I honestly don't know how she did it she has one of the most unique and intelligent minds the world has EVER seen Woman you changed my life......Thank You!
Robert Wayne Deffenbaugh yeah and so what?? They made her hugely rich and are one of the most well known books and characters now. How many millions of copies have you sold or how much money have you made?
I honestly love how all her Harry Potter work is just so unorganized! :D Just shows how buried she was in her own imaginative world and how hard she worked on constructing her series the way how she wanted it, not like how others expected or wanted her to write it.
So she seems to have wrote about 14 books worth of material (with pictures!) to publish 7 books of legendary status. Take away? She didn't write Harry Potter for you to enjoy, she created a whole magical world for herself to imaginarily live in for herself, and she hoped to make a little money from it maybe. This is exactly why it feels like a real world, because it is virtually, complete with complete histories for everything of importance through the whole Harry Potter 7 book story! (She had this all mapped out before she even published her first book!!!!)
she admitted that she never imagined she would get as far as she did she just liked to write she hoped it might get published but she did not dare dream of it let alone as big as it got
The amazing thing is that as you go through the books you realize that she must have worked everything out meticulously from the very beginning. And this video is proof. I'm not saying she's on a par with Tolstoy, but what she accomplished with the HP series was truly awe-inspiring. Worthy of all the fame and money that have come her way. Unfortunately, the movies don't begin to do justice to the level of detail in the books. In this instant gratification culture, I hope they don't eventually usurp the books as "canon".
Right! She did it for herself that's why the stories are so fulfilling and compelling. Also didn't she start imagining and writing them during a very rough period in her life? I think she's so inspiring and shows that you too can create something and bring it to life even in your darkest moments of life and other people can enjoy it.
She had fantastic beast maped out when she wrote book 1. Ther ar very few things wher she changed her mind like Grindelwald was dead to her until she wrote DH becaus she needed him to Basicly give Voldemort and Harry the final answear on wher the Elderwand is. Grindelwald was propaly suposed to Do suicide after his defeat like Hitler. She also had Nagini and I doupt its a surprise she apeard in Fb 2. Or Minerva apearence mostlikely.
The fact that she's such an incredible artist as well really takes the cake. I'm also a writer so I completely understand the need to draw the characters, except I can't draw to save my life. I've gone so far as to dedicate a room of my house to the diagrams I built of what the different kingdoms in my story look like. This 'mass of waste paper' as she calls it is totally relatable.
J Rowling is a plagiarist and I know the facts. If you intend writing novels than being actively employed then do your own work and write-up your own stories. I can tell you it is very damaging to the real author of a story that gets stolen and presented by a foreign author to the original creator. Jo Rowling did not originate, create, or form the Harry Potter stories, their main characters, creatures, features, main characters names, creatures names or other names such as HOGWARTS, Buckbeak, Gillyweed and she didn't create HOGWARTS Castle or any of the title names of the released novels in the series either. I did and a whole lot more. The information I have revealed is true but plagiarism and how it was made to appear to the readers and public has meant that I am not believed but the truth will reveal itself to those who are really interested in knowing the real origin of the stories I am the creator of that others have taken credits for. My poem THE LIAR BIRD reveals the true origins of Harry Potter. Have a nice day. My author name is J K Rawling. Don't get it mixed up with that of the plagiarist.
Greg Simcock Aren't you the fool who takes credit for a huge range of different authors' work, to the point where you'd have to have been in several places at once? Get psych. help and find peace.
@231thedream She stated in an Interview, that drawing is one of her hobbies. She is also responsable for the illustration of Beedle the bard. And in what way does her former job exclude the possibility of her being able to draw? Obviously writing is her main focus, but that doesnt mean, that thats all she does.
shes my role model!! i love to write as well, and i love how talented she is, how she connects to her stories and characters, how with such difficult stuff going on in her life, she pushes through and proves them all wrong! i love you Jo!
Just a pile of scrap paper, some ink, and an old typewriter. No technology, no computer, phone, nothing like that. Just pure talent- as J.K said (on Twitter). It delightfully explains what talent truly is! Just a few materials created this insanely astronomical series that captivated the whole entire world. Damn, she is the definition of a true author.
this is how Tolkien worked too, all those notes and papers. I hope one day it all gets compiled into books in the same way Tolkien's son compiled his father's works.
i looked up to her when i was a young dude, and wrote like four books, but they were never as successful. one day, though, one of my books will be - I can feel it!
Rowling gives me strength to fall into the depths of my first novel i started to write. i never would have thought it can swallow my whole life like this and it can be actually scary. thank you!!!
