This song came out in 2016. I got Locked up two times that year was dealing with depression, anxiety, seizures, and I lost a friend a month after. Gun shot. Honestly this guy saved me life. I had to sacrifice myself moving to Mexico, and leaving my parents behind in the US in 2019. It's currently 2023 and I'm seizure free and I'm finally happy . I miss my parents and sister and miss my friend alot. Thank you J.Cole for your guidance 🙏🙏🙏
i feel your bro! i got locked up that year too, got deported after serving almost two years, i would bump 4 your eyez only by j cole in there and cry at night under the sheets...cause i knew i wouldn't be able to be with my three boys that much. now i am in playa del carmen. own my own condo and working everyday to improve. J COLE has got me through so much. I love the man. Be Blessed my boy Kevin keep your head high and your heart pure. LOVE
No Filter People don't like the album because they don't understand the story of James McMillan Jr. (J. Cole's friend) who had a feeling he'd be killed after all the problems with drugs, etc. He'd told Jermaine to send his message to his daughter, that's why it's called 4 Your Eyez Only
I'm convinced 4YEO was an album for his real fans. We the only ones who appreciated it. Not his best in my opinion tho. Born Sinner slept on and FHD fasho his best. His best album song to me tho is Dolla and a Dream III
humble , smart, very talented, honest , not a wave rider, writes own fire , doesnt fuck with other rappers, woke , gives back to comunity instead of buying gold chains or flying out hoes. that ladies and gents is Jermain L. Cole . GOAT.. oh and fuck the haters #Coleworld
I will always come back to this sound . J. Cole wildin' out cause they woking with a u t h e n t I c v i e w s craftin' that crazy flow. All that work payin' off now they album on repeat.
Y'all be hating his albums but once y'all get sober and sit on it for a few months then he provide the films & visuals behind it then y'all be loving it
Kyle Ferguson nah this album was kinda disappointing compared to 2014 FHD now that shit was a classic and they both came out in December but by this time of the year all of FHD's songs were getting crazy radio play still while 4YEO been outta rotation
Joe Ng nah that's not what I'm saying it's jus when u getting radio play still like 5 months after the album been out then u kno u gotta classic Drake ain't ever done that shit. I mean jus face it this ain no classic but it's a good ass album got some hits
my intuition is telling me there'll be better days.. what a music right here a u t h e n t I c v i e w s dun took J. Cole oFf 2 da big leagues and fo dat I will always be super grateful
"See I believe if god is real he'll never judge a man, because he's knows us all and therefore he would understand, the ignorance that make a nigga take his brother life.. the bitterness and pain that got him beating in his wife" straight bars💯🐐
Roman Castro in the words of the beloved t rex "grown man bars are something you gotta deal with, no matter how much fabricated exaggerated shit you say, it wont equal up to this real shit"
Hebrews 4:15 "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin."
I was picking my gf from the airport. I had my EarPods on to this album while driving back home. Thank God my girl understands ma love for Cole, she wasn’t pressed I wasn’t paying her too much attention.
I really am baffled at why the entire album hasn't gained more attention. I don't want to disrespect anyone but sometimes I feel that our generation lacks intellectuals who can appreciate J Cole's meanings behind his songs and that people prefer to hear repetitive lyrics being yelled into a mic.
Laron Jones society doesn't want us to think or exercise our brains They trying to raise a generation of donkey lambs hard working and obedient rather than individuals with critical thinking creativity and the will to express themselves with originality
J Cole preaches the realist shit. People say Kendrick Lamar and Tupac are alike, but I beg the differ. J Coles lyrics is something that Tupac would write. 💯🔥 Cole Is one of the GOATs.
lost one of my childhood best friends recently. as we grew older our lives took two different paths. sadly his path took his life at the age of 19. i still remember the days where we would be outside playing basketball all day long. was a one of the purest souls i ever met and always looked after me even after we got older. i hope change happens in our community. this song reminds me alot of him.
