I agree. He is a born leader. He is a team player. He will be one of the 1st players in the building and one of the last to leave. He does not care about individual accolades all he cares about is winning football games and rings/championships. He knows that he is going to be the vikings future starting quarterback but he will do anything to help the team win while waiting for his opportunity to be the starting quarterback. Listening to him talk to the press it's hard to believe that he is only 21.

Being a Michigan fan I watched everyone of his games and had the opportunity to see him grow as a leader. I will, almost, guarantee he be the facility practicing. He will be, one, of the 1st players in the building and the last to leave. If I remember correctly KOC said in a press conference that JJ was wearing them out. As it stands right now it looks like Sam Darnold is QB1 and I don't think that surprises anyone. When the season starts I have no doubt that JJ Mccarthy will be ready to run the offense if Sam Darnold, for some reason, was not able to.

He will be Qb1 next year. Darnold is on a 1 year deal. He probably will resign with us though. They will also most likely start him at the end of the season if we don’t have a chance at the playoffs.

He has a way to go that’s ok when he came to Michigan he had to beat McNamara. He worked hard in practice and when he was able to play in games to win starting QB. So this is nothing he hasn’t had to do before. He will work hard I guarantee it…..he is a workhorse. If he wants it bad enough he will work for it!!!

He is special. I think JJ will be ready sometime during the season, however as long as Sam is playing at a high level, JJ will continue to sit. If Darnold regresses back to inconsistent Quarterbacking that plagued him in the past, the pressure to play JJ will be extreme.

It’s all about adapting to the speed of the game in the pros. Things happen so much faster than in the college game. If he can do that he has a very bright future.
