(It's a bit lengthy, thank you for reading and your time) J-Hope is one of BTS' main songwriters, composers, producers, and rappers as well as the main dancer, dance leader, and co-choreographer (quite a lot right? Haha). He started off as a street hip-hop freestyle dancer (He is a hell of a great dancer. A literal beast on stage) and from a young age, his role model was J. Cole! He used to freestyle to his songs a lot and then following his career as a rapper/BTS member J.Cole has always been his inspiration and muse (Jhope has talked about Cole literally everywhere) And then years after, they met at Lollapalooza 2022. Where both headlined! And it all started from there! (felt like a movie!). J-Hope has written the melody, whistle, and part of the beats working with his producer. And made this easy-listening Lo-Fi hip-hop bop. It's interesting how he made exactly a Cole's style melody/beat my guy knows his role model well 😂 in addition, some details have to be; The MV starts with a kid dressing up as Cole (Reminding the little Jhope), and the place is the same as Cole's Simba MV. Jhope has given a full 32bars proper verse to Cole, in order to show his respect (And Cole rocked it), Jhope in the underground freestyle to Cole's verse while the Cole on top of the roof (exactly how he grew up with) and then both meet up on the roof (Bestie you missed the end of the MV! They met up!) J-Hope wanted this song to show his root, where his whole career started which is *on the street* with Cole and freestyle, and damn It's such a circle of moments for us at this point!! This song is gift for J-Hope's fans, and a full circle moment for J-Hope. First, he just announced that he is enlisting in the South Korean Military for 18 months of Mandatory Military service. All seven BTS members will be serving, so they are all working on their solo projects right now. J-Hope has already released his album, headlined Lollapalooza, done a collaboration with a Korean RnB/Hip Hop artist, and now releasing his solo single with his IDOL. J-Cole is J-Hope's muse, inspiration. When J-Hope was a teenager, he was an underground hip hop street dancer, before joining BTS. He would dance to J-Cole's music and rap, just like he did in this video, and J-Cole inspired him to write lyrics and learn to rap. He joined BTS as a dancer, and became the dance leader and main dancer. Then he learned how to rap and developed his own style as a trainee. BTS debuted in 2013 as a HIp Hop Idol group in South Korea. J-Hope met J-Cole when he headlined Lollapalooza in July 2022. I believe that this song was an organic result of the two of them meeting at Lollapalooza. J-Hope created his stage name and named his first mixtape 'HOPE WORLD' from J-Cole's influence.