Found this album at a weird time in my life. Lots of acid and lots of verses from this album....kindof changed my entire world. The way I looked at it. This album goes deep 🦋
Tyrone Smith I respect your thoughts people kill me on how we get negative when we express are opinion of our feelings on topics others feel the need to get negative when u do not share there opinion just enjoy the music or leave that simple people is smh jesus man
Ive been struggling with porn addiction, the fact that im born again or at least i claim to be, is really conflicting. I pray today is the last day i succumb to this. I thought of listening to this to kickstart the end of that habit and the fact that this comment was the top one really got me emotional while waiting for the bus😅. Divine intervention, for those who dont believe it, you must really be stubborn not to.

That is what these rap videos should be, filled with meaning and not filled with money, hoes and chains dangling everywhere. Money is not what should control the rap game right now, rap should be about rap.
I'm 32 and the fact that this only has 6 million views is a disgrace. This song deserves billions! Cole is top 5 rapper of all time! I feel bad for this generation, and I'm from several generations before J-cole. In just know real rap when I hear it. Top 5!
We dont have to be as famous as cole to spread that message. Each one of us can make this world better one person at a time. We all need some kind of healing. This song will live forever
I seriously used to condemn this guy but this album changed my whole perspective i went core of his songs and i realised how his lyrics attracts me and defines the same intuition i am living for
@@coralineroberts9369 He didn’t justify anything. He’s saying that GOD is more understanding than what the Bible portray em as. He’s not necessarily good or bad. God wouldn’t give you a punishment such as hell because he knows & felt the same pain you felt and what would lead you to do whatever you did. Not to justify the actions but alleviate the thoughts of eternal punishment, going to hell because of ignorance or mistakes. Sin is a mistake even if intentional because we do not know of what we do.(We Come In This World With ZERO ANSWERS) We all make mistakes but the goal in life is to evolve. A understanding father would give us how ever many chances and freedom of choice because he truly wants the best for you and for you to realize that yourself’ he did create you why would he want different. Do Not live in fear of going to hell or punishment or judgement but live in love knowing our father understands us and that he’s with us to move forward and wants us to evolve. Love you brother/sister. Peace 2 Yu All
@@zamthemighty6775 I get what you saying but saying things like murder being just ignorance or domestic violence being pain and bitterness kinda makes those two things lighter or more small then they are imo. I just feel like that part is unnecessary. But you're right about the rest
I come back to this song and wonder just how incredible this one track is, how power the message is on the track. We are incredibly lucky that we have someone like Cole, just pure beauty
@@TCt83067695 we gotta keep the hope man, and the protests up and shit. this dies when the majority of peoples will too keep fighting for whats right this time dies.
My intuition is telling me they'll be better days Yeah, my intuition is telling me they'll be better days I like this tone Yeah, my intuition is telling me they'll be better days I sit in silence and and find whenever I meditate My fears alleviate, my tears evaporate My faith don't deviate, ideas don't have a date But see I'm growing and getting stronger with every breath Bringing me closer to heaven's doors with every step As we speak I'm in peace, no longer scared to die Most niggas don't believe in God and so they terrified It's either that or they be fearing they gon' go to Hell Asking the father for forgiveness, God, I'm overwhelmed (please God, I want to go to Heaven) As if he's spiteful like them white folks that control the jail See I believe if God is real, he'll never judge a man Because he knows us all and therefore he would understand The ignorance that make a nigga take his brother's life The bitterness and pain that got him beating on his wife I know you desperate for a change at the pen glide But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from In cemeteries or in chains I see men cry But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from Yeah, my chosen religion: Jesus piece frozen from sinnin' Doin' dirt hoping to God He know my intentions To see a million 'fore I see a casket I got a baby on the way know he gon' be a bastard I'm living fast like I'm in a drag race, how that cash taste When I was a senior I was ballin' on my classmates Niggas put three bullets in my car one hit the gas tank Know I got a angel cause I'm supposed to have a halo Right now, my lifestyle destined for a federal facility For my ability to make them birds fly Fiends wanna get higher than a bird's eye view And who am I tell a nigga what to do? I just apply this economics My business ain't got the suit