Iana dances like an angel, calm and understated in her brilliance. Ivan lifts her like a feather, and dances with strength and agility. Amazing contrasts and a wonderful performance.
Iana Salenko est pour moi dans le classement des dix meilleures danseuses au monde, au même titre que Jurgita Dronina, Nela Nunez, Paloma Herrera, ou bien Isabelle Ciaravola pour ne citer qu'elles. Iana Salenko is for me in the ranking of the ten best dancers in the world, just like Jurgita Dronina, Nela Nunez, Paloma Herrera, or Isabelle Ciaravola to name but a few.
What a coda! I would imagine they don't dance together very often, but they had the dynamic Fonteyn and Nureyev used to have where he is a little wild and she is all elegance. And they got one of the good film editors who doesn't feel it's necessary to change the camera angle every 2 measures. Thanks, Dance Open, for introducing me to Selenko!
They are perfection! I have never seen a bad video of Ivan Vasiliev, or not even one where he would be average. This guy is incredible. They both have a crazy balance. This is a great pas de deux.
@@isamm5579 There's actually one video of him in Flames of Paris where he starts to lose it doing I think tours in second and instead of just collapsing out of it, he turns it into what is called an illusion spin in figure skating and then picks up the movement again. He's astonishing!
@@minissa2009 Hi there! (Do you remember that video of Swan lake by the POB that got deleted and the topic with it?) I'm searching for that variation of Ivan Vasiliev you're talking about and I don't find it. I'm not crazy about Flammes de Paris because it is one more wrong representation of what Paris is - was - seen by other countries. So, Ivan Vasilev is human?
@@isamm5579 lols yes! The FoP snippett is in a "ballet fail" video by one of the frequent ballet posters like flotteluft. Just him, I think Oksana Skorik (problem with hops on pointe in Giselle) and the rather infamous Misty Copeland fouettes. You can still find a POB Swan Lake because I just watched one with Sylvie Guillem. First time an Odette has brought me to tears just from her entrance! Do you want me to see if I can track down the link? And I guess she and Selenko both have instances of human-ness but they're so good otherwise you don't care. I guess the fouettes are Selenko's trademark? I've never seen a sequence of 1-3-2 followed by a bunch of doubles!
@@minissa2009 I found it. Vasiliev looks like he's having fun, I love it. I am a big fan of Oksana Skorik, I know she's had many injuries and she's been through hard times, and I think she's one of the greatest ballerinas now, and it was predictable. So she can make any mistake, to me she's elegance, talent, has an insane turnout and is a strong human being. You know, the one person you like so much that you always find an excuse for her mistakes. The Misty Copeland fouettés, my God, what happened? She does, let's say, ten, and that strange manège on the stage? I have to watch more of Selenko, I haven't until now. See you!
MOLTO BRAVI. BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO
I know I’ll get shot down for this and it’s just y opinion - and insoooo respect tradition vut I really wish they’d change those guys from wearing a feather on their heads!! I’ve seen it all ways. I think it’s Polinun, wears it flat on his head. It sometimes wobbles all over the place.it distracts from the movements. One tends to watch the darn feather instead of the dance.. as I said, just y opinion 🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
+Myrddin Wyllt She was doing doubles and triples fouettes, so it's understanded if she doesnt get it, and It was at the end..... her technique is exquisite
+Nalanell Mos - thank you Nalanell you took the words right out of my mouth, only I wouldn't have been so nice. I don't understand why people think it's okay to come on the internet and cut down one of today's top prima ballerinas in her prime!
OMG, were you counting? She did single, triple, double cleanly for the first 16 counts, then all doubles. I'd give her a break on the one where she didn't get up onto pointe. She recovered for a very nice finish.
