2008 marks the return of Trevor Macdonald to the newsroom and he was there until October for his second retirement after announcing his first retirement in September 2005
January 14th, 2008 - the first News at Ten since January 2004 (making way for the ITV News at 10:30 for a few years) and the first appearance of these titles.
The only problem for me with this version of the London flyover was they mistimed it. The should have had the camera move across London and face the clock face at the right moment, just like the 1988-1992 titles, with the titles wiped across the screen NEWS at TEN. Instead we get a mistimed fly over and we are stuck going through the London Eye before we finally reach Big Ben in time for the chimes. Bit off in my opinion. Great titles though.
In 2019 they flyover would look a bit out of place now, since most of the clock tower of Big Ben is now covered in scaffolding for real, under restoration work.
