IUs lyrics sometimes uses metaphors but if you try to understand it it's actually very relatetable Just like "palete" ,23 ,BiBi , blueming and celebrity, also her balads are very moving. I cried when u started crying eight is such a sad song yet very hopeful.
Ji-eun lyrics are very deep, emotional and meaningful thats makes her impressive as a lyricist... she's an artist that conveys songs relatable to anyone's emotions in a certain situation....from a Uaena here who always supports IU... thanking you😘❤️
Thank you :) as dkdktv explained in the start, Eight is part of age - series, so... while maybe the theory is indeed true, I think the song can be explained in a wider context too (for example related to IU and Suga 28th years old life). :) You need to dive deeper in IU lyricism, coz she always makes the songs to be multi-interpreted and can be applied in many contexts. Anyway, thanks for being so careful talking abt this, bcs its a sensitive topic for some fans :(
Thank you for reacting In IU's music reading and understanding her lyrics is a must because it's expected to be having a deep meaning behind it. She's such a great lyricist
I remember those tragic events back then. A lot has changed now, but back then, celebrities just had to put up with it. Since the agencies didn't want to be noisy, there was an air current that only the individual had to endure. Haters were starting to go overboard, and it was an era of competing to see who wrote the more hurtful comments. Of course, there are still many. However, these days, when haters go too far, they sometimes file lawsuits at the agency level.
It's really sad. Was it a combination of hurtful comments on social media and a toxic breakup? I think I read somewhere that Sulli was being blackmailed by her boyfriend also at that time. If so, that's such a damn shame.
Thank you for your reaction! I don't know how to comfort you. I know it's a little difficult to talk about our angel! But we can wait until you are comfortable! Take care.
Thanks for your reaction. It definitely is a very hard topic to watch and talk about but I think it's important to be aware and appreciate the art of the lyrics and the visuals and the song. Sending you virtual hugs!
IU is an angel amongst us. My first contact with her was watching My Mister, where she played this beautiful but hauntingly sad young women. From there I looked her to see what other drama's she was in and discovered her primary talent was her voice and singing. There is just something about her that moves people, no matter their age, race, religion etc. But like far to many Americans in particular, she had been hidden from us. As an older male with grandchildren I never had a Bucket List. Now I do and as of right now there is only 1 thing on it. And that is to take my 5 grandchildren to see IU in concert. I can only hope that a trip to the US is in her plans in the near future. She came here once, I know in 2014 to Kpop Convention in LA. I know she expressed frustration at not being fluent enough to speak to her fans in english and stated before she returned she would be fluent enough. The performance that is mentioned in the Explained by a Korean video, I have posted a link to it below. Although you may wish to wait a little before reacting to it as it is emotional. In the video she is talking to the crowd before singing the last song of the concert. The song is Dear Name, which it self an emotional song and IU has stated is the most difficult song for her to sing. She promises her fans that she will do her best. I personally don't know how she is able to execute this song under the conditions she finds herself in, but she does. Hope you could react more on IU's songs. I would like to recommend her 2 MVs' with 8 year gap. Same actors and director. "You and I" and "Above the Time" hope you could use original MV for storyline (You and I don't have engsub)
OMG... TEARS!!! Love this. So well done. IU's look into the camera at the end is so emotional. The last look really is to say to all those HATERS... "Are you happy now!?" All I can say to anyone who reads their feedback, there are always haters. If you can, do like me DON'T read it. Post something nice, it will not only help the person reading your post, but it will help your soul. Thank you for posting.
