Watching this video honestly gives me a lot more confidence than I had while starting it. I kept comparing my profile to the ones described in the video and as I felt it leaning more and more towards the elitist profile I found myself feeling more and more relieved. This was a great video for reassurance to stick through this journey and was much needed during the boards pressure. Thank you so much ma'am you're always the best!!!
Glad I could get the point across! It's not the profile and numbers that makes your profile elite, it's you as a student and how you choose to present it 💪🏼
This video was really well made and it released so much of my self-doubt and boosted my confidence. I would constantly compare my profile with others and come up with the conclusion that it is not enough, but this video gave out the needed clarity over great essays for simple things. Thank you so much, ma'am, you are literally a life saviour and all the best to the crazy medusa channel!
As a rising senior this video has been extremely helpful at both calming some nerves, and giving really good advice on how to market myself in the admissions process!
I am from USA, but I originally moved from Bangladesh during my middle school. Honestly, I was not expecting that I would know this much information in such a short video! Very well said and I am also feeling very good after you said how professors also want to know what pushed me into certain competitions rather than just what you got at the end. Have a great one!
This is incredibly helpful! Thank you. As an international student I lack a lot of context. This detailed video gave me great insights into the ideal student profile.
I really really wish that you posted this video a year earlier. It would’ve been so helpful. I got rejected by 3 Ivies and waitlisted by 2 and no acceptance. And a lot of other colleges I applied waitlisted me. After watching you, it just hit me like some part of my resume is average profile and while another part is elite profile.
This is very helpful. I am in 7th grade but I still am Interested in learning about collages and being prepared. I would love to get into an Ivy league school as it would give me ample opportunity to learn about my chosen field to study. Ivy league schools provide a rigorous academic course. In addition, many jobs would take me more seriously when looking at my resume. This was very Informative. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm a brazilian high school student preparing myself to get into a ivy league college, a very big chalenge, expecialy because the way that the aplications happens here in Brazil is totally diferent of the USA way to analise a profile. So, again, thank you so much for introducing that matter in a very incredible way.
if anybody sees this comment ; we’re in it together. let’s heal and change and become better for ourselves and the ones we love through our own strength because we are capable! trust in yourself
can you make a vidoe abt how should the common app application look for someone who is applying after a gap year? Discuss the parts where gap year students should focus on more, tell what is different in their application from the "non-gap year" applicants and tell the way the admission comittee assesses such kind of applications etc. I think that this is a demanding topic with a lot of unanswered questions. I rarely see common app guides for the "gap year students", despite the fact that almost 30%+ of high school graduates take a gap year
Hi Saloni, the way you are doing videos are too good. I would request more videos on scholarships? Preferably full raid in IVY and non IVY leagues. Activities Vs weightage. Apart from academics.
The Tier 1 school that seems to reject the most students out of the big 5 ....Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale, Stanford....is most definitely Stanford, they are extremely particular , and this video basically covers part of it ..I was able to crack the code by actually consulting with a former Stanford Admissions Committee Officer , $300 an hour step by step consulting that is
Thank you so muchhh for really useful content, im a future international student and this video helped me a lot with steps of applying particularly extracurricular activities
Thank you for such an informative video. I'm going to high school this year and I'm so grateful for this video because it taught me what i should focus on. glad to have found this early on so that I know to further develop my skills in the passion project i'm invested in, rather than focusing solely on acads and test scores.
My school has GT/AA which is Gifted and Talented / Advanced Academics. It's right in between honors and AP and gives the same gpa boost as AP but you don't take the AP test.
As a prospective undrgad student , I really wanna know about the AP courses and the sources available in India to prepare Your videos help a lot !! Thanks
I am B.A graduate and currently I'm working as an HR recruiter. I wanna pursue MBA from USA to excell my skills and profile. I'm not from a loaded family therefore I can't afford study from USA but I have strong desire to complete my MBA from USA. My academic grades are excellent. Could you please suggest me what should I do ????
