@@Imme_begin yeah I think the 2nd option makes much more sense for me because if you notice in the video she’s always the one leading him to places while escaping and telling him where to go and she’s the one entering the place first to check if it’s safe and he’s behind her and she seems very protective of him, also in the first part in the video she taps him to get his attention so all of that will make more since if he’s half blind and deaf . 💜💜
My interpretation is that “V” is disabled (mute and blind in one eye) and IU is protecting him. It was said in a post I read that this song is for her fan base. I think “V” represents them. IU is protecting her fans and marginalized people against discrimination. The cube is society or haters and toxic internet trying to force its views and beliefs. If you don’t comply you’re destroyed.

Thank you for your reaction of IU's new music and with V from BTS! In my opinion, I think the cube represents "hate" in society and with hate of course, society will crumble. IU and V represent "love" in all forms,(thinking of love outside the box) and fight for their love, becoming "blind and deaf" to the haters, continuing on with the wedding..etc. Love transcends even death, so LOVE ALWAYS WINS.💜
The main male character is V from BTS. I believe you reacted to 1 or 2 of their songs before. IU is a phenomenal singer/actress who pairs up in this MV with V who is also a phenomenal singer/actor. The 2 of them together is FIRE!
This made me NEED to see V in a romance movie or series. I think j he would be perfect for a Rom Com because he is so comical in real life. He could also sing the title track. Would Love to see him and IU in something together. They have really good on screen chemistry m.
The director was interviewed and said that both IU and V are disabled, and the cube represents the prejudice and discrimination that the disabled often have to endure. The director also said that they welcome other interpretations as well, but this was their original intention.

they both have a disability IU is Mute and maybe also deaf and V is blind on one eye and i think also deaf. IU end up singing on stage witch she normally can´t if she is mute. and V have a healed eye. at the end V wanted to protect her like she always protected him. all the way through it was IU who took the lead when they where running i think because she could se and hear. i read somewhere that V represent all the different discriminations. like a disability people often get hated on or misunderstood. so this is like a msg that love always win. no matter who you are, you deserve to be loved. this is just my interpretation of it.

Wow, so if you are in for it you are in for quite a journey with IUs 15 years of music waiting for you. Or if you like a music and interview show with V as a guest for example her Palette show might be just for you.
The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from oppression of society. The world is controled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in South Korea put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel unsecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dysopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abondonned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of confort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and push them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like from Spring Day, these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but as in Spring Day MV if you don't forget them you can seem them happy and free where they are now.
Beautiful story, it was not a just a beautiful song. IU and V are imperfect people according to the world. But through another lens, they see each other as perfect. In the real world, they may not have much, but they love each other and commit to each other by getting married. But the world intrudes on them and gets rid of their love, because their love should not be. It gets rid of them. We see that the world has done that before to others love that was deemed not worthy. Their stories is like other love that has come before theirs, disintegrated because they were perceived as imperfect by the world. The real world is broken.

IU is an award winning actress as for V he has 1 drama under his belt with the desire to pursue acting again when he completes his time in the Military. If you look at the Metaphors you can find many reasons. Some say that the cube is hunting them because of their disabilities she being deaf & mute and he is Blind in one eye. The Camera filter changes things to the opposite of what their reality is, where they are happy and doing as they please as a normal couple would. But they forgot to keep hiding from the cube, now in desperation they have no where to go and just have each other to hold on to as LOVE WINS ALL. 💜 💜 💜 Such a beautiful Song. Their emotional acting also brings tears to my eyes. It’s difficult to get the story behind the MV, you have to watch it a few of times, 1) to feel it 2) to read the lyrics 3) to watch it

Absolutely beautiful! So, here's my take: It's about the perils of having relationships as a Korean idol. The apocalyptic world is the real world, the cube is society eating up idols, consuming their lives. I think she is mute: unable to speak out against this consumption (because she does sing during the wedding scene) and he's turning a blind eye to the reality of their situation, to everyone but her. Though they desperately cling to one another they can't live in peace. They look through the lens of their video recorder and see only themselves and their love in this world. The mocking people trying to disrupt them and tear them apart are the critics, and in some cases, extreme fans. In the end, they're unable to stay in this idealized version of their life, their love persecuted and their life is once again consumed by the expectations of fans on idols.

I think they did a wonderful job!! IU and Taehyung both great singers and actors! I think they were runing for so long, and they have faced in certain momento the Cube, Taehyung protected both, and get hurt, that´s why he is one eye blind, and deaf. IU doesnt talk cz he is deaf, that´s why she uses sign language wtih him, but she can hear the Cube always before Taehyung. Before the Cube apocalipys, they were two happy couple, and trhough the camera they see each other as the way they are RECORDED in their minds, healthy (not famished), not injured and over all... happily fullfiling their dream: To be together forever (marry) However the reality is different and they are almost dying in a dying world, without ppl or food, or peace. Their last moment they throught the camera (THEIR RECORDED MEMORIES) enjoy their last happy moments, as they used to be. At the end, Taehyung even being weak and hurt, protects her with all his last breath, but can fight with the Cube, and IU finally do the only thing she could do to protect Taehyung, cover his only one eye, for him to see they are gonna die. If it isnst love, I dont know what is. I was reading ABSURD notes abt what they should or not should do, or why they "represent that o what" but the ONLY ONE REAL THING we can see here IS LOVE... TO LOVE WITHOUT ANY FEAR OR SELFISH just stick to that girls, dont pay attention sick ppl.
This concept is not new I am old enough to remember old sci fi movies where aliens are always the way the world ends. I think basically they were fighting for their lives but knew they would end up caought. They lived their fantasy of what they could have had if the workd had not ended and they had lived. Love won because they went together. She covered his good eye so he wouldn't see their end. Protective to the end for the one you love.
