I’ve been using the Beauty of Joseon Eye Cream all over my face for about a month now, in conjunction with my beloved Finacea (15% Azelaic Acid prescription) and I’m shocked with how good my skin looks (acne prone gal over here). Today, an older gentleman thought I was my husband’s daughter! 😂 I guess my anti-aging skin care routine is working! 😂
So glad this combo is working for you - albeit a bit awkward for your hubby 😂 Can I ask how you layer these products? Azelaic often pills for me, especially pure form, and I often end up looking like a frantically erased maths equation 😭
@@EzraSproutsI use the Azelaic Acid in the mornings, after an essence or serum (currently using an essence cause of the warmer weather) and sunscreen afterwards. Very simple routine. Had AA pilling in the past when I was using the Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid, however Finacea and a 10% AA serum I also tried don’t make me pill. Have you tried waiting for all your skin care layers to dry completely before and after AA, including the AA? (I know it’s time consuming 😣) or maybe simplify the routine you use AA with, using less products?
@RafaellaSchumann Thank you so much for replying, much appreciated! Thought you meant you layered the retinal eye cream with azelaic, apologies - but those tips are helpful too! I use Geek&Gorgeous aPAD, or occasionally Paula's which is the main culprit for pilling! My morning routine has a couple more layers than yours, so will try paring it back to see if that helps. Thank you so much!
My most fave retinoids is Adapalene. There is minimal, or probably none study about Adapalene for anti aging, however after using Adapalene for more than 1 year, I do see huge difference on my pores size, my skin elasticity & I also can apply it under my eyes without sensitivity & irritation. The only thing that Adapalene couldn’t really help is to reduce my hyperpigmentation.
@@MadAboutSkin totally agree with you, it’s so underrated. To help fading my hyperpigmentation, I also incorporate niacinamide, tranexamic acid, alpha arbutin & vitamin c derivatives, and all of these ingredients go really well too with Adapalene.
@@lukastemberger I’ve been researching about Tretinoin and tbh I’m still scared to level up from Adapalene to Tret. May I know what percentage did you start with your Tret?
@@R_cccc I also started with the .025 in combination with niacinamide. I did not have harsh reaction. But that was due to dermatologists recommendation that unapply my moisturizer first and start with once or twice a week. Inside that for a month then started using my peptide serum instead of moisturizer for another couple weeks before increasing to 3 times a week. I stayed at three tunes a week for a while, still seeing results, before going to nights a week. I still applied serum first and never experienced the burn. Unfortunately, my derm retired and the new one doesn't take my insurance. Now I'm using the Geek and Gorgeous A-Game 10.
@@MommaOsoIrish67 because I’m still too scared to try Tret, I’m thinking the same as you, alternating Adapalene & Retinal. The Ordinary 0.2% retinal is higher percentage than the G&G 10, if you’re thinking of going higher on your retinal. ‘Go-to’ also has retinal serum that is even higher, at 0.25% fyi.
You are the one who got me using retinaldehyde. My skin has gotten so much better! Congratulations on 615K. I was here when you have a few thousand subscribers.
Using 5 different retinoids: No7 Advanced Retinol 0.3% Complex, RoC Retinol Correxion capsules, The Ordinary 5% granactive retinol in squalane, G&G A-game 10 and MAS Antiageing oil. I actually like all of them. They’re all affordable with clean ingredients. My favorites are MAS retinal (my mature skin loves oils) and No 7 retinol (it includes Matrixyl 3000).
Haha marcel was very much a part of todays video lol.. he's not been well so he's been cuddling with me all day while filming so cat hair will be a feature of the next couple of videos lol.. love x
Hey Rob! 👋 Great video again!! Here's my favorites: Medik8 Crystal Retinal 20 on my face at night, Naturium Retinaldehyde Cream Serum 0.10% on my neck and décolleté, then newly applying Beauty of Joseon Revive eye serum w/ retinal (love it!) and just began using Nécessaire's The Hand Retinol before getting tucked in for the night 🌙 It does dry down matte and somewhat drying, so I layer it with the Isdin 10% Urea Lotion. Then it's perfection 👌 Can't wait for your next video! Byeeeeeeee
Big fan of retinal in general. Also big fan of MAS and really looking forward to the rebrand relaunch. Can’t wait to get my Ultimate collection box in the mail.
