@@theuniqueoneable Well my point is 4YEO was nowhere near the level of TPAB. The way Kendrick tells a story in that album is very cleverly done and imo his metaphors are levels above Cole. My reasoning for thinking Kendrick is better is whenever he raps, he never tells you everything. He'll tell you his situation and what he's gone through but he'll also leave a lot of the meaning open to interpretation. Whenever Cole tries this he ends up telling you everything in the song and leaves nothing or very little for the listener to think about. So that's probably the biggest thing I think makes Kendrick much better, I also think lyrically Kendrick has better bars generally however I will say Cole has upped his game after KOD so it's hard to say until he releases a full project. If we are looking at their discographies I think it's pretty clear Kendrick has the better one, he has 2 critically acclaimed albums both by the public and rappers themselves along with DAMN which is probably his most successful commercially whilst also telling an amazing story. Kendrick is also a lot more experimental with his albums, no two albums have any similar sounds. Section 80 was raw, GKMC had a more commercial sound and told an amazing story. I don't think I need to explain why TPAB was different. Damn was his most mainstream sounding album. Kendrick is also the most respected artist there is right now both among other rappers and commercially (you could say Drake but he's not really respected among a lot of rappers)
