@@hightree9295 nope it wasn't cuz if it did were scripted, yeji will totally talk more here but since she hasn't have the confidence to talk in english yet, she just sit there trying to understanding what they're member were saying btw she was like jisoo huhu
Yuna’s confidence is out of this world! Even with a language she’s not fluent in. She just jumps in! The other members get a kick out of it too. I love it.
I feel like it’s cause english lessons in korea have become better or they’ve become more strict about it cause they realised it’s more important since the country is becoming known internationally lol
I love the interviewer, you could tell they had at least done their research, and probably is a Midzy. Most interviewers know nothing of the group and usually not even a thing about the kpop industry! So I'm really glad this one was well educated on Itzy and kpop!
yeahhh i have been watching the interviewer with got7 and she’s really deserves a raise! i meant she’s totally know all around whats going on kpop even in the group i love her 💖
You could tell it made it easier when he was asking questions because even if he couldnt fluently understand them, he had an idea of what they were getting at and could help them articulate
Neither of that, lol . Yes , she is Egipcian but its roots are Greek , so she was White . And she wasnt that beautiful like we all thing , her personality was why cleopatra still Importan till these days . She was a seductive person , unique , intelligent and talented. She speaks a lots of languages , know alquimia , Scientific and writer .
@@gbbygbgab She did lose that beautiful smile and confidence on-stage for a few months. But I think Lia and Chaeryeong are helping her keep the negative comments away and are helping her to stay calm and confident on stage. Since a lot criticize her dancing and singing skills and say she shouldn't be in the group, but she does have a very nice, warm voice. It's just that she doesn't get to use that lovely warm voice because that's not what JYP is asking her to do.
Like when the interviewer said "Judy" is not a grandmother's name, and pointing out the members English names. Interviewer actually watched the video or clip highlights.
I love that they genuinely try, regardless of whether they know they'll speak perfectly or not, to actually speak it from their own thoughts and hearts. I feel like a lot of English interviews done by idols who are usually still learning or don't understand much at all are awkward because they're so scared, which is understandable, but sometimes they come out with really generic answers which are often provided by the company to have ready for them. It seems like the girls are really trying to answer to the best of their abilities and from their own individuality, they really are a role model for confidence and I love seeing it. Ryujin, though less fluent than Lia, actually really surprised me because she really articulated her thoughts and even the way she chose to phrase her answers and her words display her proficiency in English.
im glad that jyp is pushing for them to speak english fluently like he did with wonder girls cus he didn't with miss a and twice and that was a missed oppurtunity :( edit: everyone keeps talking about min and yes she was very fluent in english, but i'm talking overall. compared to wonder girls who were closer in number to miss a, they were all better english speakers overall compared to miss a, where suzy needed translators in english interviews and in china where they were actually being promoted. which brings me to the other point, even though miss a were good english it was never jyp's intent to really market them to english markets, especially america. from pre debut they were coined "the chinese wonder girls" and they were already working on wg's promo in america so they prob wanted to focus their newer gg on a different international market; china.
@@bossbabyfuyuhiko6657 I didn't say they weren't... I'm just saying it was a missed oppurtunity for communication with fans and business-wise for them, since English is kind of the universal language these days. (Also I love Fuyuhiko omg 😍)
I think it's because of their target marketing. As for twice, their marketing target is in Japan, that's why he's pushing all of them to learn japanese instead of english (which kind of make sense because twice have debuted in japan and will do a lot of thing like tour or variety shows in Japan). I don't know much of miss A, but JYP definitely want to put Wonder Girls and Itzy in the international market, which explains why he pushed them to speak english.
@@angelique6221 Yeah in a marketing standpoint i understand why he is pushing certain languages on certain groups but i was also talking about for the fans; in twice there isn't one really fluent english speaker (as far as i know) which sucks cus the fans miss out fron that connection with them.
