I realize this video was already from three days ago, but having been replaying these games myself, I'm honestly surprised at how much I'm using Charlotte's spells. PoR was my first Castlevania game and I barely used magic at all way back when, but there's a better balance of "magic-weak enemies" and "phys-weak enemies" than I remembered. Gale Force and Spirit of Light in particular have been extremely helpful in some areas due to the level-design.
I remember Jupiter Climb saying he wanted to do All Quest speedruns in Portrait. I wonder if he'll get around to that now that we have the DS Collection.
I've started games in all 3 just to get a feel for them. I''ve been focusing on Ecclesia, but in Portrait I did come across parts where you need to utilize the character switching to progress. It's an interesting mechanic.
Those different names like "amphisbaena" is just how they were called in the JP version of sotn too, same for the different item names. They kept a few though, like Malachi instead of Evil.
Same, I bought and played all of them when I was in high school. Now that I’m in college, having all of them ON THE SWITCH is literally the one thing I wanted from Konami
EASILY the best DSvania: -Best castle (Dracula's castle is already good, but we also get all the other cool painting zones - except for the circus-themed areas, they're so dumb) -Best items (lots more equipments with actual interesting effects than the other games) -Best and most character variety -Best systems (playing with two character at once is cool as hell and Charlotte's spells feel very different from Jonathan's skills, cause you need to charge etc.) -Best bosses (not too easy like SOTN/DoS and not simplistic-cause-it's-made-with-no-hit-in-mind like OoE) -Best skills (Charlotte's spells do stuff that no other games do like having super powerful spells that cost a lot of mp and require a lot of charging time) -Best replayability (a million different modes to play with a million different characters and even more if you consider one-character challenges)
Hey, what’s up, man? How are you doing? I’m playing portrait of Bruins and I’m trying to get all the side quest done and best armor and best weapons. You can give me some hints or advice on it.
We got Rondo and SOTN in a collection already on Playstation. I doubt you'll see anything other than ports to other systems with anything new included. The 3D Castlevanias... that's all that's left to do.... hopefully include Castlevania Rebirth.
