The four by E is a good option, but what I would like to see for towing is the smaller hurricane straight six that will make this truck a beast

I think with a larger longer range battery with the small 4banger, will be fantastic for cityand traffic and the little offroad I will do

I would prefer the eco diesel. The electric option won't be doing any overlanding.

What we actually want is a 6.2 not a plug-in toy.

I wonder what it’s like to have such cool ideas for cars and then always blow it on the execution. People want the hurricane, and the hemi option for these.

The Gladiator will most likely use the same engine setup as the JL 4xe, although I wouldn't be surprised if BOTH get a battery upgrade- nothing monumental, just a 2nd-gen version. The GC 4xe is rated to tow 6000lb, the JT shouldn't be any heavier, and has cooling and stability for 7500, so it should at least do the 6000lb tow rating.

Where exactly do you charge this at? Tesla EV chargers don't work. I would prefer the 392 JT with Dana 60 axles over this. Come on Stellantis. I am having rocker arm and lifter problems with my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon at 74Km, and it has to do with the oil change interval, and the oil recommended. EPA standards are stupid laws, forcing manufacturers to make engines lighter with thinner cylinders, pistons, use thinner oils, that will not preform in our Canadian winter climate.

phev as expected, combines the worst of both worlds. An small battery powering complicated mechanical parts and a weak engine with dead weight when battery is low.

Nobody asked for this and very very few people will buy them. Ford lost 1.2 billion in the first quarter of 2024, mainly because of their EV line up.
