I am never tired of listening to Dr Ivan Van Sertima Professor Emeritus. I have listened to these lectures many times. How I wish he was still alive. I just love the way he raises his voice when he wants to accentuate a point. So erudite, so transparent and so distinct.
Why wish he was still alive when we can make him alive? By being the change he is calling for, empower your mind and go conquer the world. Share this to awaken the many bros and sis still asleep. To the one who is using this as bed time story, this isn't fairy tail bro! No, nooooh, you should listen to it at the zenith of your mind to grasp it fully and achieve its lesson. This calls for actions, not inaction...action to educate ourselves, to acquire the most profound knowledge and go reconquer and dominate the world as we did before, longer than anyone else. Let us wake up from this lethargic current state and retake our place as the originators of civilization on earth.
Culture appropriation and black washing history at it is best !! Hay transatlantic wabo , go get your DNA done !! You talk the talk but can you walk the walk !! You look infused with Vanilla genes .. talk about your tribe in west Africa !!
Yes because he fills you ego with lies !! Man ,, the white supremacy really messed all of you up !! You can’t stand the part of Africa you came from !! You hate it and more ,, you look down on your kin ,, bravo
This brother Dr Ivan Van Sertima is a genius, I see in many comments people wish he was still here, remember God has a time for everything, I’m grateful for the time this great brother had with us, he got his message across. We miss him but there could be another one out there like him.
Those who have ears to hear will hear and those who have eyes to see will see and to them, the truth shall be revealed. I give thanks for the time our brother Dr Ivan Van Sertima took to research and impart this knowledge that I too can learn about my history.
I would like to introduce you to the Kindle eBook on Amazon called MIND'S EYE VISION written by the Jamaican author named Keagan Caea. Everyone of African descent should read this book, for it will remove the veil that has been placed over our eyes and break the chains that have been used to shackle our minds.
Dr. Van Sertima’s work is so significant, I couldn’t wait to get his books! I’m so glad they made his work available for free download, to share this knowledge. All of his books for free at Scribd!❤
He's one of our most respected and articulate black Afrikan scholar/historian teachers of the 20th century. He had taught and woken up many others who follow on his footsteps. Perhaps, I'm one of those. Thanks.
Virgilius the people depicted on the inside of the temple walls, sculpture and art in Egypt are not Europeans or Asians. I’ve been there 3 times. You actually have to go there and see it with your own eyes. The mummies you speak of are from the New Kingdom period after Egypt had been invaded and colonized by whites from the North and via the Arabian peninsula on the East.
I will always love and honor my wonderful ancestors, including this one. His passion evokes the same passion in me. This passion drives my curiosity and hunger for knowledge, which I pass on every chance I get.
This was one inspiring documentary I've ever heard it made me so proud of myself that I've ever felt thanks to Dr, Ivan Van Sertima I look at myself differently.
This man was a true hero for all of humanity. Passionate, articulate, educated, along with a plethora of other adjectives. Thank you for your powerful knowledge and wisdom.
Boy oh boy , I gotta say it again . This man drops jewels . You can have power but no sense and guess what , you will do nothing with it ! He is so right . Like Marcus Garvey and others , this man should be an icon and all the others who strives and learned the truth to bring it To us .
@EuropaNostra So you didn't hear the part when he said "the u.s president is no more native american than modern day majority egyptians" (paraphrased) He clearly adressed your point in the beginning. Also Afro-arabians do exist. I have lived in egypt and am from North philly, I have spoken arabic my entire life and part of my family hails fron the region. I know what egyptians think and most of it comes from american colonial mentalities, the fact that france colonized egypt and a host of black countries and the fact that arabs had a slave trade that lasted centuries. None of this has any bearing on who the original egyptians are which would be black africans. For any who haven't gone, egypt is a lovely place full of lovely people. Racial attitudes are often not as overt (much less than america) and people are extreamly tolerant of most things. The racism in egypt is of the global brand exported by the west mostly and not a particular variety specific to egypt, there are arab societies that are completely Anti-black in their ideals but this is not one of them. Sudan and ethiopia surround the country and education and people flow back and forth not to mention there are black egyptians as is stated in this talk. Visit and fall in love ✌
All we seek is inside of us and documented by those before us. May we study daily and write and document our genius. Dr. Sertima, I’ve been paying attention since a boy and well equipped because of it. 💥 ✨ ❤️
Our ancestors are greatest , WE have the duty to bé proud of what they achieve ! And WE have to become hardworkers to retake our frame rank , as the Real leadership of the planet Earth !
Especially for Black Live Matter ''We can not advance by shouting big black slogans because you may be big and black but have to know knowledge in your head''. ''Drawing upon our past we can recreate ourselves the quality of the present thereby projecting ourselves into a totally different future''. Ivan Van Sertima This is exactly what is happening today in America. It's like a slave that wants to escape but does not think about a complete plan-a, b, and c.
This man is one of my heroes. I read they came before Columbus and I have read from Babylon to Timbuktu I'm not sure if he's the writer of the latter. I'm happy to find this post because I've never seen Tha Man in person nor have I heard his voice!!!
