He's played on a lot of Izzy's solo albums. He was also on 117 Degrees, Ride On, On Down the Road, Concrete, and Wave of Heat

Yeah man, I got that record when it came out and I was 13, 41 now and I still love it. It is just too cool of an album. Izzy kicks so much ass!!!!

Well, to be fair, each of the five guys involved in recording AfD was a piece of the puzzle. Izzy's solo songs are cool, like he is, but they lack the anger and intensity that the other 4 guys brought. It's interesting to consider that had Izzy been the usurper of power in GnR, we'd be talking about how Slash or Axl or anyone else was the "secret ingredient" instead. My point is that GnR is one of the rare bands where every musician contributed a very important element to the band's sound. I do agree, though, that Izzy was the bluesy, organic element who happened to contribute the most songs and shape the philosophy of early GnR. As the late Malcolm Young once said "a lot of bands know how to rock, but not many know how to roll". Izzy is one of the few true rock and ROLL musicians still alive and kicking. It's a concept that not even Slash - as accomplished of a musician as he is - understands.

An uncharitable assessment - but not all that inaccurate. Izzy's doing it his way now - after having done it someone else's way long enough. And I'd call that a genuis' prerogative. ... : )
