@@Flare12j89ds as much as these girls are talented none of them sound like her, which is why I find this comment super ironic. These girls are super talented including IU but she has a unique and lovely voice that is hard to replicate despite its simplicity.
All of the singers did a great job but IU's voice is just too comparatively distinct. She's got a bit of an air to the vocals and sustains notes with her notable style, plus her voice just sounds more matured than the rest. Especially during that second song, it was extremely clear which one was her.
Shannon Williams hitting the triple note was my first introduction to her. By the time I saw the clip she'd already released Why Why so I was looking forward to seeing her career develop. She's one of the most gifted vocalists I've heard, she was competent at executing choreography, she was a radiant beauty, and her English was excellent. She's basically Somi if you swapped dancing for vocals. Unfortunately, her career was horribly mismanaged and she never got the stardom she was entitled to based on merits. I'm happy she's found success as a twitch streamer but losing her as a musical artist is a loss for the world.
The first song I didn't know.... But after the second song I IMMEDIATELY knew it was number 5, but my god number 3 really matches her vocals and style pretty closely....

I think they change their room number every song so yeaa (if u notice, number4 got most votes and she got eliminated i think, then they rearrange their room again and became only 5 participants, guess tht how it works in the first round?)
We have the luxury to use headphones to feel the smallest difference in the voices, but I'm pretty sure it's much harder to hear those difference when you in that hall.
A no brainer task, IU's voice (sustain, lows, highs), pronunciation and techniques are so articulated. I love she singing some of her earlier songs with her current style, for example. There are so many nuances now that make her sound more pleasing.
This is an old show that doesn't air anymore and hasn't for a few years. I'm pretty sure this episode is from around 2013-15ish so it's not really her singing old songs with her current style.
Taeyeon and IU's episode are the one's easy to guess because their voices are one of a kind in the industry. Their voice are stable af and u can definitely recognize their vibrato.
i had so much expectations for shannon williams! loved her debut song. she was only 15-16 here too! unfortunately her company gave her the dungeon treatment and she eventually decided to leave. glad she’s found a career as a twitch streamer + voice actor tho!
I was a hardcore T-ara fan during that time, MBK was just the absolute worst label she could be in at the time. Known for playing favorites in promoting their artists and giving the ones who didn't do well/they didn't like the dungeon treatment. I have no doubts she'll succeed in whatever she chooses to pursue
Ikr. Shannon was so talented. She even starting performing at the age of 7 but it's because of companies like that, that many extremely talented people go unnoticed.
I feel sad for Shannon (Lady in red hat). Her company wasted her talent. She's a skilled and talented singer. She could have been a top singer but her company doesn't know how to manage and showcase her talent.

Ahh still sad to see Shannon go having been mistreated. Well done. She was closest to IU for me, the timbre in many frequencies was close 👌 but her low end gave her away though it was nice to hear on IU songs. Very impressive!
At the time of the show the one with the red hat was a singer, her name is shannon arrum williams and her vocal was incredible. I like her song Why, Why , totally reccommend for u to check it out. Sadly, i think it's because due to her agency didn't promote and treat her right, she stopped being a singer and now is a game streamer. I think she used twitch.
@@raysakayw not that mostly, her agency promoted her like decently or some sort but you know knetz always struggle in supporting an artist/idol who is not a Korean or her features weren't that korean so she didn't had the chance to shine more. This happens if you are not a fully Korean and they are somewhat bias to it. Like what happened to other non Korean artist/idol they always have a little success in Korea but sometimes they get big internationally.