They came before Columbus is delusional trash. Completely made up fantasy. Information n the book was never peer reviewed and when it was reviewed it was discredited. Afrocentric nonsense.
I thank my family of history or her-story for sharing these profound words. No matter what has been done to the truth, it will always rise to the surface. The key now is how we process these truths. There is a divine reason for receiving this knowledge at this point in time. Bless our teacher for helping us on this journey. RIP
We really are all the same. This speech completely changed my life when I first saw it. It just goes to show that the constructs of race, social class, and culture are ridiculously asinine. We don’t need this anymore. Every member of the human race, regardless of how they look, are “African” but they’re all unique in the way that their ancestors explored and settled in different parts of the world. We’re all different, but we’re also the same. “Albinos” and “Neanderthals” are our brothers. A very important thing to remember about Dr. Van Sertima is that he was NOT an “Afrocentrist” like some “historians” would claim. He didn’t believe in the superiority of any creed. He only believed in history, the history of man. This ideology should be implemented in schools around the world, but as we all know, the constructs of race and culture diminish any possibility of this happening. It’s pitiful, but we can still hope…
Baba Ivan van Sertima is an outstanding scholar amongst Africans at home and abroad. Baba van Sertima teaches about Africans that migrates in Russia, India, Spain, China and Iraq. Baba van Sertima he’s also a journalist especially his Journal of African Civilisation in Mexico, China, India etc. Ase o Ase Baba Ivan van Sertima
This is an excellent presentation which I have heard before, however, there now seems to be a problem with the audio. It is so important that this great African legend be heard.
Does Dr. Ivan Van Sertima know that the ancient Sudanese Nubian civilisation predates the later Egyptian civilisation?...Does he know that the ancient Sudanese Nubians fought wars even with the Greeks etc.?
God through the many elders of Black greatest past and present have laid the blue print for the resurrection of our spiritually dead minds after centuries of global oppression by groups of peoples that we have given birth. We have been living in the furnace of affliction since 4oo4 BC to the present for a little over 6,000 years But God is present today and is revisiting the earth as he has promised to us. Watch the weather and the sky we were told in this day.
1. To those who believe the ancient Egyptians were mostly black. What happened to the majority black populations of Cairo and Alexandria? Why are the people of those two cities mostly non black today? 2. If the ancient Egyptian population was primarily black why would they make use of sunscreens? "In fact, sunscreen was used by ancient Egyptians. The Egyptians were known to use rice bran extracts, jasmine and lupine extracts as a sunscreen because they realized these ingredients had the ability to absorb the sun’s very strong rays. These chemicals are still used today in some of the modern sunscreen products." Source: History of Sunscreen by Andrew Rubin
For the same reason that America is mostly white today and many other countries that they live around the world same as Arabs. They committed genocide on the Native Red Indian populations pushing them out just like Arabs their cousins have done in all of north Africa today. Black original people created by Allah.
@@aujus5735 Do you know how many of those foreign rulers of anciet Egypt settled in Egypt after their takeovers? What were their numbers in comparison to the native Egyptian population?
I've honestly learned more in life through music and hip hop than I have through schooling, so I'm not surprised. What's the Nas connection here? I'm curious.
@@durauntejackson1971 😓 How'd I miss that! I literally listened to that album back and forth when it came out. I think I was so blown away by Nas verifying UFO activity on that song--"ask Horse if I'm lyin"-- to dig deeper into the lyrics, and I'll be dammed, Ivan Van Sertima is explicitly named. I should've been studying and reading his works years ago, but I stumbled into him at my own pace (when the student is ready, the teacher appears). @Durante Jackson, you, my good sir, made the connection 'back home' to familiar territory. I love finding gems of knowledge in hip hop, so when you replied immediately with the song....💥💥💥 Much gratitude, peace, and blessings to you, brother 🙏🏿🙌🏿 ✊🏿 P.s. I've listened to a few tracks from Nas' new Kings Disease 2, and it's pretty tough. Wonder what you think of it. Also wondering what jewels will shake loose from this album nearly a decade later. At any rate, N, the album is probably my favorite Nas album.

Part of the problem people will have with this is due to how postmodern people look at the ancient world. The ancient world is seen as backwards or at best limited . Not as the home of numerous civilizations , not in which there was science let alone scientific achievements , not in which there was mathematics. Therefore it is not an usual leap that people would find it hard to accept Nubians or blacks in Egypt and as creators and inventors .

I have always asked.why did so many wealthy European , would go to Africa for studies and research. If Africa was as bad and dangerous as they said. The Bible plainly speaks of Africa/ Egypt and the land of Canaan. Here in America many of our cities or states have been named ,the name such as those that have been heard in Africa. after my own research I found that we've been given a false narrative of Africa as well as America by the Europeans and Great Britain.
The truth is in our languages.African words and names tell stories of our being, science and civilisations. We need to stop just talking and relearn the meaning of our land.
