The tone of this flautist is gorgeous....i'm doing my grade 8 flute and the rondeau is one of the pieces I'm learning. Finding the speed of the runs horrible but this guy's mastered it excellently! It's a nice one when you get it right x
Johann christian Bach was the youngest son of teh famous Johan SEBASTIAN Bach. Johann christian had a student who became as famous as his fahter was: W.A. Mozart. this makes their style of music in a certain kind quite similar.
The pair of natural horns in D gives an extra cheering flavor to whole ensemble. Although I love baroque music, what I miss the most on it is a standard orchestration. On this aspect baroque music is a total mess what tends to generate huge confusions when musicians have to make their minds about orchestration. The big problem is about wind instruments, especially that confusion involving not notated stuffs on flutes: "Is it a baroque transverse flute in D or an alto recorder in F?"