Although IU's songs are famous for the high notes, her lower tones are much more distinctive and unique that it's easy to tell her apart. I'm more surprised at the foreigners who can copy her well 🤣 They're so good!
Out of all episodes of hidden singer I've watched, this is the only time I've guessed right in every round. All those days growing up with IU's songs really paid off. She has a really unique voice that even if you sound similar to her, you still can't get her techniques right and copy her 100% unless you take your time to study her vocal tones very carefully and thoroughly.
They aren't bad, especially the braided girl but IU is just another level. Her voice is so well trained, is never shaken and dynamic + if you've listen to good day and you and I all the time then you just know. The third song was a little confusing because she didn't get good lines to sing.
Shannon (braided girl) actually has A-/A vocal tier which is higher than 99% of any kpop idols, there's only a few idols in the industry which are higher than her tier + she has the best head voice in the whole industry which is very impressive for a 17 yr old girl at the time

The other singers were great but it was still pretty easy to figure out which one was IU. Her voice is just too distinct and I personally don't think some of them actually sounded that similar to her.
The girl with red hat is most similiar to IU. But i spot them all right. IU voice is so easy to distinct, but i can't deny the third song si a bit difficult even when i'm used to hear this song.
Apparently Shannon was in a not so good company that did the bare minimum of promoting her and she went unnoticed by the general public then she retired. Basically wasted almost her entire life (she trained at 15 years old) being a kpop idol because she was different (foreigner kpop idol) and was in a small company ( not the big three). It's so frustrating seeing talented people go unnoticed.
It's easy to find iu's voice. Her unique techniques and voice can't be duplicate by anyone 💖 shanon has amazing visual and voice, she really fight for her dream.

As an IU's fan, im proud of myself that i can tell which one is IU just by her voice 😍 their voices are simillar but different especially when they're all outside the box, i can tell by closing my eyes
I've watched this episode many times, and Jett is surely the only one that has almost the same voice as IU, at least for me. Maybe that's why she got the high notes for Good Day. And by Jett I mean Shannon. I also got confused between 1 and 4 on 너랑 나 at first
I recommend watching the full version of this episode. The crowed were really boggled about all of the different nationalities. Also, IU coughed in disbelief/amazement when Shannon said she was 16 years old during the introductions.

I was rooting for Shannon when I heard her single Why Why back then. She was featured on 'My Neighbor Charles' and I thought her work would pay off in Korea. It was so sad to watch her struggle for relevance and prove herself as a "foreigner" while dealing with mismanagement.
I just love that the lyrics is all (others are almost) in Korean and the vibes of her music is like the usual songs but the others are also trendy ,I'm not a fan so I can't distinguish who is who but their vocals are all amazing, imagine being IU or sounded like her🥰
I found IU each round. IU's voice is so hard to imitate. Her voice has this sound that only her can do. Ever since I listened to IU's song 2019. I've been a fan ever since. 🥰

I did it!!! I guessed every round right 😭🙌 I've been a casual listener since 2013 and there has never been really any singer I've known that sounded identical as her. IU has one of the most unique voice in the industry...her style/technique may be imitated and the other singers did pretty well here but there's just something so distinct only her delivers
That girl with a hat showed me who IU truly is. She has definitely a background in classic music because the way she breathe is perfect and made it so obvious because this is IU's weakness throughout her career she sometimes breathe in the wrong pattern and make her voice stiff. That perfectness always point me to the correct IU 😂
Even though I don’t listen to IU’s song everyday, I can still find her because her voice is so unique that it’s hard to copy. But I do listen to IU every week though 😅

3 and 4 was pretty good. I was pretty convinced it was either one of those until the last song where 5 sing the high note. After that I was pretty dead on 5. I just feel the way she sings her high note r quite hard to imitate.
I only know her as an actress but still nailed to find her every time (and at the same time idk how the short haired one got so far when she sounded the least like her :D she was also the one I could pinpoint every time so was immediately "voting" her as not IU every round :D)

I can recognise people with their voice so it was easy to guess.. also I'm a fan for her(IU). I usually don't recognise people by their face unless they are in the same dress and same make-up. "Love Poem" is my favourite ❤️

I am not that big of an IU fan. And I don't mean to discredit the other singers. But I was also surprised by how easy it is for me to differentiate IU's voice. well, IU's good day had been playing on loop for months on my phone 11-12 yrs ago. Her voice in that song had been engraved on my ears. same as her marshmallow. hahaha
IU “ah” and “ee” sounds are much more prominent and clear with a metallic background to them that is very specific. The others did a really good job though! 👏😍
I feel like this one was quite easy. I was even able to tell which guest singer was under which number. They all had something that distinguished them from each other. IU's voice has a deepness to it which the others could not mimic.
