Dear Mr. Alshoubaki, we all hope that one day all people of the world will gather in their heart and soul to pray for Jerusalem, that it may, at last, justify its name of in Hebrew Yerushalayim "City of Peace" and in Arabic "Al Quds" "Holy City". My early wish was for a two states solution, the State of Palestine with Ramallah as its political and administrative center and the State of Israel with Tel-Aviv as its political and administrative center, with Jerusalem common to both of them as their religious and cultural center. Of course, this was a dream and History often denies the dreamers the fulfillment of their dreams, yet I pray for Palestinian and Israeli mothers not having in the future to mourn for sons anymore.
La meilleure, pour moi, c'est celle de l'auteure originale Naomi Shemer. En plus les circonstances l'expliquaient mieux que tout. Ofra Haza, Yéménite d'origine, nous en a offert aussi une très belle version, quoique peut-être un petit peu trop "orientalisante";-). Mais quelle belle voix ! Hélène Ségara ne s'en sort pas mal du tout. Tout est dans l'émotion que chaque interprète réussit à faire passer. Ainsi, pour les paroles d'Exodus sur la musique d'Ernest Gold, je préfère la voix et les mots de la grande Edith Piaf à celles de Pat Boone. Mais bien sûr tout est question de ressenti et nous avons toutes et tous notre perception des choses. Respect.