I have used the A game 10 for ages and would hate to see my skin without it 😂. Best of luck with the launch tomorrow, hope you are rocked off your feet ❤️
I just moved up to the Retinal 0.2% Emulsion. So far I’ve been using it for about a week and using it 2 days on with 1 day off. The only ‘sensitivity’ I’ve experience is around the crows feet, however, I use the squalane cleanser, the multi-peptide + copper serum, then the aloe + NAG on top with no moisturizer. The aloe serum works wonders during the day to help minimize irritation, but again, I prefer to use the word ‘sensitive’ as opposed to full on irritation bc literally once I put on the aloe serum, within minutes, that small area calms down. I do like the product, I just cannot for the life of me get my whole face covered with one pump. I believe I’m a little over two pumps to get my forehead, cheeks and neck covered where all areas have a nice even coating that won’t just dry up in an hour. I guess your mileage may vary. If anybody else has experienced any of this, I’d like your feedback, if possible.
I can second the tip about mixing a body moisturizer with the retinal oil! I've been doing it for a couple of months every week. Super soft skin and it's a really luxurious feeling 😊 I use just a standard dove body lotion, nothing fancy but the oil elevates it so much! Also Rob, we need your products front and center on that shelf 😉
Oh thank you so so much hun and dont worry I will be doing some strategic shelf rearranging in the coming week lol.. Hope your having a great friday and sending you so much love x
Have not yet tried a retinal but I am liking the sound of the MAS oil. Just wanted to say how mush I appreciate your videos, not only are you updating us on the honest and relevant info, it’s just such a relaxing experience to listen to you. I have spent a few days trying to catch up on international affairs (basically wars etc. ) and yeah that’s not great. Thank you for being an island of calm in a sea of chaos 😘
Oh thank you so much hun and this comment brought s little tear to my eye as I think with everything going on right now there is a need more than ever for some calm and self care and it makes me so happy to know I am a part of that for you.. love xx
Hi Rob - congrats and good luck with the launch of your retinal oil and rebrand - you thoroughly deserve it to be a total success! I am catching up with your content - you work so hard I am behind but really enjoy your honest unbiased content. I just did the Medik 8 quiz and came out at level 6 for regular users but wonder if I should upgrade myself to the 10 strength. I tolerate the advanced Beauty Pie retinol nightly and b4 this was using the dermatica prescription for tret but did get irritation around nostril folds so stopped but tolerated it elsewhere pretty well, hence my thoughts that the level 10 strength Medik 8 might work, but my oh my, the price!! Keep doing what you do - honest, fair advice and including budget options so all can enjoy and benefit from good skincare. You are a star ❤
Thank you so so much these words mean so much to me and thank you for all your support .. I would think you should be ok with the Medik8 10 and if its a little much and you get irritation you can always just use a moisturiser first and that will minimise the impact and irritation a little.. love x
Been using the medik8 crystal retinal 20 for about a month now, find it much easier for my skin to tolerate than the ordinary retinal 0.2. Can even get away with it without using a moisturiser now. Really need to lather up the moisturiser with the ordinary. Geek and gorgeous a game 1 is a great product and easily tolerated by my skin. But obviously only half the strength of the ordinary and medik8. Keep up the fabulous content Rob.
I usually use Maeloves Moonlight but its out of stock until October. I went ahead and purchased The Ordinary Retinal and have been using it for a week. The price point is more affordable (Maelove is almost $50 w shipping while The Ordinary is about $16) and if it works the same or better ill stick with The Ordinary.
I use The Ordinary retinal and love it! I use it on my neck and under my eyes with no problem. I love your idea of adding your retinal oil formula to body moisturizer! I could really use that!
Hello 39 here, I've been using tretinoin, then retinol for 10 years. However, i only started using retial as an eye cream last year! Amazing choice :))
I have been using the Beauty By Joseon Eye serum now for a few weeks. Due to having seen a couple reviews that mention some light irritation, I did with this what I did when I jumped up from The Ordinary Granactive 2% Emulsion to The Ordinary Retinal 0.2% Emulsion, and that’s applying The Ordinary Aloe + NAG on my face first, then the retinal, then my moisturizer, which for me is The Ordinary Beta Glucan moisturizer. Yes, I like The Ordinary, as you can tell. I don’t see myself jumping up to Medik8 prices until The Ordinary stops working for me. Your mileage may vary, of course.
