I had my new to me ‘14 (bought at 9K miles, now over 15K) Voyager Ivanized a few months ago, night and day difference. No intake or exhaust mods, stock less the ECU mod. It had its faulty, now this big beast is a pleasure to ride. So much smoother on the highway, throttle response is what you would expect while twisting the throttle. No more popping at deceleration, no more flat spots in the throttle response, fan comes on at lower temps than factory. Helps in AZ temps. Besides a vented shorter wind screen, and Ivanized this bike is stock. It’s a keeper.
When i had my Vaquero flashed it made my bike quicker in the lower gears. Before i could be in 2nd gear at 3000 rpms and the bike is not gaining speed or moving out as another term. With the flash in 1st and second gears i was moving out to the point that i could literally cruise around in 2nd gear without straining the engine. 3rd gear puts me on the high but 4th gear im comfortable at highway speeds. I did not need 5 th and 6th gear or else i would be braking the 65mph speed limit.
I’ve been riding a 2010 Nomad for the past 4 years… ECU Ivanized… I’ve ridden Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner 28 in TN 4 times… Talimena Skyway in AR and OK… Natchez Trace in MS… and a lot of places in between… Great bike!
My ECU is on it's way to Ivan as I write this. I put some Vance and Hines slip-ons on and they sound incredible. I was surprised that there was no backfiring or popping even though I hadn't done the flash yet. Maybe that's because I still have the O2 sensor connected. Anyways, thanks for sharing and I am looking so forward to getting my ECU back and riding.
I'm not to concerned about the heat because I know it's not truly overheating but it will be nice to have the bike running cooler, especially in the summer.
I had mine done last month...In order to get the bike to idle correctly, you must start it up and let it idle until the cooling fan comes on about 3-4 times..then shut it off for hours until the engine gets completely cold....then repeat the idle sequence again until the fan comes on 3-4 times...I found this is the only way to avoid the bike fast idling at about 1400 RPM. My Voyager now runs much smoother, much cooler, shifts gears smoother, NO decel exhaust popping and throttle response is crisper...I waited until my bike had 49,000 miles on it to have the flash.....I wish I had done it a long time ago...The idle procedure I describe is not in the instructions but when I called about the idle , I was told to do this and it worked perfectly ! If you own a Voyager or Vaquero I highly recommend the Ivans Performance flash.
Thanks for sharing. I have a 2020 model and I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on this tune. I upgraded the exhaust and it pop's really loud on deceleration due to the air injection system. It does run hot in stop and go and on long trips using the foot pegs, especially on the right side. Overall, I love the bike and what it has to offer, especially for the price point. Glad you are happy. Enjoy the open road!
I installed the Ivan's flash on my 2022 Kawasaki vaquero, happy with it, no more backfire. I disconnected the 02 sensor, per the instructions. Now my ABS light will not turn off?? Have you heard of this happening? Thank You
Got my ecu back from Ivan and now my exhaust is quieter. I’m not happy about that. I paid good money for a louder exhaust then I paid Ivan to ruin the sound. lol. How does your exhaust sound compare after the tune?
How does it feel Under 2000rpm? I had my 2010 done (Ivan’s) and if I don’t use the clutch when I’m slowing down (coming under 2000 rpm the engine braking is so bad the bike is crazy jerky)
The kawasaki is literally half the price, and for many of us it's a much better riding experience. Goldwimgs are 2 wheel honda accords, good for old people and cross country touring. They are also extremely cramped for bigger riders.
