j-hope was a street dancer for many years prior his debut with his group and CNS was one of the songs he got into it. He paid Bianca 2.7 Millions for royalties and made a remake of it. If no one mentioned it, j-hope grew up on this song and he's wanted to pay it homage for a really long time. So he worked really hard to make this happen. Paid Bianca something like $2.7M and then released it for free. She loved it, by the way. Becky also had a special attachment to this song so j-hope asked her to work on it with him. j-hope was a street dancers (but he's trained too) and was in a dance crew named Neuron prior to being in BTS. He won a national championship in 2008--so he's a professional dancer. When he joined BTS he started rapping (but he'd been immersed in hip-hop his whole life) and he really took the responsibility seriously. He writes his own stuff, does production, and he's crafted a style that is really specific to him. RM and Suga (BTS' other rappers) are probably more traditional rappers which can lead people to sort of think of them as "harder." But j-hope has a really huge toolbox with his excellent vocals, unique tone, and perfect musicality so I look at his melody work and his fluidity as characteristics that enhance his rap. And his aesthetic--his brand, is really defined too. It's impressive that he's got such a specific perspective and voice but because of his versatility, he still surprises and challenges fans with every drop. His lyricism is also stellar. He's really referential and his bars often call back to verses he's done in previous songs, or refer to things in korean literature or pop culture so they're a little context dependent and you can't always take them at face value--but it's worth digging into. And he's so cool. He's just really freaking cool. But his brand of cool is kind and joyful and self-accepting...Swaggy Sunshine. It's great energy. Anyway, I'm rambling now. I really just came to tell you how important CNS was to him but he's just such a well-rounded and innovative artist and I'm glad you checked him out!
2:13 bro asked "did you hear how he switched it up" I was so happy he said that!👏🏽 Hobi (J-hope) is one of the best rappers in kpop with the bts rapline, Namjoon's (RM) lyrcism, Yoongi's (Suga/Agust D) tongue technology, Hobi mastered the craft of flow switching given he has like 3 different types of voices and can switch flows like 3, 4 times in a single verse. Him initially and internally being a dancer with a hip hop background, he's so unique which many can't compare him to any existing rapper. He can transfer his energy as a dancer to rapping which is why his flow is so rhythmic, jumpy and so swag like the way he dances. All 7 of them are so unique and have such different flavour that even though I am OT7 (One True 7, meaning that my bias is ALL OF DEM ) I do understand why people end up having one bias and it is and always will be all love! What I love about this group(OUR BOYS) is their freedom and dedication when it comes to music. All the artists have their own solo work, all 3 rappers have their own mixtapes and singles. And they do all this while working on their group music..... And they support each other,when one of them is doing solo projects they visit them on set. They also make and release songs for free on soundcloud for ARMY (fans). They are all a part of the Korean copyright association, and all three rappers are full members of The association. All the members have a studio and contribute in writing or producing songs on each of their albums.They've made/have songs from almost every genre, including: R&B,hip hop, soul, jazz, pop, blues,rock (soft & standard), rap, cyphers, ballads and more..... They've even performed " OH HAPPY DAY" And they touch on subjects like: Mental health, bullying, depression, social and economic injustices, criticisms of the Korean school system, criticisms of the way young people take advantage of their parents, drug abuse, youth and female empowerment,self love and acceptance, temptation and the struggles with it, they also touched on the struggles of the transition from teenager to young adults to full on adulthood.they even did a song that was about a tragedy that happened in korea that caused alot of sorrow and controversy.and they take inspiration from books (alot from classics) and from past thinkers, philosophers and psychologists. They speak about the struggles of life.

Dude this song has been one of my "happy places" during this stoopid pandemic. It never fails to put a smile on my face. J-Hope's charisma is unmatched when performing live. I love Becky G. I remember when her song came out on a NOW cd as an up and coming hit lol! That song reminds me of BTS. They are the reason I am "dancing in the mirror and singing in the shower" LOL. I love the combo of Spanish, English, and Korean. Like my mom watches her Kdramas without subtitles lol. This solo is very special to bae & has an amazing meaning. This song is the very reason why we have J-Hope today. When he heard this song back then it got him intrested in hip hop & dancing. So he wanted to pay homage to the creators & put his own spin on it. He worked on this for years & when it was released it made me cry. And having the gorgeous Becky G with him was an amazing touch as well.