I tried tret but no matter what/when I applied it my skin just wasn’t having it. I moved back to differin and now use adapalene with 20% azelaic acid and my skin loves it!! I alternate between that and treatments (vt reedle, exfoliating, or barrier repair) Edit: I use the ordinary emulsion on my neck and hands and love it!
I have just purchased the Medik8 retinal level 3 and am waiting for my order to arrive. I really like that they have different levels and I think they are the only ones that are doing that.
Right now I am using the Youth to the People Retinal and Niacinamide every second night. I am going to talk to my doctor about getting a Tretinoin prescription later this month.
Just bought the MAS collection to celebrate the new launch! Love all the colors, no need for my glasses to know which is which! I have faith in and enjoy your products! 🤗
Oh thank you so so much hun your support means the world to me.. Haha yeah I know lol we have gone from plain white to the most colour possible lol.. so glad you like the look of the products.. love x
My absolute favourite and around my friends: Retinal Age Reverse by Transparent Labs: 5% Retinal (encapsulated in liposomes) + 2% peptide complex + 1% Bakuchiol. On the budget: 50ml costs around 19 EUR - I think this product is only available in Europe.
I most often use Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum Ginseng and Retinal, Geek & Gorgeous A-Game 5 or 10, and I mix in a drop or two of The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. I have dry/dehydrated mature skin and I struggle with sensitivity because of rosacea, due to this I bounce between G&G A-Game 5 or 10, as my skin dictates. I absolutely feel retinal is easier to tolerate than retinol as I have tried both. I am excited to be so close to ordering MAS copper peptide serum.
Hi Rob, what do you think about the green Theramid retinal? Acording to the active ingredients, it's supposed to be stronger than the white one. Thanks!
Hi hun, I think its a great option for people who are established retinoid users.. I chose the grey one as its best for beginners but the green one is a great more advanced option.. love x
I'm so bummed. I was ill and taken to hospital for several days at the end of last week. I completely missed your events! But I did see the rebranding non your site. Love the new look! I've got about another week with my Food Molecules peptide serum and then I'll be ordering yours, I hope. As long as it's not already sold out 😅
Been using A313 from the French pharmacy is amazing and gives a glow to my face. Cos de baha retinol serum is great in fading hyper pigmentation Beauty of Josen retinal eye serum is also great. I cannot live without all the 3 products and I rotate them.
Oh thank you so much hun .. Its in super high definition with the new filming equipment lol so there is no hiding for me now lol (you can tell as its picked up the cat hair on my jumper in high def lol) love you x
I tried KSecret's Retinal cream because of your recommendation. I pair it with VT Reedle shot, calming toner/s and moisturizer, and hydrating mask hoping it minimizes irritation for my acne prone and reactive skin. I use it twice a week for now, so far I'm loving it. 😂❤
I love the K-Secret one, kicking myself for not mentioning it in this video.. such a great gentle but effective option and I'm so so glad it's working for you Hun x
hey Rob, I'm really looking forward to using the Anti-Aging RetinAL Oil. This face will be rather happy to be using it, especially with the colder months soon to be here. Sending wheelbarrows of love💌 to you and Tom for all the busy days ahead. ~ Paula
Oh thank you so so much Paula.. I think this is the calm before the storm lol as today has been nice and productive lol but I have my fancy tea bags on hand to get me through the next couple of days of work mania.. super excited for it though :) and thank you so much for your support.. love you x
I use Retinol from ordinary. I'm 68 and my chin has some deep wrinkles overnight. I'm not sure what to do. I'm using rosehip oil. Any suggestions? Really dry skin. I use a great vitamin c. I don't do well with hyloronic acid. 😢
I used to use dermatica Tretinoin and it made my skin very tight and little dry, I use one now from AndBegin, they use extra hydrating ingredients with their Tretinoin subscription, I use 0.05% tret with no irritation
This is my first time watching one of your videos. It caught my interest because I'm one of those people who can't use retinol. I've tried low dose, layering, building up slowly - all the tips, but I just turn into a beetroot. A sore beetroot. I'm a red head with very fair, very dry post menopausal skin. Also prone to roseacea. TBH I've given up trying, but I'm going to try your sensitive skin options. I'll start with House of Joeson because I've had massive success with Korean sunscreens (another thing I've struggled with leaving my skin dry, red, and painful). Just a quick shout out on Geek and Gorgeous - order their Vit C serum at the same time. It's the perfect PH. Their service is great too.
