The Morphagene is a powerful tool for iterative composition. In some ways it is like having a mid-twentieth century tape music studio housed in your modular synthesizer, but with the potential for instantaneous editing.
In this video, we cover capturing "snapshots" of patch development, replaying and overdubbing.

Mint! I had a plan today to put some sounds I've been working on through Morphagene, and to be honest it turned out shite and left me a bit pissed off. This has cheered me up though, and given me a new angle for tomorrow, so cheers! ✌️🔊👍

Very interesting! I like this approach quite a lot. The concept of a sampler that is almost diametrically opposed to grid-based beat making is such a makenoise concept. I really hope some version of this gets turned into a companion to the 0-Coast.

Does the recording into a new splice start when I release the rec button or when I press the splice button? Do the recorded splice loops automatically stay in sync with the rest of the system if the recordings are triggered in sync?

I was trying this the other week but had trouble making a sampled-loop in the same time as the original patch. Should clock-in eliminate any human error with timing (i.e. not pressing rec at the right time)?

If you press REC before the clock comes in, it will start right when the clock comes in. It can't compensate for you pressing REC AFTER the clock comes in though, no time travel involved :P Still, the Clock input can definitely tighten recording time when playing along with your original patch. In fact I was originally going to include a Steve Reich-style layering in this video, where the recording and the sequence gradually went out of phase, but the recordings made using the clock input were too well-timed for it to work :) - W

MAKEN0ISE You could make the morphagene travel back in time a few seconds by buffering audio from the last clock. When rec is pressed late start the splice from there. DeLorean-mode
