The human soul, from Adam to the present day, tends towards perfection in all aspects of life. However, what a person deems worthy of perfection is what determines whether it is for evil or for good. For example he may think that wealth is the path to perfection, so he may becomes spiteful, envious, and selfish in order to get what he wants...and he may create another definition of perfection that connects him to what is praiseworthy. It is true what I said that (this tendency toward perfection) only occurs before death and then stops However when you die you'll regret the time you didn't used wisely..
If we as humans don't kill ourselves and the planet first, then it might be taken to other planets if we are able to, and then what has happened to the earth will happen to those planets. This should be able to be stopped, but "how" is the big question.
It is defo an interesting topic, Humans ambition to want more, definitely an anthropological question. Have you ever considered whether it is a Human Universal though? You may find in other cultures that there is less of a focus on 'having the most' or 'wanting more' in a material sense. In saying this, it begs the question, what does one mean when they say 'its never enough'? As there are many factors in life that could not be enough. Personal Experiences? Wealth? Influence? Friends and Family? it may be that some cultures put an emphasis on one factor of life than the other. I can see why you considered the thought haha