First of all a great handoff to your honesty and hardwork for creating such a useful videos. Could you do a video regarding to universities in US offering Artificial Intelligence Course for the upcoming year 2024
AP is not difficult, if anything it's more of knowing how to take the TEST like the ACT. You need to know the material, but knowing the exam is gonna bost your score a lot more than material knowledge.
please make a seprate video on how to make our profile because it's quite confusing and also on hpow to apply for visa and when and how to prepare for that
heyyy im in grade 9 ib and going to grade 10 i am kind of confused with what course i should do but i want it to science and maths related how do u think i should go about this???
Please make a video about the US education system and how it is different from the Asian system. What new things do Asian students face in US universities. It will help me to prepare myself for the future.
First of all….thanks a lot for all these amazing and extremely helpful videos ……as a transfer student what should we do to increase our acceptance in ivy leagues and tier 1 universities??
as i said in the video, after grades all that matters is how you present your profile, and how much you spend on doing extracurricular activities to stand out!
hi , loved the video , could you maybe make a separate video about how do apply for scholarship , as in which part of the admission process do I ask or mention about the scholarship
Ma'am 😊 Sharing this kind of stealth informations and teaching pure knowledge... Is just Great!... in one word. And I have a question that can we submit just 10th and 12th grade marks...And avoid 9th and 11th... ?
Questions: -For grades (class 12,11,10,9) is it the avg grade for all subjects or just some specific subject? -Where can I practice AP&SAT and what learning sources are the best? -Does certificates from op learning courses like coursera or some Uni program matter? Please respond to my questions.. And tysm for the vid&knowledge
1. An average from all classes 2.getting a tutor would be the best but I hear there are a lot of free sources so you should probably search that up. 3.depends on the school but last time I checked the ivs mit and Standford don't take those into account
@@Alexgamer-wx1hs Thanks a lot, but for 1 my religious school contains subjects like Religion, Quran, PPKN, and crafts, other than general ones like science, math, and english.. So does it still matter? For 2, where do you find your tutor? Which web/app/place? What is 1 web/app/book that you recommend?
No wonder admission in such universities is tough most of the students present the end result but the real key is what pushed you they want free thinkers not a machine who starts when someone tells them
Listen, im from Australia and haven't even considered applying for an ivy league yet, but the elite profile is litterally so close to what I have. Should I consider applying to an ivy league?
hi ma’am . wanted you guidance regarding an issue . I am a Ba Hons Political Science student, graduating this year. However i have recently realised that my academic interest lies more towards psychology , something that i would want to peruse from an International institution , preferably in the US. However upon checking the eligibility criteria for certain universities, they mention graduation in psychology or a related subject . Ma’am please guide me as to what would be the next best step as i am really keen on going ahead in this direction
Can I still mention a professor's name particularly even if i was never connected to him for any kind of research or program of the university? I mean if i put a professor's name i found out by researching about the college and my intended major or courses?
If I have not scored good grades enough in those 4 yrs can you please tell what can I do to cover that up ? Class 9-89 percent Class 10- 93 percent Class 11-70 percent Class 12-74 percent Jee mains 75 percentile Didnt clear mains and then I m also not SAT and TOEFL Qualified... will give this time... Plz tell me what can I do to cover up...as I am a pcmb student and wanted to pursue BTech for further studies...
Omg this video was really helpful💕thankss. By the way, I got straight A's in all my classes, I am the president of several clubs at my school, I did 150 hours of volunteer work, I also have some other extracurricular activities. I scored 1560 on the SAT but I couldn't join the IB program or take any AP classes because my school didn’t have those programs. Do you think I can get accepted to top universities without AP or IB?
