The recent OT7 picture proved that the military transformed Hobi from a boy to a man. Normally, Hobi would sneak a finger heart or peace sign , and there's nothing wrong with that! They are outside their units, so they can be as spontaneous as they want. However, Hobi chose to act like he was still on duty.
Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook recently went live to have a moment with ARMY before their enlistment. The boys mentioned that Hobi became cool while in the military.

I remember a video of the guys taking part in a game, and Hobi admitted he got "tired" of always having to live up to happy image. The military is giving him the perfect opportunity to update his persona of being more a more serious artist.

He was always a VERY serious artist. But this narrow box of you are only mature when you don't laugh, smile and are lively, I say f that. They make the men like that, then decades later some of them realize how disabling that was to always play the cool one. Some come back when they have kids, many only when they have grandkids and some sadly never realize that.

Jhope adapts to his situation really quickly .. he is one of those who plays when its time to play and works really hard when its time to do so .. he looks really matured in those recent military photos .. its amazing how he knows we want to see him so he uploaded the video selfy .. He's definitely matured but evil Hobi?!? Nah. 🤨 He's always had good situational awareness and adaptability skills. In the military he's simply been able to apply his leadership skills and perfectionist self in a new way as he's adapted to a more serious setting. Don't forget that Hobi is the Dance Master. Being trainer in military is right in his nature. His beauty has increased 1000%. I love his bigger man look. I love him forever anyway he is. I’ve always adored Hobi, and don’t think he has fundamentally changed, he is just in permanent dance instructor mode now. Serious, professional and a bit intimidating. It’s very hot!

As long as they come back with their 'spirits' intact, that will be a relief to me. I am afraid that they might lose the 'fun' side of themselves. Jin is doing well, though, staying goofy at times, not letting the world weigh down on him too much. He still jokes around, so I hope they all save a bit of themselves deep inside and can let it all out later, once they are relieved of military duties. J-Hope is obviously taking his role seriously. I just hope he's not unhappy. I guess we'll find out when they come out. Good luck to all!

Many idols discover a new type of freedom during their military duty. They have regular schedules and not exhausting ones. Idols get regular meals instead of being constantly hungry due to diets. That immense pressure to be 'On' as an idol for the company, media, and fans is gone. They all seem to get stronger physically as they regain average weight for their height and build. J-Hope is a natural leader who is getting to shine in a new environment.

It's interesting because we tend to separate Hobi in his general playful and soft everyday mode from him in his dance leader or mentor mode. Here, he's in a situation where his day-to-day life is him also doing a job and that job is to teach other younger recruits, set an example and be a mentor figure if needed. So that serious side that we got snippets of in the past is all in full force now. And it's more serious than getting a dance right, he's preparing young people for potential war situations. It makes sense that he'd probably stay in that headspace more often because switching in and out might be difficult. Especially when you want recruits to take you seriously and they have access to everything you do even when you're off duty.

Absolutely right. Poor Hobi thinks he has to be in dance leader mode 24/7--I hope he gets some relief when he joins his family privately on leave. I really hate the trope of the military making a boy into a man when what is meant is that it makes him less open, willing to share his emotions, and caring. That's not maturity, it's an application of toxic masculinity.

Hi Colt! As always we can count on you to highlight the little things that might get by some of us cause we're focusing on the bigger picture (the other member's enlistment faces). You are so right about Hobi's poses changing. The guys used to be in awe of him before but now it's on another level. The military has manned him up. He is going to have a lot of material to rap about when he resumes to his artist life. When all 7 return with their buff bods...well somebody call an ambulance is all I'm saying!

Yes agreed...Hobi has transformed and I'm here for it! 😍Thank you for the compilation Colt, as always so well documented! During Tae's and RM's enlistment ceremony, Corporal Hoseok was giving runway model vibes! ❤‍🔥I know I should have been focusing on RM and Taetae but I couldn't stop starring at JHope...I had to do one of RM's face-slapping moves to get myself to focus! JHope will always adapt well to any situation and he certainly has done that while in the military! 💪 I could focus more the next day during JungKook and Jimin's ceremony because Hobi didn't have his uniform on and his face was covered which he thankfully revealed later 🥰💚💜💜💜💜💜💜

Hacer el servicio militar tiene que ser muy duro.Hobi se a adaptado muy bien , por suerte y él está ahora en ese modo.Modo seriedad y maduración ,no sólo por el servicio que está llevando, estar preparado para defender a su país si no que además claramente está adaptándose a un cambio de rol en su vida.En su crecimiento como persona.Creo que a todos les pasará igual, sólo que nos cuesta ver a J Hope en modo tan serio.😅 Pero creo que es el proceso que les toca vivir.❤

Hoseok is kind of person who is very scary and significant if he is serious and if he knows he has to do something unserious and entertaining he does that. All over he is very kind and perfectionist and we have saw that from the time when he used to be/is bts dance leader. He is two different sides can be showed in Hope world and Jack in the box

Definitely noticed the changes as soon as the first batches of his photos came out ater his enlistment. His body language was different. Also, Hobi's IG story today almost made me fall out of my chair. THE HOTNESS WAS UNBEARABLE. Wrecker wrecker wrecker. I can't wait for Hobi to come out in October 2024! So manly. So handsome. He may have a calmer, more mature demeanor in the military because it's serious stuff there. He can't be goofy and funny there, especially if he's a Corporal and a trainer. He also looks taller and hotter now... BUT I hope he's still the sunshine we remember him to be when he comes home soon. The same Hobi is still in there. He has to adapt to a very different world. I also wonder if perhaps he might feel a little overwhelmed by the fact that they are all now enlisted including the baby. Their worlds have been turned upside down. He will be back dancing and enjoying that part of his life again. ❤

I understand that in the Korean culture, military service is a rite of passage where boys become men. It sure seems that way with Hobi! Like his professionalism with dance and performing, he is a perfectionist as a soldier as well! His military uniform is perfect and his “at ease” stance is perfect! He is an inspiration to others!!! Thank god j hope isn’t on any ridiculous diets in the army .he can eat well and exercise well and get his manly body back with muscles and strength ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.he is in charge of a lot of kids joining the army and needs to help them , get safely thru there training , that’s a serious responsibility ❤❤❤❤. But our hobi and our Jin are the best and they will do a good job

After J-hope enlisted in the military, he was mature, steady, and serious, and may have maintained his image as a corporal. He is so cool ,he is too serious about setting an example to the juniors I felt that he lost his cheerful smile. I think when they come back there will be a period of adjustment to ease back into daily citizen life. Although they were used to structure as trainees. I noticed with Taemin as an example it took a minute to relax after he got out. I just hope they keep their inner spirits but I think they have been telling us that Chapter 2 is wanting to show a more mature side.

Mr. Jung Ho-seok/J-hope shows "military does a body good" (jk!). A great daily routine of good nutrition and exercise helps make a healthier and stronger body. No lie. His is very dedicated to keep his body looking this buff and handsome. The other 5 brothers will get buff and handsome, too. Mr. Min Yoon-gi/Suga will remain just cute because he isn't on active duty.

Oh my gawed I remember, in 2018, when I became a fan. Watching the videos where Jhope and Jin always scared and screaming at the slightest bit.😂🤣😂 I miss those days. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like without our 7 Handsome, Talented Boys. 😭😭😭. 2024 is going to feel like AN EXTREMELY LONG YEAR without them😢!
