the marlins color guy deserves a better play by play. he was doing his best to pretend he was still calling a baseball game. idk i guess plenty of fans like this style of commentary. i think met fans are too spoiled by GKR lol
To be honest, I think he might be playing through some pain. Martinez, Nimmo, and definitely Alvarez seem to be really banged up. All of their swings have been slightly off for a while; not as much power behind their swings as was in the beginning. Although, it looks like Alvarez might be feeling a bit better or he's numbing up. He's definitely swinging a lot harder than he has in the past 3 months. Martinez has been hitting the ball harder, recently, just isn't getting the results since they are shading him to go opposite field all the time. But I think they've all been playing through something. We know Martinez has back problems. Nimmo has taken some hard wall pops and awkward dives in the outfield. Alvarez has basically caught every foul ball and back swing in the worst spots imaginable. Lol. But we have depth to be able to play the hot hands, so the team will figure it out.
