Please don't buy this under any circumstances. This is definitely not worth it. I buy these so you don't have to. For $200 AUD...yeah just don't even look at it. Thank you for another fun video as well as the extracted files. Since you want us to let you know whether you should keep doing it, I'm here to ask you to keep doing this. Cheers!
One strange thing though: the wallpapers you showed in the video were actually nowhere to be found in that package… at least not as legible picture files. Not that I would need them (I mainly hoard ringtones for no good reason); I just thought it was interesting. Maybe someone here will know more.
I look forward to your videos every week! Thank you for all you do! I love every minute of the hour long videos, and kinda wish I can find these devices at local flea markets or pawn shops but none of those phones would have ever worked over stateside
I think one of my favorite parts of these videos is your clever use of the L.A. Noire soundtrack. It took me watching a few to figure out why the music sounded so familiar!
[Doubt] "Listen here, mr 'dudepersonsonvids', if that's even your real name! I know you're playing us out! You're telling us that it you multiple videos to realise it was the main menu music of L.A. Noire? If you don't start admitting the truth, I'll have to take it by force."
16:36 I still use the Phase Beam live wallpaper to this day! 😁. It's my all time favorite live wallpaper. I currently have it running on my Galaxy S21 Ultra lol.
You didn't even have to test the microSD-card to know it's fake, because it says "microSDHC on it, but SDHC only goes up to 32GB. A 256GB card should have "microSDXC" on it.
Thanks for this, saved me from a baaad decision! Really disgusted by these products and the people who put them out. Why would they not just be honest about the device, they would still move some products, not everyone wants a flagship phone after all.
There's plenty of good, cheap phones out there that aren't flagship that actually are what they say they are by decent companies. Nobody should buy this crap regardless of the lies. You can get much better for the price.
lol, "most of the time their crap...but you never know" I am getting my first Wish phone hopefully by the end of the month, these clone phones just fascinate me for some reason. What I like about your videos, and you're a major influence on me doing this stuff myself on my channel, is that you actually use these phones.
Wow, they REALLY SPLURGED with the shiny tape to cover the "Disdained to croissant by the FAQ baconator" information! They could have used like a piece 1/10 of that area!
I've done reviews on cheaper devices but I become more serious and take on a more professional approach. With clone devices, I like to just crack a joke and have a laugh. You can see the differences from my videos where I have reviewed budget devices compared to clones.
Their version of "Tested to comply with FCC Standards" at the back is quite something. But they corrected part of it on the Wish photo they put Samrt phone or something like that and correct on the final product. An improvement ha ha.
I don't buy from Wish but I can confirm there are some insanely good phones for next to no money an Aliexpress. You just need to know which brands are the great ones.
9:46 Interesting, my Xperia X restarts on its own if it crashes/lags. It is a bit spooky that it just does it on its own, but also no hassle, so... Btw I bought my Xperia X for 146 AUD, so this crap is overpriced in my opinion. Sure, I bought it during last units sale, but it is better than this junk. So I recommend getting old model rather than a chinese knock-off. Sure, 6-core is pretty useless for gaming, but I got PC for games. I use phone for RU-vid (which looks amazing in FullHD), taking photos with my 23 MPx camera, listening to music. Just perfect media device.
We had 2 good Welcomes, x21 because cheap, real fingerprint and same specs as this and x23 because mtk6737, same as my old Nokia 3, 32 gb and 2 gb of ram.
You might have to flash the firmware to make that motherboard swap work. different displays require different drivers. I messed up a welcome phone with the wrong firmware. it flashed, but because it was the wrong phone, the screen just lit up. flashed the right one, and it worked again
@@SweetTodd not exactly. think of it like a set of instructions for how to power on the backlight and put the image on the screen, it's got specific instructions for different displays, like of how your computer needs to install a driver for a new device.
Interesting that you describe oppo as a budget brand. My oppo is the best phone I have ever owned. Unfortunately I broke the screen and keep forgetting to have it fixed but that's another story. Currently I have a Motorola G9 which is fine. Also has a cracked screen but functional. Turns out phones and hands on jobs don't mix
I think it would be awesome if you could build the ultimate welcome phone. I would buy one if you can build one that blows flagships out of the water at a budget price. Of course it would have to support US bands for LTE. Also a tutorial how to swap out a micro USB for a type C. My all time favorite phone the nexus 6 has a bad charger port and nobody seem to be able to work on motorola phones
@@kupokinzyt you cannot flash an upgraded is on a device if the upgraded is hasn't been tweaked for your specific device. Otherwise all older and exotic devices could receive any newer OSs, is it the case? No it's not.
@@kupokinzyt No problem :) Edit : I have just realized how broken my English was. Partly because of autocorrection on my phone, partly because of my limited brain lol.
I would kill for a reset button on my Note 8. It doesn't hard lock much, but when it does it can force you to hold in the keys to reset for literally 5 minutes (seems like an exact amount of time so Samsung are sadists).
Hi, one people I know bought one of these, welcome s30 "ultra" or whatever and I advised him to try to get his money back but I'm just wondering if it is possible to install custom firmware and recovery to somehow use it without all the crap they installed and make it more transparent...
I got my realme 5 for $60 welp it's not brandnew but it's in a really good condition when I bought it I'd rather buy secondhand phones than buying that crappy welcome phone like for $100 in my country can get you a pocophone f1s that has 6GB ram 128GB storage and powered by snapdragon 845 it's just really fun to watch you diving into buying this stuff and the fact that a lot people here gets fooled by it
how to make a welcome phone : you take a phone put random bad parts in it and rip some thing of many other big brands phone then name it a famous phone name
The most flagship current real model in Samsung Galaxy S series is S21 Ultra (6.8 inch 1440p). But the Chinese counterfeiters could go further to S30 Ultra Plus Pro (7.2 inch)
Please, dont test free fire anymore, just test pubg instead. Makes a lotta more sense. This one wasnt so bad. Probably better than the phones of some viewers.
I hate avast when you first get it because you spend lots of time scanning and then it just gives a fake risk so it can set up, then you have to rescan.
Rocking a galaxy A50 here (€200,- new when I got it). It's still working smooth in 99% of my use cases on Android 11. Also gets me through the day easily with Its capable battery. So yeah, price doesn't immediately mean all that much to me.
The thing is, its almost the same as the X3 NFC in terms of features etc. Just a new SoC. I would rather take a look at another brand to add some more variety to the channel. Doing an X3 Pro review may seem like just a slightly updated X3 NFC review if that makes sense?
Is there a 3G shutoff date in Australia yet? Here in the states most of the major carriers are in the process of shutting down their 3g networks. In a matter of a year or so, these devices will be useless in the states. it surprises me they haven't added 4G LTE yet! 2024, my question was answered!
