I think they know how to promote it,but to be honest it´s very hard to gain new members for it. It is one of most training intensive sports of the world and in my opinion shots or ralleys are only nice to watch a this "pro level". I play table tennis now over more then 5 years(I´m 16) and I get better and better, but I am just able to hit shots like this in a showmatch or something like that. I hope you can understand me :) Sorry for my bad english.I am still trying to improve my written english skills :D Best Wishes from Hamburg !
I would agree. The 2016 Grand Finals there was almost no one there. I watch and follow TT every single day, every single league and had no idea that the WORLD TOUR GRAND FINALS was even coming up. It just appeared out of no where. How the hell am I supposed to show up to that event?
+Amaka S +DopeKicks You're both right in a certain way, and that's why I call it "shITTF". For starters, just bear in mind that ALL Sports are controlled tightly. Because any Sport is a very powerful Propaganda, both Ideological and Economical. The level of these implications are beyond most people discernment, as the masses are kept on purpose too ignorant and blind to see the Truth of this World - and Sport is used like in the ancient Rome: to distract them from the harsh daily struggles to make ends meet, which no honest person can do without sacrificing their own lives to it... So, it's not that this despicable shITTF can't promote TT; they don't WANT to promote TT, properly. TT is the most difficult Sport in the World, no ball returns at that speed rate regularly, nothing else can compare to it... So, it seems that the beloved TT would be easy to promote, isn't it? Now, just take a look at their videos here. How poor can you be? Fabulous tournaments and players doing fantastic - and just sh1tty videos of less than a minute, EVERY TIME? How about their poor, amateurish 3-minutes Highlights? TT is widespread like no other Sport in the World, yet shITTF fails to compensate properly their athletes. The reason why there are so few ADULTS playing it professionally is 'cause there's NO MONEY for a Pro career in TT, and ALL Pro-Europeans have their own private sponsors contracts - whereas in countries like China, the State itself is their sponsor. No other country invests in TT like China Government - hence, their results are always years ahead of everyone else. The REAL World Cup is the Trials & Super League in China. Now, talking about Money: how come Ma Long total yearly earning's are unable for him to buy a house? Only a 5k cheque for a major tournament win? How come? The Power bill of the venue costs more than this, c'mon... I once worked closely to TT's major executive in Brasil, and the reason I quit his offer to go ahead was that in ALL tournaments he did it in the same way: while the athletes ate white rice and meatballs and slept in poor places, he bought a new penthouse with the bulk of the tournament's budget. Check how many top brass in TT around the World are ALWAYS present at tournaments, all travelling 1st Class and staying at 5-Star hotels. Conclusion: there's plenty of money in TT, the problem is shITTF is a greedy b1tch, like so many others - plus they don't want people "too happy with themselves"... Bottom line: ALL these "Sport Regulatory Bodies" (like ITTF, FIFA, ONU, WSL = World Surf League, etc) have a hidden interest - and their Agenda is HUMAN CONTROL, nothing else. They're just another means to dumb down the masses and curb (= Control) their level of Self-Confidence, Brotherhood and overall Happiness. If people are too much Motivated and Positive, they become too confident in their Potential - hence, too dangerous to Governments everywhere. Think about it. This is one of the reasons I quit following Football in my country - Brasil -, because i'ts unbelievable that Ronaldinho, the greatest player EVER, was NOT present in the Football Brazilian Team in the 2010 Africa World Cup, or here, in 2014 Brazil World Cup. Exactly like they did with Romário, before. Our Football Team is carefully put together with submissive "hand-kissers", people who silently accepts the bribes and are accomplices in the tricks of the "backstage game" - and who'll never open their mouths in the Press... That was fishy enough to me to smell... When the BEST is not present, is a clear sign that something is going on, and they want the Team to fail, not to win... One thing, +DopeKicks: your English is better than most English-spoken natives, who fail to write correctly their own Language, everywhere. You're fine, believe me, and a very intelligent young fellow, too. I hope you keep training TT, the most beloved Sport in the World... Cheers!
I miss the old days.. when there are different players like penholders.. I wanna watch players like Ma Lin and Wang Hao, and Ryu against Wang Liqin and stuff... but now almost every pro plays shakehand... looks the same style .. kinda sad I also miss the old zhang jike :(
Well, tt is a pretty young sport. Even lately accepted at the olympics. I think, the differences in era are more visible if you experience them yourself plus the Chinese dominance was shortly broken in that time by Sweden, Germany, and Balkan countries (Croatia, Romania, ...), which is why that old stuff was a little more interesting to me...
I think number 2 and 3 definitely deserve a better place than number 1. That was curious and lucky and unexpected but I wouldn't define it a "best shot".
What's the official rule about that last rally? My coach always said that the ball must reach an elevation equal to the top of the net before touching the opponent's side to count as a point
I don't get why they always have to put 1 or 2 shots from women in those videos... Why don't make separate ones? I mean yea that rally with Ding Ning was quite nice, but what about no 10? I play better rallies every second weekend..
Why don't they just hit it softly just over the net for the guys standing 1 million miles away from the table? Is it like a rule or just not commonly done.
It looks like Walker is at his best for England team competitions at either team world championships or european team championships. He does not seem very relevant in ittf singles events but is tough competitor in team format.
It's the end of 2016 and sadly DHS 3*** plastic ball is still the worst out there. Doesn't bounce, uneven and easily breakable. Come on, DHS, do something, it's about time.
Hi, I am a big fan of inexpensive Chinese gear and 150$ sound like some hi-end stuff to me. I'd say anything you get that costs more than a 100$ has to be good, but not for everybody. It all depends on your level and what exactly you do, like looping, smashing or blocking or all that together. In the recent years Stiga and Nittaku blades have worked well for me combined with LKT Rapid Speed and Galaxy inverted rubbers and Giant Dragon Long pips. Yes, I play offensive with long pips) Hope this information helps a bit.
