He is clearly the best forward in the draft, both in skating and handwork, he is the best draft assistant by a margin, he has one of the best wrist shots of the draft, one minus is his defensive work, but I hope that in the KHL next season he will improve his defensive game. I think this is the 1st number of the draft
Connor Bedard and now possibly Ivan Demidov. This teams future looks so bright. Hopefully we can get improvement next year. They need to get this team into a winning culture but also being patience with the players that need more time to develop.
@@robrick9361 I’m so pissed. Congrats on taking demidov he’s going to put the Habs on his back. I’m not sure why he dropped to 5, ig the hawks needed defense, not sure what Anaheim was thinking.
It's tough for the Russia prospects...like you said MHL factor, not seeing them at international tournaments...how would Demidov do with more KHL ice time. Lots to consider. But this kid is an offensive dynamo...swing for the fences is what I would do.@@sylvanmw
@yer688In the regular season yes size is not a deciding factor.. In the playoffs yes SIZE matters. My sergeant Major used to say bring a baseball bat to knife fight. If one does not kill them the other will.
He looks legit. Chicago SHOULD pick Demidov as Bedard's getting a little frustrated in Chicago. We have tons of D prospects already in our system and a couple young D on the team already.
The Hawks dont take a lot of Russians but Mark Eaton and Davidson are on record saying "if you cant skate, you arent going to be a Blackhawk" so i think theyd like Demidov. id rather some size beside Bedard but its hard to look past Demidov
Rumors are that Montréal would move players and picks to get him if they don't have the second pick...he would really fit on a Martin St-Louis roster !!!
A second look . If Duysuk and Oar had s baby. I say Oar because the way he spreads his legs apart to keep balance. Hes a a sharke effortlessly surveying the kill zone. He could end up generational or at least Kucerof.
I try not to second guess what professional NHL scouting departments come to a conclusion on much of the time, but I really wonder what Chicago was thinking passing on putting him on the same team with Bedard. Even if they only power play'd together, they'd have two elite lines up front. I get the need for defense, super important, but this guy, holy smokes, Montreal got a franchise player.
What does Anaheim see in Beckett Sennecke? If i owned the Sharks, id definitely be checking on Grier and see why they just cost their franchise a star player in Demidov. Im a Habs fan, and this is the guy i wanted. Habs GM nailed 2 of the 3 last drafts. I wanted Slaf over Wright, got him, and i wanted Ryan Leonard over Matvei Michkov (I guess I expected the team that ALWAYS comes in last in scoring, EVERY year, and has a surplus in D, I figured we were going to get a star forward, but nope, they went with...reinbacher, a defensive defenseman, who scored two goals in what the last 3 years?? I know D is super important, but we already were stacked, and it's not like now that we have reinbacher, we r all set now for D. Still hurts, but the other two first overall picks for us were great, imagine if we had Michkov and Demidov!!! Demidov, Suzuki, Michkov, Hutson, and Caufield, THAT'S a power play line!!! But alas, we got reinbacher, there's still a small chance we trade him for someone who can put the puck in the net, time will tell, i hope we get someone who can score before the preseason starts, maybe Rutger McGroarty...
No doubt he's got elite level skill, but you gotta consider the quality of competition he's facing in the MHL. That said, I'm looking forward to see if he develops into an elite NHLer
The last played you showed of him defensively could have been a play the defenseman called him out to release pressure and to go back to his position. Where he eventually went to block the shot. It was high iq play. If he would of stayed there the positioning could of been off and the shot he eventually blocked would have been a shot on net instead.
I like Emery...he's in the realm of a seconder round in my opinion. Big and strong defensively, with a raw component...with a little work and development he could turn out to be a solid D prospect. I've seen him live (the NTDP) a bunch of times and I like his game. Wouldn't say his a big offensive type D, but defensively solid.
Great video.... Greentree, Luchanko, Artamonov, Shuravin, O'Reilly, Traff, Mateiko, Freij, L. Pettersson, Badinka, and Siryatsky...would be interesting... Sorry most of these guys there is no film.....
a couple more besides the ones already mentioned in the comments, John Mustard, Tanner Howe, Yegor Surin, Veeti Vaisanen, Stian Solberg, Will Skahan, and Colton Roberts
Demidov and Bedard are skilled but too small Bedard was bullied this year both in NHL and IIHF worlds They should go for the Big D or even Lidstrom Big Center
