Peter Wolfe was a special guest at a Bon Jovi show in Boston. I talked with him a little while after the show. He was the nicest most humble famous person I ever met. I was very impressed how down to earth he was. A really sweet man.
Their first eight albums were blues, R&B, Rock N Roll, Rock. Their last three albums were pop. I started listening to them in the early 70s and loved their albums and concerts. Their pop albums came out starting in 1980. As a die hard, long time fan I also said 'is this really them' when I first listened to the Love Stinks album. It was the beginning of the end for them as a band.
This was their later, more commercial phase. Personally, like their earlier stuff much more, and trust me it was also FUN, as you say. PLEASE, check out Southside Shuffle, as an example, from their Bloodshot album ( as was 'Give it to Me, which you reacted to). Cheers!!
@@benshafer65 They were a lead up band and I can't remember the headliner at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in the mid 70's. Time frame could be a little off. I am 70 and everything kind of blends together from that time. I had never heard of them and had no idea. They totally stole the show that night.

Again it’s J Geils, rhymes with Miles, with a hard G, as in Guy (that guy is cool). This was their commercial hit, which was a bit of controversy at the time because their true fans felt they sold out to commercialism.
A Playboy Centerfold; think it may have been (Sue Smith), from Beloit, Wisconsin said in her bio that she liked J. Geils Band. After that issue came out in the early 80's they made this song. I knew Sue Smith, she was like my big sister!
Centerfold and Freeze Frame are ones played the most but the ones I like the least. Have many songs I like better GREAT live band! Have all their Live albums

They kind of broke up over their 80’s music. Check out more from the 70’s and Peter Wolf’s solo stuff. I like all of their stuff but the 80’s songs caused a riff between band members.
Wonder how many times this happens? I saw a former senior miss high school at a strip club in a different city. Could have blown me over with a feather.
Yeah, I worked with this really cute girl & about a year later I walked into a strip club & she came running up to say hi. It was amateur night & she wanted me to cheer really loud for her. Then, around 4-5 years after that, I was moving in with a guy from work. He had some Deja-Vu stripper mags & the first picture I saw when I opened it up was hers🤣
