Continue the journey and see what all it takes to fly a slow, no-radio, no navigation, classic thru frigid temps in the heart of the winter in the mountain west. Jughead will leave Snohomish Wa and attempt to take a J-3 from Central Washington to Sheridan Wyoming in one day.

Great trip log, Thanks. I noticed landing in SHR that the official Cub stall warning stayed all the way down. Must have landed a bit fast. :) The lower door of course. Looking forward to the next episode of you and Dakota.

I noticed the same thing. With the VG's on the wing, the three-point attitude results in landing just a little above stall speed at that attitude I suspect.

@@Jugheadf15 Ah. I didn't notice the VGs when you de-frosted the wing. Makes sense that there is a totally different angle of attack at landing speeds. Thanks!

Looks like you had a little crosswind taking on the first T/O of the video, perhaps just the camera view? My longest cold cub trip was 3.5 hrs this past January. I was good, however my feet wasn't!

There was a little crosswind from the right. I also out of convenience simply took an angled takeofff roll across the runway. It wasn't needed due to the wind, but if it makes the takeoff faster, easier and that is the direction I need to go anyway, I'll definitely do that. I use heat pads in the soles of my shoes.
