It's a continual revelation of how pertinent, valuable information can be exchanged between two people AND those lucky enough to eavesdrop that conversation! Thank you.
Great array of interesting, well articulated and usable information in this one. Glad you went over time, it was absolutely worth it! Many thanks to you both. Just a couple of things for the next time, Jonathan; I was listening on headphones and I found the constant rumbling of the lavalier cables really distracting, (my OCD). Couple of overhead shotgun mics next time? Oh, and you guys were almost in white-out on the video too. Other than that - loved it. Prince Charle's vocal formant demonstration was hilariously good. Can't wait for the next one! Thanks again.
Anyone hip on how to shift formants in ableton as Charles mentions around 12:00? Is it the format knob in the vocoder? Or something with complex warping?
u can shift formants by actually putting a audio sample in an audio track in ableton. it literally give u the options in the audio options tab with transpose etc...
Respect the relation in dB with time, you can hear 85dB for 8 houres and with a increase of 3 dB you reduse the time in a half, 88db would be safe for 4 houres and so on
With all due respect to the intelligent concepts and cogent explanations of them, this is VERY difficult to watch - even for the most interested. It is baffling that iZotope - an innovator - would choose to limit a production of this type to a flat image of a conversation of 2 people. It doesn't take a producer (or a rocket scientist) to see that this conversation and all productions of this type literally beg for real audio examples and real mix examples. Also with all due respect, Jonathan is too professorial - his questions should be more to the point. He often rambles and asks the REAL question at the end. Please take this constructively because iZotope products are generally first rate.
