They are just able to see 20 moves down the line that gives them confidence to just sacrifice in such manner. We would all get cold feet doing the same.

*Lectures about chess games to know by heart* *Looks at moves in a book all the time* Nah, but in all seriousness I love Yasser and WHAT A GAME. "Just sleep, and then create something special if it's possible" - Ivanchuk

7:13 it's like a tiger. 7:39 but be very very careful about inviting a tiger to dinner - the tiger may have you for dinner 37:39 the irony is, if you look a that very final position - the tiger on e3 - that was invited ... was forced by white [...] is still there. And he had white for dinner

Yasser could do a series of video analysis just on 25 Nce7+! alone. It's a shame Ivanchuk missed that. If you have Yasser's book Winning Chess Brilliancies, play over those variations after 25 Nce7+! - fun and instructive stuff. Yaz credits GMs Larry C and Willy Watson for helping him with the analysis. IIRC, the ICC lecture bot refuted some of that analysis but I doubt it's posted anywhere.

Yasser - I am thoroughly enjoying your lectures - they are lengthy, but very detailed - a bit different than Mato Jelic or Rick from Chess to Impress - both great chess analysts, BTW.. I do hope you're in Madison, WI, next year for the 2018 US Chess Championship. I would love to say "hi". I intend on taking vacation days to watch those games.

At the position with black to move that is being discussed at ~29:00, how about knight to f2, then next to h1, then to g3? After the first knight move, the rook on d1 has to move or be lost for the knight; if the rook moves, then when the knight moves to h1 the white bishop can't take it because mate would follow; when the black knight next moves to g3 white has to take the black knight with the f5 knight or it's mate, but then the black queen recaptures on g3 and I don't see how white staves off queen to f2 mate on the next move.

In the position at 17:18 Yasser suggests the move h5 for black, but what if white replies h4? Black doesn't seem able to respond with Nxh4 because it's met by Bf4 attacking the queen with then threats of Nce7+ after. Isn't the line he is proposing just refuted immediately after h4?

It is a shame that chess engines are the bane of human analysis and the destroyer of human imagination. In the position at 18:02 Stockfish prefers the move played, Qh5, with +0.27 over the move suggested by Yassar, fg, with +0.17 after 34 ply of search. Of course Yassar can take on Stockfish with his assertion that fg is overwhelming. It would be wonderful for humanity if Yasser can prove that he is correct! However, if the total negation of humanity's mind by machines is not here yet that day is coming. Addendum: At ply 35, Qh5, +0.82, fg +0.00!

Usually when you mean moves with black you start with "...", so in this case 1. ...f3 However the white bishop on d6 targets the black queen on h2, so you'd lose your queen! 2. Bxh2
