PLEASE READ! i could not! find one because all others are covers so i did this:D hope you enjoy it:) (i do not own this in any way. The audio and the lyrics are the property of R.E.M) thanks for reading:)
"Mumble, mumble, mumble... mumble mumble mumble! Mumble mumble! Mumble... mumble mumble! Mumble! Mumble! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!" Me singing this song.
+Nathan L honestly, i can sing the first verse flawlesly, but once we get to the second, or even the third verse, my lungs are not capable to last that long.
I didn't learn anything this whole pandemic. No new language, baking, new craft, nothing. 17 days left in the year and it's now my goal to learn these lyrics so I can sing along without reading them online lol. I'll feel accomplished if I can.
don't burn yourself with all that "learn a new skill in the pandemic" bullcrap, all it does is burn out the little mind we have left due to quarentine depresion
I'm 57 now. My whole life I thought this song was speaking some real truths. Albeit it is, however after I found out my cancer was terminal a month or so back ive been coming back to this song and now I finally realise what they meant by "I feel fine." It's always the end of the world as we know it. I hope one day my grandchildren can find this song and take the same comfort in it as I did. Thank you R.EM
Back in like 1999 or 2000 a radio station in town switched formats, and while they were changing over they played this song on loop for days and days. And every time I scanned thru stations while driving I would land on that station and end up staying on it, listening to the song over amd over. Funny
@@blomark ..we had a radio station here in my city that played "Closing Time" for twenty four hours the day it switched formats.. I still can't listen to that song without getting a little emotional
2020: The year we get a volcanic eruption in the Philippines, Australia is hit by fire, hail and a dust storm, a goant swarm of locusts hit africa and the Corona virus spreads throughout the world. This year is off to a good start already
2:36-4:11 The whole 3rd quarter of this was absolutely my favorite part of the whole entire song including the part "I had some time alone and I feel fine".
In the beginning of the pandemic I told my entire family there is one thing I am going to know and it’s every single word to this song! I hadn’t listened to this song for about 6 months so just played it. The words are now forever instilled in my head and heart! 💙
2023...it actually IS the end of the world as we knew it.... everything is fubar!! And I don't feel fine. Song is stuck in my head now. God bless all 🙋♀️❤️✝️🇺🇸
I remember this song from the trailer of the Disney movie chicken little Anybody remember that movie? Some people say it sucks but I love that movie it was my childhood
I feel so optimistic when I listen to this song. :) Like, the fucking world is ending but who cares? Let's kick back, relax, get some beers, order take-out and watch it happen from our terrace while listening to R.E.M..... Who's with me? :)
Nah. I'll be that dick looting houses and hotwiring cars when the world ends. We're all gonna die according to whatever fucking prophecy they find by that point in time so why not?
Always was one of my favs, so I challenged my grandchildren to learn it and meet up together on Zoom to sing/read it together. Good Corona music and history lesson in one. Thanks for making it easier, Rob Wilson!
I feel like the more I try and learn the lyrics, the less I can remember them. I think the lead singer is the only human who can do the whole thing without messing up..
When corona virus gets categorized as a pandemic and 30 to 40 cases are reported in my city, it's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine. Update oct 3rd, cases going way down and people getting back to normal, the nursing home in my town ending up losing 50 people, apparently a residences grandson or parent brought it in. 3 people out side of the nursing home died, I ended up in hospital with it and was on a respirator for 3 days. No more cases left in town.
I am writing the OP. When I was young(er), I could listen to this song and hear every word. Who would have thought that your ears get slower as you age. Thanks for the time to give me back the lyrics.
It's the end of the world, so for the 1% that survive the coming apocalypse please remember the mistakes of our past when you rebuild our future planet!
What is concerning is that all the evil elites are heading into their bunkers now so we must be getting close. Let's hope that some good people will survive and not just the evil ones. God bless you all.

Funny enough it took me years to figure out what he was saying since english is not my native language. And it's funny to realise that message is the opposite of you'd expect. He names basically what you hear at any discussion/debate where both groups try scare tactics to win the discussion but at the end of the day the world is not ending. For like ages I thought he was saying he didn't mind the world to end :D
I told my mom that my New Year's resolution was to learn these lyrics. She said, "That'll never happen." After two straight days of practice, I sang it for her without the lyric sheet, and she just stared at me with a look of amazement, stood up, and left the room. So much win!
Ramiromasters This song its from the 1980s so no it has nothing to do with 9/11, but there was the cold war so probably it had something to do with it, and also about all those religions that want the world to end so they can go to a paradise, instead of doing the thing that we are supposed to do in the first place, that is, take care of one another and take care of the Planet we live in. Its time that someone preach that instead of intolerance and negativity love its what we need, not fear and intolerance.
TheNachita123 I meant if R.E.M was predicting 911. I know it sounds crazy but I saw this video /watch?v=_EhlvkqQ66Q Now some parts might be pure coincidence but other parts for them to be a coincidence then it would have to be the biggest, juiciest, rich, perverted, super charged out of control coincidence ever achieved except several times... Specially the "lone gun man" show that basically goes through the 911 plot A to Z a year before the event happen, and yes the episode was a pilot, it never got released. Go ahead watch it, tell me is just me seeing this things?
Has any song ever made the charts a second time 33 years after it 1st charted without being re-recorded? I doubt it! REM was and is great! I hope they're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Omg this song used to be on my toy guitar when I was little I heard it on a call of duty advert years later and came back to it I miss times like these 😭
This was one of the greatest groups of the 80's Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Michael Stipe, and Mike Mills. I liked the songs The one I Love (#9 1987). Then there was the album Out of Time which rocketed to #1 went quadruple platinum, and included "Losing my Religion" (#4 1991).The first time I listened to the song It's The End of The World as we know it and I Feel Fine I needed the lyrics to keep up great songwriting buy this supergroup in the 80's.
