It's not so much an Italian stereotype as a *New York* Italian immigrant caricature. Although exaggerated It's fairly accurate. But Italians speaking English not only do not sound like this, you might not know where they are from elsewhere in Europe or further abroad.

I didn’t even know where to look. He stood with his back to me staring at my sister the entire time, even when I was ordering. 😠 I realise all Italian waiters aren’t like this and it’s a complete stereotype, but for me it’s one that was familiar due to a crappy experience. (Oh, and it’s definitely not just Italian waiters I’ve experienced this with. If only. 😩) You’re gorgeous though so I reckon you would be the one batting them away! 🙂
