Holssi is a tittle track. There's 2 tt, the other is coming out tomorrow on 20th, 6pm KST with the whole album (5 songs). On 23rd, she's also be releasing a mv for Shh,, . I personally dont know why, if you don't know an artist, why not take 2 minutes and do a google search. Then you will have at least a little bit of information that help inform you, at the minimum keep you saying any thing that may turn off potential subscribers. Since you didn't here is a littel info about IU. She is the most successful kpop artist in Korea by any measure, #1 hits (over 34 more than twice as many as any other kpop group or artist) number ofcweeks her songs have been on the charts (over 700 weeks) etc. Rolling Stone Magazine added her to their 200 Greatest Singers of All Time list last January. 3 weeks ago she released Loves Wins All that did what many said was impossible, that song reached #1 on the day of release tying BTS as the only 2 to ever achieve that and many thought a soloist artist would never do that. She debuted in 2008 at the age of 15. She is the most respected artist in Korea. She is a singer, songwriter. Musician, composer, record producer, MV producer, Award winning actress and a model. Everything she does turns to gold. And when it comes to music she knows and presentation she knows her stuff. On this MV she wrote the lyrics, was co-composer and Producer. Her MV are never about what they appear to be about at 1st glance. Since you dont know thing about her you stand little chance of really understanding her MV you can't understand why she has done things thecway shevhas, because everything's in her MV's help in telling the story she is telling. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy the music. And her voice is the most impressive instrument in anyvsongvshe sings. I have included an interpretation of this MV for your consideration. The opening scene is shot on Myer St along side the LA river, Tweety is is sitting on top of EL PATO SALSA. Part of This video was shot at the intersection of Jordan Ave and Valerio St in Canoga Park, CA. The factvthatvit was shot in I believe is a key to what the song is about. This is the 1st time IU has made a video in the US & guess what she is coming to the West (Europe and the US) to hold concerts for the 1st time. Don't tell me there isn't a connection. There have been a lot of people, in Korea particularly, who say & have been saying, that IU doesn't need to prove herself by going to the US or Europe. It seems as if she is talking to directly to someone, and telling then her plans and to not worry about her, she has this. She spreading herself like Dandylion spores on the wind. She isn't going to settle on smooth ground (i.e. taking the easy way). She says she is a single spore (a soloist). On a different road. Fly high to bloom. (To reach her full potential) If any asks how I'm doing Send them the news "She has become a spore" (she has taken to the wind, flying without wings where she lands nobody knows, meaning how will things turn out no body knows). Follow me, gonna go and win (she will succeed on this different road). Follow me, even without wings (on social media etc she will be visible ) I'll fly in the center for everyone to see (like her last 4 indoor concerts in the round, she wont shy away and hide) The sky above is blinding. But I'm not afraid of heights at all. (She is not afraid of the risk she is taking. A risk many others, have advised her against taking.) I'll fly so close to the scorching sun (she will push the risk factor in order to succeed. ) But she will sit on a cloud (and enjoy the show) And she might cause a little ruckus while she's at it just for fun. (meaning watch out, expect the unexpected) The road ahead won't be easy. (She knows the risk and how difficult it will be) But I won't fuss about it (she won't complain or make excuses) This was my choice, it always has been (no one pressured her or said to truely make it you have to make it in the US. It's her choice and always has been. Whatever happens it's on her no one else). The odds of it being easy are zero (acknowledging she is fully aware of what she is embarking on) Wish you all good luck. I'll even say goodbye (this sounds too much like her lyric in Eight where she is angry that her friends just come and go as they please without even saying good bye. But she is saying goodbye, possibly saying she isn't committing career suicide like her 3 friends actually committedsuicidewithout saying good bye.) May God be with ya See, (she said goodbye) see ya Tweety pie reference is definitely important and significant. I'll admit I am still a little confused by it, but here it goes anyway. Tweety is caged and only leaves the cage and takes flight to escape Sylvester always returning to the safety of the cage. Could it be IU's way of saying that she is leaving the cage and it's risky to do so but sometimes in order to survive (escape Sylvester the cage can become a trap and leaving it is required to survive but never leaving it permanently) you leave. But the safety of the cage is always there and Tweety always returns to it. By filming this in the US with American dancers and American neighborhood etc, she is establishing a connection with her western audience. The ending credit scene where the IU HOLSSI kite/balloon is behind the powerless gives the image that it is still in a cage and safe. It is also interesting that the child looking out at the other kids dancing with IU, and appears to be interested but also a little nervous appears to be of Asian descent. (Meaning could be the child in IU that is still a little nervous or when she was younger the thought of doing what she is now doing was scary or that she is acknowledging those in Korea who worry about her) the worrying about her however extents to all her fans around the world. At the end she allows the cartoonish IU go as the real IU, who is no longer wearing the Dandylion outfit of the ballon/kite gets ready to head out on her different road.
@michaelfoley5295 Not trying to be mean, but why are you spamming multiple reactors comment with such long essay lecture format on how they should think and research, that rob them of any spontaneity, genuine first reaction and freedom to proceed with their own IU discovery IF they choose to at their own pace. IU is not for everybody, no music or artists are, and that is perfectly fine, especially there are huge language and cultural barrier to begin with. It is rude and off-putting to see this from a fellow Uaena, especially about a song wishing for embracing and empowering individuality, freedom, despite uncertainties. Path being easy is zero is still perfectly fine. Take it easy... believe in her work will speak for itself in the long run.