Thank you so much for watching and welcome to the channel hun.. I agree with you on that shout out I love G&G and their vitamin c is one of my favourties for sure.. I hope the BoJ one works for you, its super gentle so I think it will.. love x
Maybe it's time to give Retinoids another try. My skin is so sensitive and has a hard time tolerating any type of Retinoid, my acne got so much better when I switched to Azelaic Acid
I have used tretinoin for many years. I am now 64 and am going in for a nano brow appointment. I have one good brow and one very sparse lighter brow. I’m tired of trying to pencil, color in the brows to match somewhat. My esthetician who is doing the nano said to stop tretinoin for 1-2 months before the procedure. I’m stressing that I will have to reacclimate to the tretinoin. What would you recommend?
Ok, yay! What a great video. I've been using the Neutrogena retinol lotion for about 5 months and I'm underwhelmed. I do consider myself lucky that I haven't experienced any irritation or sensitivity, but I can't tell if my skin has improved. Perhaps I'm ready for a different type. So your video came at the best time. Going to purchase your anti-aging oil in a few hours. Thanks!
Thanks Rob, really interesting. Currently using your oil and love it! How do I build up to using the Ordinary Retinal please? Love the new packaging of your products, ordered some today x
Oh thank you so so much hun and thank you for your support.. If you can tolerate the oil I would maybe start using the or dainty twice a week and see how your skin reacts.. if you dont get any issue gradually increase from there.. I would keep using the oil only on the next though as this can be a super sensitive area for a high strength option.. love x
@@MadAboutSkin Thanks Rob, will do that. Going to do what you suggested with your oil and mix with a bit of moisturiser and use on my neck and chest. Hope the launch is going well! X
I really recommend the new retinoate serum (white packaging) by Theramid… potent but easy to tolerate, great spread ability, great feeling…I’m on my second bottle and I switched to theramid my retinals and copper peptides…
@@MadAboutSkin and you were right also about their azelaic acid… one more serum to take into account… this brand is really worth it! The same as yours!! 🤩
I use the A Game 10 & the BOJ retinal eye serum, and i love them, as im not in the uk was considering buying the Ksecret seoul 1988 serum next time instead of the G&G
Hi Rob, just looking at the new MAS site which looks fab - are you no longer selling your copper peptide serum? Is there a product similar to the thick face serum (I used to use it as a night serum because of the thickness). Thanks!
Hi hun, we are indeed.. There was an issue sourcing the raw ingredients so instead of changing the formula we know everyone loves we decided to postpone manufacturing but it will be back in 6 weeks time and will come with free shipping so anyone who has already bought wont have to pay shipping again to do a second order for the copper peptides.. love xxxxx
I agree. Retinol won't be missed. Between my Tretinoin and the BoJ and Okuwake Eye Cream, I get my retinoid fix. I know this next ? was more last video but still relevant.. does anyone know anything about Natrium Multi Peptides for the growth factors serum? Almost got today, but LOVE the MAS Copper Peptides and didn't know if that would be too similar. Thanks so much
Hey hun, I hope all is wonderful with you.. I havent been able to try it yet as its still on order to me but I cant wait to get my hands on it and I will be sure to let you know what I think.. I am a fan of the naturium formulations so excited for this one x
@MadAboutSkin Thanks, Rob, so I think I will go pick that up after all, along with their retinol body lotion I saw they had. These will be my first two products from them, so hearing you praise them gives me high expectations. See you tomorrow!

I used g&g but my skin couldn't tolerate it. I tried MAS retinal oil and it was still too harsh (it is perfect for my body though - I use it on my legs for strawberry skin and arms for kp) but I found medik8 3 works wonders on my super sensitive skin and only a month in I already see great results !
Thats amazing I am so glad you found one which works for you and I think its likely to be down to the encapsulation which is great in the medik8 one.. love xxxxx
I use The Ordinary 0.2% retinal that you recommended earlier this year, I love it, thank you! I use it six nights a week all over my face, neck, chest and back of hands. Can you also share how you are re-introducing Tretinoin back into your routine? Where do you get it from? Please share all! Like you, I am quite sensitive to it. Even after six months of trying most of last year, I could never get past the 0.025% strength. Thank you.