7:53 = “but, butttt, ...lia.” 6:25 = “hey! why you laugh?!” 7:58 = “you, you you say you start top secret, just a little bit” 8:06 = “ha hey!” - yuna/hussey always will be my favourite
Yuna is so cute when she speak english! Lia voice is so deep when she talked english.. Yeji and Chaeryeong is also really good and Ryujin was so fluent.. 6:25 i couldnt stop laughing and when Yuna said listen to mine and her face was so sassy Hahaha cuties..
Imagine you’re from nyc and you’re also a midzy, you coincidentally passed by the build building while itzy does their interview without even noticing that they were actually there looooll
Lol Lia crushes the interviewers point his: "I don't care what they think I'll do whatever I want" I know this is the mentality of a lot of people nowadays and she has an honest point there. "It is good to listen to others sometimes because we learn from each other" - Lia I hope people will see this too.
Ok this is the best interviewer I've ever seen, they need to interview every kpop idol. Like this person took time to find out their English name, we stan!
The reason is most likely because of Lia. Lia is from Canada so I that’s why all of the members slowly have a Canadian accent. Like Lisa and Jisoo for example, They both have Aussie/ New Zealand accents from Jennie and Rosé
English speaking ranking 1. Lia ( we all knew she's fluent , no need to explain) 2. Ryujin ( she can talk straight English and her pronunciation is good plus she's confident with the way she talks) 3. Chaeryeong ( her pronunciation is good and can do basic english) 4. Yuna ( she's confident with her English but her pronunciation needs improvement) 5. Yeji ( this lil baby is a bit shy I think she's not that confident with her English)
Yuna is just confident and talkative it made u think she's better but if u watched their other videos chaer is better not just with her pronunciation but her grammar too.
mint green Chaeryeong couldn’t even finish her sentences while Yuna could. Even if what Yuna were saying were bunch of three worded sentences, it’s still a full sentence and we definitely got what she’s trying to deliver unlike Chaeryeong she didn’t even know the proper word to use and the MC needed to guess and she just nodded (not sure that’s what she tryna say or she just nod cause what else she would do). Confidence is everything. If you don’t converse, even with broken English, then you wouldn’t improve. Being shy will dampen your ability. Just like Yeji, she’s being shy and not confident thus why her English is the worst out of them all. I still stand corrected to my point that Yuna is a better English user than Chaeryeong just because she knows how to converse even in a broken English and sometimes wrong pronunciation. We GET what she wanted to say, she didn’t make us guess what she’s trying to say like how Chaeryeong was. Even Ryujin has bad grammar but she’s still a GOOD English user. Pronunciation. Is. Not. Everything. Also, this is coming from a non native English speaker so I understand the struggle and I definitely CAN understand Yuna. I believe if I CAN, then a native speaker would 100% understand her.
Lia: absolutely fluent Chaeryeong: so adorable, I’m dying. Yuna’s English: simply uwu Ryujin’s English: quite fluent, like almost there. Yeji’s English: quite fluent, but the way she tries to answer questions right is so cute omg-
It is very common for people to use a different vocal register when speaking different languages because of the way things are pronounced and articulated. Korean tends to invoke a higher register and English a lower one.
Ryujin loves to read books, her music taste is also good (classical) and she's also fond of watching english movies not to mention that she also did well in school, this explains why she's literate.
Man i knew lia could speak English but didn't knew other members were this good too and i am impressed with rujin's skills and i didn't knew chaeyoun and yuna can speak that well too
Yeji: flustered, and trying to pronounce it as well as she can Lia: *is fluent* Ryujin: acts professional (first of all, in my case...) Chaeryeong: stumbling, but somehow knows more adjectives than anyone else Yuna: confident stumbling... (is that even possible?)
Some of them are lil bit having trouble on the pronunciation but they can really speak and understand! Wow! I'm literally amazed because it's very rare that a whole group can speak English. STAN THIS QUEENS!♥️
