👏👏👏
Mark. What an amazing experience with the legend that Dario is. I lived in Napoli for 2 years and traveled to all parts of Italy.....a very special country. But I am envious of your time with Dario- congrats! Love your videos. Mark in SC
What a great scene in the dining room. Nice way to experience the culture, very heart-warming. Dario is such a character. He loves what he does, and it shows. The offering at the end was emotional. A Top 5 video.
That is a very beautiful video to watch. I missed my days in Italy. I regret not fully experiencing Italy in those 2 years but I will definetely come back. Thank you, Mark!
In the 60's, you were nobody until you had a chianti bottle, in which you burned various colored candles so the wax dripped down the sides - it was a rite of passage symbol! What glorious looking cuts of meat - both raw and grilled - I am salivating!
That was beautiful! It warmed my heart to see Mr taster again. Years of friendship in the making. All the laughs with such an amazing host. Awesome video!
To me, the guy is trying to relate to his guests and be more welcoming to them. Meat looks incredible, meals look amazing and delicious, and the guy is providing entertainment just like Salt Bae but less self centered and more relatable
One of my favorite places to eat in Italy! Did you get to try a burger from his food truck nearby? Best burgers I have ever had! I didn’t see the Tuscan white bean soup… they usually serve that too and it was delicious that I remember it more than the meat.
I was there last , last year . With all the traveling i was hungry. I’m 6’3 250 lbs and it’s normal to eat 2-3 lb steaks at home for me. He brought my food and he said here you go 3.4 kg. It came out and I was like oh wow that’s a lot but looks great. Took me an hour to finish and at the end I was like idk why I’m having such trouble eating 3 lbs of beef. He was like haha you’re funny. I was like why? Then he said paisano, that was 3.4 kg not 3.4 lbs lol. Then it all made sense, I stayed in that night at the Westin in Florence sweating and having visions lol
What a nice gift from Dario at the end of the evening. I don't know if you get such memorabilia ooften. But if you do get many you may decorate your house making it kind of a biography of your life or even a museum.
I don’t care much for Italian dishes. That just my taste buds that dictate that. However, I really enjoy watching this episode because everything looks so delicious and appealing. I think a big part of this restaurant is the customer service and the genuine hospitality atmosphere that the owner and staff expressed. It looks more like a family meal more so than a restaurant. Love it.
Beef steak tartare is a traditional European dish, often prepared with fresh and high-quality beef, cut into small pieces and quickly cooked on the stove. This dish is typically served with accompaniments such as french fries, raw vegetables, and a distinctive sauce, creating a delicious and flavorful meal.
What a Beautiful Video!🤩 Bistecca alla Fiorentina with 🍷Vino Chianti it's one's of "The Top Menu" in Italia, Chianti/ Firenze! Compliments, Mark Wiens!🙋🏼♀️🤝💐
It seems to be all about the fame. Chef's from around the world have forgotten about the reason they became a chef in the first place. It's about the young man who worked double shifts so he could take his wife out to a nice restaurant for their first anniversary. Achieving fame is great but keep yourself grounded. With all that being said the food looks amazingly delicious.
Teds market in Maupin Oregon back in the 90s was amazing , old Ted would pick carcasses from great ranches in the central and eastern Oregon area hang them for 29 -30 days , you never tasted so delicious tender beef ! The art of aging beef is key , Ted ! An amazing butcher artist , long gone now , miss you much Ted! God Bless!
This is a good experience. What have been though much more mind bending, when I have been in Italy is the food (yeah the food!!!) on some wineries. A lot of wineries have their own gardens - and (if you ask them nicely!?) they are offering meals. I never had (!!!) in my life better Italian food. Not even in Michelin restaurants (well - it is different food - and it is almost equal)... Incredible.
Nice suggestion! 😂 This is no steak tradition as you know it. I'm pretty sure noone in history ever measured the temps of bistecca in and around Florence!! Exceptional beef is only kissed by flames, and that's how its always been enjoyed there.
As an italian, I have to admit that the Cecchini butchery has become more of a brand than anything else… it’s sad, because if you look up to older videos on youtube, you can see how much passionate and genuine he was… now he’s just saying random phrases that can be captioned on socials or whatsoever… it’s hard to say that but that’s the reality. For sure the quality is impeccable, but you can eat way better in more humble and traditional places in the whole region of Florence. By the way, you have to get clicks, visuals and comments, so the only place to go is Macelleria Cecchini, because it has a worldwide appeal that attracts people from different countries that heard about this place once in their lifetime.
i think this somewhat happens to food places all over the world once it becomes famous and has to "commercialise" to be able to manage the huge number of visitors.
We have a similar situation in Japan as well. They start from humble beginnings, but as they gain fame, the commercial side starts to take over. I see this a lot in the ramen industry.
What do you mean by "you can eat better in more humble and traditional places in the whole region of Florence"? What specific place(s) are you talking about?
I want to meet Dario and eat them steaks. Very real, honest, humble man with such a character and good food. I need to go there now. Mark, love your videos and been a fan since you started, keep up the amazing work as always
