This is one of my favourites, I've probably listened to this one over 20 times. Damn, this is such a f**ing good song! I can't imagine how this song would sound with vocals...
@Sjobeck7 Thank you - I've loved Valerie Dore since hearing "The Night" and "Get Closer" when they came out. She was big in Italy back then her songs could be heard everywhere
That Oberheim sound! Just watched several of your videos. So tempted to go drag all my analogues out of storage where they have languished for the past 10 years. Great stuff. Love it.
this is fantastic because you're all 3 for the roles that they are good at. fat leads and bass on the jupiter, lush chords on the oberheim and glassy bells on the dx. I would love to hear this on spotify if it is not already
@FrankNFurter1000 Thank you it's probably the lead sound with portamento on the Jupiter-8 giving that effect that reminds you of Howard Jones, "New Song" has a similar portamento sound
@marcusjknight Thank you - yes, the previous owner had painted them black and also drilled some holes for a keyboard stand. It was not possible to bring the original wood color back so I had them professionally filled in and painted black over.
i've always liked synths and electronic stuff, but just now i'm getting into it. i just can say that this is far the best youtube channel i've ever seen, greetings from chile
LOVELY GREAT YAMAHA DX-7 TUBULAR BELLS BUT JUPITER 8 AND OBERHEIM OBX-A ARE TRULY MAGNIFICENT.LONG LIVE ITALO DISCO STYLE.NEW ROLAND JUPITER 80 CANT COMPETE WITH THIS ROLAND JUPITER 8 EVEN IN THE WILDEST DREAMS.LONG LIVE TRUE ANALOG KING ROLAND JUPITER 8
howard still tours with his jupiter8...it's pretty much his 80's rig with a couple moog prodigy's next to each other, and a couple other vintage synths....i haven't seen what the setup looks like in awhile, but i'm pretty sure he still has the jupiter 8 in there somewhere!
@ZwamTek Eventually I plan to re-record all these songs properly with a good mixing console and effects, and release an album... my problem is time right now.
Either the Roland TR-808 or the LinnDrum of course, it depends on the genre you would like to make. I have the 808 myself, and the various sounds of it that can be edited for the greater part, makes it one seriously versatile machine. Be prepared to (have it) service it, as it is 35 years old by now. I replaced all electrolytic caps on mine, as well swapped one broken pot and desoldered all slide switches from the PCB, took them apart and cleaned all small parts in them. I also switched the transformer tap from 220V to 240V. Now, it works great! That recognizable powerful analog sound... now I know why these prices have gone so dramatically up from machines like this!
Awesome! Also question. Can you recommend me a drum machine thats not going to kill me on price. I would like some thing less than 200 bucks because after that I might as well just get a korgmicrosampler.
You are Italo-Mozart, thnks for let me see at work. Authentic analog (100%?) oldschool, mid 80's sound, remember many classic tracks. Not just "demo-improve" here, album release?
Alloha.. well thats an amazing dreamset of the great analog sysnths.. My Obi is also powerfull..one of the best things of my life..never sell that amazing gear... great trac..greetings andy
I just bought the Jupiter 8, but some of the presets have been lost. Do you have a link to the wav file so I can upload them? I'd really appreciate it. Take care, Sam.
Обожаю это видео! Звук здесь похож на класссическое итало-диско: Karl Olivas - Follow Me I love this video! The sound is similar to the classsic Italo: Karl Olivas - Follow Me