Please watch live performances! At the BBMAs, the AMAs, the MMAs and MAMA. At the BBMAs and AMAs it’s amazing to see and hear American BTS fans literally drown out all other fans. As you found out this is a remix cover of 2006 track “Chicken Noodle Soup” by Webster & Young B (Bianca) but I wasn’t sure when J-Hope would release it. He said it was the reason he found his passion for dancing and how he joined BTS, he also mentioned this was supposed to be part of his first mixtape “Hope World” and that it was his idea to do a remake cover of the song which gave him inspiration to pursue dance & music. They do solos completely separate so to speak from BTS as well as solos as part of the BTS discography. Everything they touch is FIRE. Some recommendations of solo songs with MVs from the rapine since that is what you were expressing an interest in: From RM: - Do You (clap back at hatters telling him he doesn't "fit" in with whatever genre the hater is coming from. He and SUGA were given a lot of grief when they left underground hip hop/rap to pursue their careers with BTS - the rappers said they 'sold out' and weren't genuine any more and didn't have any flow, and the kpop fans said they weren't smooth and good looking enough to be IDOLS and hadn't earned their way to be in that part of the music industry). - Joke (another clap back at those who said he wasn't a "real" rapper and didn't have any flows - he switches up the flow a lot in this one on purpose and even mimics the cookie-cutter generic rappers) -Forever Rain (a much mellower song, very reflective) From SUGA (goes by AgustD when doing his truly solo work or SUGA when doing "a solo" song under a BTS album): - AgustD (basically telling his story and clapping back at the same haters that RM addressed in the two songs above, but in his own grittier style - and he spells this name in the song - it is SUGA (the name he goes by in BTS) Dt (Daegu is the town he is from, and Daegu Town is the group he was part of before BTS), put them together and revers the order and you get AgustD.... SUGA stands for Shooting Guard, one of his favorite Basketball positions he used to play). - Give It To Me (a continuation video after AgustD, similar theme) -Daechwita (another flex with a TON of traditional Korean elements in the language and imagery - there is an "explained" video by DKDKTV if you are interested and learning more - but the name of the song is the type of traditional Korean music that was played as part of the procession of an Army marching or the King's entrance, to announce his might and glory - you will hear a snippet of the authentic sound of it at the beginning of this song) From J-Hope: - Airplane (not to be confused with Airplane Pt 2 which is a whole BTS song initially developed from one of the lines of this solo song on JHope's mixtape - this one is chill and basically tells how he wants to be a piece of peace, and the joy the music gives him) - Daydream (this one has a little more swing to it, very vibish, you just have to see it and smile and groove along) -and you already did Chicken Noodle Soup Some unit songs from the rapline (if you do these, HIGHLY recommend the explained by DKDKTV as part of the experience to understand the genius lyricism): - DDAENG - UGH! They have so many more though. Can't go wrong and it is OK to have a favorite so long as not hate or disrespect is shown to the others - but it is VERY ok to not be able to have a favorite and to love and appreciate them all equally for their unique differences. Jhope has his solo album Hope World, RM has two solo albums RM and Mono, Suga has two solo albums AgustD and D-2. All of these were released for free and each had 2 MV. The other members have stated they are either working on or would like to make their own solo albums. Each member has released at least one solo song on the groups albums, unfortunately no MVs for these songs but they are amazing live. You can find live performances on RU-vid

Everybody in BTS could be a successful solo artist. Very rare for one group to have so much talent without anyone really more talented than another. Just all different. Have you done "Not Today" yet. Another great one. And to see the diversity of their talent, beautiful harmonies in the MTV Unplugged cover of Coldplay's "Fix You". Airplane part 2 for some Latin flair. It cracks me up that this video got Jhope so much flack and accusations of cultural appropriation when the video seemed more like appreciation to me. He's been open about the inspiration that the hip hop community and its history brings to him.