i recommend AP exams to all students because thats what I have noticed for all the students who got into ivy leagues, it shows academic rigor in a student which is a strong factor for applications. Again, since you can't give AP right now for fall 2025 just apply with what you have which is honestly not bad at all :)
Can you tell me which are the university i have chance to get in? Can I get a fully funded scholarship or any scholarship? Do I have to apply now ? I just asked you on live (I am a 12 th grade student, lam intersted in psychology .I had 96% on my 10 th board,71% in my 11 th exam and my 12 th exam is next week .Is there any chance to scholarship for me to study abroad) can you plz tell me the all details Lot of thanks for your video's
Can I do internships during my A levels to make my personal statement look good for college applications? My O-levels will be finished by June. I will start AS-level classes in July.
mostly for undergraduate, as colleges tend to look at activities outside of school a lot! For graduate in general other than having a wholesome profile- a lot of focus is shed on academic projects!
Two questions: Does it make my statement stronger mention more than on faculty member/lab in the essay? In the sample you showcase in the video 10:50 you invest the connection to the program in only one professor, why this?
Hello, I am a junior, I don’t get good grades in class 9th and 10th but now I am trying hard and I had also done some activities in 10th standard , I got silver medal in Kho Kho and gold medal in exhibition which was a best out of waste it was about WATERFALL OF MANIPUR and I also volunteered in jal jeewan misssion which was a project for save water and supply of water in small towns and I am still doing it and recently I also volunteered in free summer camp which teach various activities like classical dance,English spoken, martial arts, etc to students and adults who cannot afford expensive coaching classes and I also donate old clothes, books , stationeries for poor people every Christmas, I am doing this from 8 years and now I also got 70% scholarship in Aakash institute which helps students preparing for jee and neet exam, it was basically pre medical and pre engineering exams and now I am cold emailing to professers for research projects. Do I have a chance to get in Ivy League university. Please reply back 🙏
Hi, I want to know if the gpa marks are less(75%) but high/pretty good in other test scores like sat,AP, and extracurricular activities are there any chances for getting into ivy college. Do academic scores weigh more the other tests? Pls give me an guidance on this 🙏
Hi! I saw your question and wanted to share what I've heard :) GPA and academic scores/ tests are very important, but if you feel that they aren't as strong, you can always work to strengthen your extracurriculars and outside activities. It always helps if you can demonstrate leadership, etc., in your ECs
can you talk about community colleges also, scholarship after transfer, transfer options, is it worth it, can i get into ivy league off a community college.
can you create a video showing the process for international students trying to get into a US college and how to take AP courses/tests with any advice (...maybe tag me in the comments?)
I am 20 year old right now in 2nd year of Polytechnic, Completed my 11th and 12th with Commerce during COVID-19, also in between i caught with the covid missed my online classes for a long time and didn't score well, it was 63% in 12th and 75% in 11th. Now took admission in Polytechnic (3 year course in Automobile Engineering) and want to pursue undergrad in Automobile Engineering itself, is it possible? My over-all profile is below average, although i am improving on my grades in polytechnic, also I am running an online car parts store since a long time and made good money out of it, also I know Automobile Sketching and Learning AudoCAD and other 3d designing softwares. I don't want to apply for Ivy league but i am also fine with Tier 2-3 Universities in US/Canada. I am keen to study in best Engineering Unis who offer Automotive Engineering Major. And here are my Questions 1. Will I get admission? 2. How much financial aid/scholership i can expect? And 3. Is it still possible to get admission into top engineering unis? Edit: my family's financial background is weak, I am fine with taking an Education Loan.
Honestly I think I have an excellent profile for an ivy but I haven't really taken any exams like toelfs or ielts, and highly doubt I will cause I have no money for them, so I guess I´ll always wonder what could have been if I had applied
I've a question. In my 9th and 10th grade due to covid restrictions I was not able to do any extracurriculars, but in my 11th grade I'll be starting a finance website where I'll post article about finance industry and a monthly magazine. I'll be choosing a finance major for my undergrad, my grades are decent about 90 %. Can I still make to some top universities of USA? It would be a great help if you reply.
I can't answer this with 100% certainty as you can guess from the video, it really depends on how you present your profile in the best way possible, but yes grades and the website idea sounds great!