Yay I am so so glad it worked for you hun thats amazing.. for my tret journey I found that using it every other day and with a retinal in between was the key to success but it meant building up slowly for sure.. love xx
❤ MAS Ultimate Aging Oil the retinal formula is effective but gentle enough to use every night all year round on my face and neck. I'm currently experimenting with Geek & Georgouse AGame 10 on the face only every second night ❤
Yay I am so so glad its working for you hun.. I do the same as you, I have different products for the neck and for the face as I have different levels of sensitivity.. love x

Hey darling ❤😊 This is the video I've been waiting for, without knowing it!😂❤❤ I always have focus on anti-ageing/well ageing 😊❤ I just want to do the best I can for my skin ❤ I'm very pleasantly surprised to see you recommend the Ordinary because I have been reading about it lately and are about to buy it👏🤩 I just love your videos and your excitement for skin and skin products ❤️ I'm already addicted 😅❤ Huge hugs and love from Helle, Denmark 🇩🇰 Xo 🤗❤️
Thanks for a great video! ✨ My favorite is definitely TO's retinAL! I've been using retinOL up to 1% for years, but retinAL has proven to be much more effective and I've only been using it for a little over 2 months. I'm really impressed and already seeing great results! No more retinOL for me! 😎 Is or will MAS be available in Sweden? Good luck with the launch! 🌞
Hey hun.. yes we ship to Sweden and have so many lovely customers there :) thank you so much for your support and for sharing your experiences.. love x
I love Prequel (what I have tried so far) I am not the biggest fan of Remedy, I dont think they are bad products I just dont think they work well with my individual skin type but I know lots of other people love them.. love x
Oh thank you so so much hun.. do you do tret on day and then retinal on the other? this is how I have been doing it and I have found it works well.. love x
I told you😉. Thanks to the stupid restrictions that the EU applied exclusively to retinOL, now we can enjoy a variety of gorgeus affordable retinALs. Sometimes stupid things happen for a reason☺️... 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I’ve been using environ retinol 2, but the three days a week I use it nowhere near my neck my neck is a complete and utter mess. I definitely want to change and go to posh one ( in the silver tube, but I would have no idea what strength to use) and definitely need something really light for my neck. Maybe your oil would be a good idea. Idea for my neck as it’s so sensitive can you help and recommend? Xx
tretinoin is working , makes my skin super soft and smooth but i turn red super fast, like tomato red , is this normal or its too strong for me. i like tretinoin but i dont want to be red when little bit of stress hits me at work. or its lil bit hot in the room. if i change to retinal or over the counter retinol, will i get the same results without the red face ??
I had great hope for g&g products but something is wrong with them. I don't quite understand it, I have used tret and other retinals before and in the case of these creams my skin condition deteriorates so much that I cannot accept it. I tried it on my face, on my back. Well, something is not working here. On the other hand, I must add that for a few weeks I have been using TO emulsion every third night and I'm absolutely delighted because the effects are really fast and at the same time there is no irritation.
@@nn7397 hi! Sure: The skin becomes very congested. A large number of open comedones, the skin structure changes a lot. This isn't the usual purging that I have observed before with retinoids.
@MadAboutSkin aww love you right back hun .. ive literally just got a new delivery today wanted to try out the BOJ retinal eye cream and up pops Rob haha love it ! All the very very VERY best for you for tomorrow too hun i am so super excited for you couldn't be more thrilled for ya and I am backing you all the way ! You really have no idea how much you have helped me I can honestly say my skin owes you a LOT and i am so confident now and comfortable in my own skin largely due to your recommendations and as a woman in her 40s who now rarely wears makeup you have to know you are so appreciated and loved and go kick ass tomorrow with the relaunch ❤🎉
I have the Beauty of Joseon eye serum and the Ordinary retinal. I've also used the Geek and Gorgeous one but moved to the Ordinary because of its higher strength. In terms of texture I like Beauty of Joseon the most, but I wonder about its efficacy compared to the others if I were to use it all over my face - the label says it's 2% encapsulated retinal, and I wonder how that stacks up compared to the others. If anyone knows I'd be very grateful for the info.
Hi I agree I think the BoJ one is the nicest for the application.. the strength is equivalent to 0.03% so its a low wish strength option but still great.. love x