and tie Keep a pistol at all times, niggas want what's mine I can't oblige dog, I work too hard So reach for it, get referred to God, I'm going hard nigga I know you desperate for a change at the pen glide But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from In cemeteries or in chains I see men cry But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from inside But the only real change come from Yeah, prodigal son Got a new gun, this one Don't run out of ammo lately been working on my handles Can I ball, become a star, and remain my self If I fall, dust it off and regain my self Fuck 'em all, they don't know all the pain I felt I'm in awe, after all the fame I felt I evolve I no longer bury demons I be a vessel for the truth until I'm barely breathing, I'm singing Life is all about the evolution I give up, I give in, I move back a little I live up, I look up, now I'm back for more You can dream but don't neglect the execution I give up, I give in, I move back a little I live up, I look up, now I'm back for more Time is short that's what somebody told me I give up, I give in, I move back a little I live up, I look up, now I'm back for more Too short to keep following your homies I give up, I give in, I move back a little I live up, I look up, now I'm back for more I reminisce back to a time where niggas threw they hands All of a sudden niggas pop a trunk and then we scram Finger on trigger make a little nigga understand What it's like to finally be the motherfuckin' man Eyes wide that's from the power that the coward feels Niggas die over bitches disrespecting dollar bills Bloodshed that turned the city to a battlefield I call it poison, you call it real (pop, pop, pop, pop) That's how you feel? Pistols be poppin' and niggas drop in a heartbeat Scattered like roaches, a body laid on the concrete Body laid on the concrete Look, somebody laid on the concrete No time for that, ain't no lookin' back, cause I'm running too I made it home, I woke up and turned on the morning news Overcame with a feeling I can't explain 'Cause that was my nigga James that was slain, he was 22 (Last night at around) He was 22 (22 year old black male, suspect, poor) We're gathered here today (I swear to God) To mourn the life of James McMillan Jr (I swear to God, nigga, I'mma kill them niggas man) A tragedy, another tragedy in the black community (I promise you bro) We got to do better, people 22 years old, this boy was too young (I promise you bro, I'mma kill them niggas bro) Our condolences go to his family, our prayers (I'mma kill them niggas myself) We know he's in a better place But this has got to end, ladies and gentleman We've got to come together, this is, this is, beyond words Now I'd like to open this ceremony with a verse from
I still can’t believe there is people calling J Cole boring. This song helped me with my anxiety so much. The lyrics the musicality maybe it’s true, you need a certain level to understand.
I'm not what you'd consider to be a big fan of Cole, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against him, and I think he's a dope dude. I just don't rock his shit in the car or anything like that. But yo I swear every time I see a Cole music video on feed, I listen, and I listen to the whole thing, and I'm consistently impressed. Production is always on point, always has me moving. Lyrics are deep, none of the bullshit about how good I rap or how much money I got. Take it from someone that isn't biased, or a huge hiphop head, J is one of the most talented guys in rap right now, and deserves your respect.
If you didn't peep let me put you on. This video's color scheme is this way because Cole is exposing himself and Ari Lennox as Indigo Children. Many of you reading this are Indigo Children as well. The world needs you to meditate, activate your highest version of yourself and aid in changing the world for the better. Peace, love and positivity brothers and sisters. Namaste.
This song specifically helped me get through a lot. During the darkest times in my life I always tend to use alcohol as a coping mechanism, and I particularly remember breaking down this one morning after pouring my first double of the day as I did every sunrise, upon lighting a cigarette, I bawl my eyes out next to the tree I watched the sunrise at. My friend sees me and he pulls up, gives me a hug and I genuinely feel everything is going to be okay after he gives me a talk. I healed that day. In so many ways. Not only did I heal, I toughened up more than I thought I ever would at that age. That was 2 years ago.
I love J Cole PERIOD. "My intution is telling me there'll be better day. The only real change come from inside. Life is all about the evolution. You can dream but don't neglect the execution."
Fasho got me through hard times in my mind I cry😢every time I play this rest in peace my lil brother🙏love you Chris black we played this in my apartment all the time❤
“I evolved I no longer bury demons , I’ll be a vessel for the truth till I’m barely breathing “ 😤 that’s why he’s my favorite artist I relate so much with what he speaks. I promise to try my best to live by that.🤞🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
