Contenders Ready, Gladiators Ready - This is the full theme tune of ITV's Saturday Night 1990's Adventure Combat Physical game show Gladiators and ran from 1992 until the year 2000.
Brilliant memories of days gone by. Saturday nights in front of the TV with a bag of chips as a treat. Blind Date and Casualty to follow. Seems like only yesterday! Miss the 90s
Brilliant memories of simpler times, we always had fish and chips on a Saturday night watching this then match of the day looking forward to playing football on Sunday!
I’m not even sure you will see this but Laura, you have won my heart here. I left the UK for South Africa in 2010 but keep coming back to this as Saturday nights were always at my nans house and that was our exact lineup! Followed by a cheesy 80s movie which generally came on after
I Watched the first episode on BBC One last night. As someone who grew up watching the original show I really enjoyed it, Brad and Barney Walsh did a great job hosting and Guy Mowbray was an excellent choice to commentate. i also loved that they brought the theme tune back, and it was nice that the show stayed true to what made the original 90s show so good. A Saturday night institution reborn for a new generation with a bang. Great Job Hungry Bear and BBC. 9/10
@@christophergale4553from fat chubby ladies of the renaissance to hard faced cromwellian sourpusses, right up to 20th century well toned women like sharon davies and jet from gladiators
I remember in 1993 Warrior and Zodiac came to my town to sign some autographs and I was beyond excited. Warrior was absolutely huge in real life. They were both wonderful with the crowds of kids! What a show!
Is it wrong that I cried watching reruns of this epic show?? I'm 34... kids of my own.. I miss my family and those carefree Saturday nights in the 1990s ... There's something intangible about the nostalgia of this... Blessings
Na mate I'm 38 nearly 39 and I did so I'm worse lol and especially since they brought the new one out and it had kept the same theme tune, they nostalgia hits ya right in feels, better times, heroism was celebrated more.
I really wish itv would re-run the Gladiators from the very beginning 😮 it would really liven up Saturday night tv once and for all!! Nice bit of nostalgia for us old farts.
Kids from today will never understand how amazing the 90s truly were! Back when there was no internet/social media we had the likes of Gladiators & Baywatch to keep us happy lol a truly amazing time to have experienced ❤️❤️
the show Gladiators brings back lots of memories you could not even get away from the wolfman. John Anderson the (TV personality) always had a hard time with the wolf
Remember sitting down as young lad, always wanting to have a go at swingshot, that game looked too fun! Always started with atmosphere too and who could forget duel......shadow used to beat the living lights into contestants......those were the days followed by Mr blobby on Noels House party why has this gone!
Panther and Cobra came to my school. Panther sat in my Chemistry lesson...it was an all-boys grammar school, so to say she was a distraction is playing it down. 😂
Feeling down at work? Listen to this and suddenly everything gets done in montage. LMAO now I'm imagining the Gladiators all participating in mundane work tasks!
Glad it's coming back, in 2023 I was born after the original run of the 90s in 99 so have experienced it by old episodes and the failed reboot of late 2000s hope it is successful
It's coming back!. I used to love this show but with the BBC getting their claws into it...I fear it won't be the same. Interesting to see Bradley Walsh and his son taking over the presenting duties. Bit of nepotism there I wonder?!. I bet the next theme tune is going to go all woke...no toxic masculinity of "power and fighting" to be had here...no guitar solos either I bet!.
Before becoming a referee on Gladiators John Anderson worked for my local council and my dad used to work with him. Which dad used to remind me of EVERY Saturday Night when I was watching Gladiators. Also I was a huge fan of the Gladiators as a child (5/6 years old) and my sister worked in Birmingham a lot at the time. She came home one night to tell me that the ENTIRE cast of Gladiators were eating in the hotel that she had been staying in for the week. Excited, I ask (bear in mind I'm a little kid at the time) 'did you get an autograph for me?!' because, why else would my sister tell me right? 'oh no. I didn't want to disturb them' was her reply - to her 5 year old brother, who was a huge Gladiators fan and she was well aware of that! I understand that you didn't want to disturb them sis, but WHY then tell me about it??
I didn’t think they could recreate it but they have actually done a good job and respected the original. Favourite gladiators so far Giant, Apollo, Diamond and Fire.
LYRICS: Do you feel the power of the Gladiators? Can you face the challenge of the champions? Do you have the courage of a hero? Do you have the will and the skill? Do you have the speed, the strength, the heart to be a winner? It's not for beginners. Deep down in your soul. Are you a Gladiator? Gotta move like a streetwise fighter. Gotta face the fire of the tiger. Gotta give your all to win. Ready or not, let the challenge begin. Can you match the strength of the Gladiators? Do you have the fire within you? Do you have the heart of a lion? Do you have the power in your soul? Now it's time to race, it's face-to-face, get on the track now. There's no turning back now. Your future's on the line. Are you a Gladiator? Gotta move with lightning speed. Feel the strength for what you need. Gotta take it on the chin. Gotta love it, love to fight and win. Do you feel the power of the Gladiators? Can you face the challenge of the champions? Show the stuff you're made of. Can you seal the fate of the Gladiators? Can you challenge the Gladiators? Will you take on the Gladiators? Will you be the new champion? The Gladiators
