Well, it took me awhile but I finally figured out that the Spitfires are both late model clipped wing Mk. IXe variants. I wonder where they found two of them. Sure glad they are still around, though.
Elegant, beautifully done commercial. Imaginative, superbly written and performed. The creative director did a brilliant job. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
You didnt' get the point, or you are just not a pilot. A REAL pilot knows they are NOT pilots but bus drivers and DREAMS about to fly a REAL plane with no computer between his hands and the control surfaces. Nowadays a watch it's a "pilot's gear" because it's nothing else but a fancy piece, but they use to be a navigation tool as before computers, navigation was performed using maps, rhumbs and time, and they needed a highly precise and reliable watch Thats' a clue about this movie it's about. making long story short, what IWC want to say it's: "if you consider yourself a REAL pilot, then this is your watch".
The role of the modern pilot has changed.if you don’t evolve with the times you’ll be extinct. Pilot is and always will be a pilot doesn’t matter if it’s a spitfire a dc 3 or a a350.
While that is true, there is a big difference between old school pilots who learned how to fly CAT III approaches with steam gauges and modern pilots who most of the time, have glass cockpits. A colleague of mine pilots a DC-6 in Alaska. Having flown with just steam gauges myself, and still do, let me tell you, it`s a lot more challenging. Flying IFR in an A350 or a DC-6 are two complete different leagues. Aircraft crashed because pilots rellied solely on the automation to fix the problem. Some pilots look at automation like it`s the solution for every problem rather than looking at it as a third crew member who needs to be monitored aswell. That`s what I do. Now, don`t get me wrong here, I am with you regarding keeping up with time. After all, automation made Aviation safer. Atleast for a while. Until complacency started to set it. I enjoy a nice glasscockpit just as much as steam gauges. But as a pilot you need to adapt fast. When I have screens in front of me, I cross check them. Just like steam gauges.
@@BlackFoxFalcon the first aircraft to do a cat 3 approach and autoland was a trident . Also I don’t think it’s possible to manually fly a cat3 approach specially considering the minimas are 50 ft or lower and that damn ILS is near impossible to follow that close to the runway. I don’t think it’s legal either
This message is likely to put off potential buyers. After all, if those two modern day pilots aren't worthy of this pilot's watch, what does that say about us?

Great video, love the Spitfires and the tri-motor. Sad to say that it's true that most of today's pilots don't have the mettle of the old school pilots. *sigh*
this "tri-motor" is Junkers Ju-52 "great aunt" - one of the most luxury passenger plane before WW II /bomber during Spanish cyvil war, transport during WWII/ - IWC pilots series are based on both Spitfire AND Ju-52 planes.
What were IWC thinking! Why have they made 8 minutes of parody, that's a lot of irony to sustain. Ridiculous machismo stereotypes and cheesy soft focus filming. I don't get it... Is it serious, really ? Or are they just larking around?

What do you mean I didn't get it? All you've done is repeat the story of the film. There's no sophistication for me to miss in the first place. A third grader would have understood its a story about the romance of pre-digital flying. That doesn't alter the fact its kitch, unsubtle, soft focus, and so bad they're knowingly breaking the 4th wall with a wink at the audience. *No, I'm not a REAL (sic) pilot.
