Exactly! And BTS song, “Born Singer” is a nod to J-Coles song “Born Sinner”. Hobi has always idolized him and refers to Cole as his inspiration and Muse. So to see Hobi come full circle and have a song with his idol is incredible! If you watch “J-Hope in the box” the documentary behind Lollapolooza J-Hope meets him for first time and almost loses his shit!!’ So happy for Hobi!🥰🥰🥰

The song has two versions. One with JCole and one without. So it makes sense to let his idol shine on this version bc he did one by himself. And the purpose is him dancing to JCole as he did in his start.

@irisflower9030
@irisflower9030 Год назад
I totally agree. It was a JC song featuring JH. Having said that, this was beautiful and had bars for days. I also like the juxtaposition oh Hobi’s more “hopeful” lyrics and Cole’s more grungy ones, while relaying the same message. Very cool contrast. This contrast was further highlighted with Hobi being on the streets and on the subway (down below) while Cole is on the roof top (up above) in the video. This further creates a contrast between Hobi’s positive, or elevated, message and Cole’s lyrics that are more grounded overall but still forward looking in comparison to where they are in the video. Its like they represent two different paths leading to the same outcome or goal, represented by them eventually meeting and hugging it out. Very cool!

I don’t listen to J. Cole or at least haven’t in a long ass time so idk his style or anything but I was kinda hoping this would be how it would go. Hoseok said his part and it was emotional and sentimental but let J. Cole have his time to tell his story. I just truly loved how it worked out personally. I don’t always need things to be evened out for collabs or anything. I liked how this one was honestly. Hoseok has Jack in the box that laid out his feelings on a lot of things, so I didn’t need much more from Hoseok. I thoroughly enjoyed this and I truly loved J. Cole entire verse!! This was felt like alot of appreciation towards army for being there and him keeping this spirit within him always and J. Cole brought the same but from his pov. Thank you for the reaction!

What’s interesting is the stuff jcole rapped about applies to Hobi too. Should I hold on to the crown? No I have to let it grow. You know what I mean? Also I noticed that jhope is never greedy when he collaborates. Whether with BTS or with Becky G, he gives them the floor to really do what they do best. Hobi can really ride with any artist. He can adjust his style. I actually think he got that from jcole haha

I believe that maybe J-hope gave J. Cole the floor because he was paying respect to him... because, J. Cole is one of the reasons why J-Hope got into hip-hop, he dances mostly to J. Cole's music and like he gave the floor to J. Cole to show to us, his fans that 'This is the man I look up into.' that 'This is how J. Cole's music inspired me.' something like that. That's why it looks like it's more like a J. Cole song with J-hope sprinkled on it. hehehe and by the way, J-Hope is the one whistling. :)

Hobi gave this man 32 bars to say what he wanted to, simply bc Jermaine is Hobi's start, his inspiration, his "MUSE" as he's mentioned time & time again. I was not expecting the "line distribution" to be balanced bc I KNEW Hobi would've wanted to give Jermaine free rein to spit, and SHOWER he did. An AMAZING collaboration, and a beautiful send-off. He's really come full circle and we wish him well going off into the military, on "his call". We will be (im)patiently waiting for his & the rest of the boys safe returnn 💜🌎

The second part of the song represents how hobi’s journey started. Hobi is a dancer just as he is a rapper, if not even more. He started dancing before he even wanted to become an idol. He dances to jcole’s verse just how he did when he was a kid as he has been one of his biggest inspirations to become an artist. Throughout the song he keeps moving forward as he keeps dancing to jcole signaling he has and keeps considering him the muse to his artistry. For me he wanted to represent the two sides of him, the rapper and the dancer, thats why jcole’s part is bigger in this song

Hobi ran into J-Cole at Lollapalooza, and I think this project with the two of them was an organic meant to be typa thing. Hobi has said time and again that J-Cole is his muse, and that his name and first mixtape have similarities. J-Hope/J-Cole, Hope World/Cole World. I mean...Hobi was inspired by him, and now they get to work together. And he said they text and are friends. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more from them. At least some behind the scenes. I mean you know how BTS is about behind the scenes. Anyway, great song.

I think that was the point when Jhope made the song have more of JCole rapping because like Jhope said "he is going back to the streets" before he released the song. So Jhope is mostly dancing while listening to him because that is what he did before BTS, hence "going back to the streets or on the street". As for the kid it makes sense it would be ARMY, but I interpreted it as him going back to his childhood. It is him reminiscing about his past. That is what I thought.

its super important to go into this mv knowing that jCole has been hobi's muse and inspiration for the longest time like way before their debut

I sat on my bed for 30 minutes after listening to the song because I've been a fan of Cole since he started so to see Hobi and him Collab was everything and not just that but when Cole said "JHope Cole world" that's when everything hit me and made me start crying cause all I saw was "it's my call" in the background and i noticed that Hobi and Jin both ignored the stop and exit signs and both said goodbye to the little girl (army) 🙁💔 I will miss you Hobi please stay safe and I'll wait for you to return 🤍🤞🏼

The first time I bopped. The second d time I teared up. The 3rd time I sobbed. I can't believe 10 years later they are all meeting and collabing with their idols. And what a send off. Come back safely, Hobi. We will always walk with you!