I want to buy a copy of the journal, with the butterfly on the cover, that she used for the history of the death eaters!!! I can't find the manufacture!
She's a fine artist that can draw! No wonder it's easier for her to work on it while imagining. Now imagine my poor wood hand trying to draw like her... Prolly gonna caused chaos instead of perfect people
I think it would be so sad if someone got to buy all of that after her death or something. Those are priceless, and it would be wrong to have one person own them and no one else would ever get to see. But at the same time, I would give anything to read through that. Those scraps of paper are priceless, and will probably be a piece of history.
The new book she writing i don't care if has nothing to do with the character Harry Potter i just want it to have something too do with that magical world. Because she knows so much about it.
The Harry Potter story began in 1978 when I was a soldier learning the art of cinema film projection. In 1980 I was posted to Victoria to a place named Puckapunyal. I was screening four times per week. My patrons were children to adults and it was a really time consuming job but I enjoyed my position. I had to become a corporal and that was six weeks training. I failed the first course by half a question as the given time to answer the questions ran out but I passed the second time round.
The Segway Human Transporter was one of my inventions I created the designs for its construction as well as the concepts of and my artwork included the big-wheeled version. It began as a trolley to tow behind my fathers lawn mower so I could raise mt feet above the lawn level so the stones that got thrown from under the mower would not hit my toes when I mowed near the road-side verge bordering my family home. Years later my fishing reel design appeared to be motor driven and the Segway was born
Amazing author. I'm really curious how she write Harry Potter despite depression and suicidal thought,. And how she thinks awesome names for her characters and spell names. Her imagination and writing is truly amazing. Legend. Plus her messy workplace, she definitely works on those best.
One lawyer said his clients were investors in the J. K. Rowling Harry Potter estate. Another lawyer said I had no evidence and my case would more likely be not accepted into court. A third lawyer said he was in NSW whereas I live in Western Australia. Another lawyer said he already had a domestic matter to attend to. The most recent lawyer I asked to act for me was a Perth based lawyer who's website indicated his lawyer firm was global. That lawyer would not look up the English copyright act!
Don't you dare insult people and I've warn you 10000th time, I love JK Rowling for all her work and how she gave me the childhood everyone had. JK Rowling will always be my true idol and no dout in my mind I think I can see half of the people who grew up with the series will most likely name their daughter after her to keep that wonderful legacy going.
@231thedream Fair enough. I get your point. But as I said, she DID mention drawing once or twice in a interview. But to be fair: Its really not something she talks about all the time. Which makes sense of course, given the fact, that she is more famous for her writing.
You can actually guess from the detail with which she describes scenes in the book. The visual imagery really matter to her. Really, the director had little to do to bring her books to the screen. Rowling does everything except provide stage directions.
That shopping center is named The Phoenix Shopping Center which had a simple sign until after a time when my friend Alan Page had been enthused enough to ask me about my drawing of the winged horse and of its purpose. Driving past it one day he asked me what I thought of the sign that showed a winged horse much like as I could remember my drawing of it. I liked the signs graphic appearance and thought it was much like my drawing of a phoenix horse with wings. I had also drawn a bird phoenix.
Now take that convenience and look at another product. For this example I will refer to the Microsoft operating system named Windows XP/XP-Pro. The MS windows wave logo appeared with a welcome screen and the desktop image showed as a wavy hillside covered in grass with fluffy clouds in the clear blue sky. The default desktop image is named BLISS and the program has changeable icons to a straight forward file structure. The program was released at midnight during a date in 2001, as was Harry P.
otter stories were really my main story-set that were created as one story initially but the drawings I drew became too many for one story and so I began adding titles to the sets of drawings that appeared to form a story segment in my main story. In time they were fattened by the addition of other drawings and so separate stories appeared. The titles were well thought out letter sets that had meaning and purpose known by me. They include details to remind me of things. One is in the 5th title.
The phoenix bird had wings and was added to the head wizards setting in my story-board set of the Harry Potter stories. I had owned a HAMMOND Phoenix organ until the end of 1982 when I sold it to a man named Harry Potter, not long before I left Puckapunyal Army base for a posting in Sydney, and I remember thinking of Harry Potter when I named the story 'The Order Of The Phoenix'. I didn't draw the graphic art for all title names as I was focusing on the first five stories with most effort on No1
I am referring to the Harry Potter set of story title names here: The primary story was always my main story that I built upon each day by the addition of drawings but I didn't name my story until it was nearly ready for final setting out with character names and graphic art for use in the stories cover art. If you now use some logic as you read what I reveal to you then you may imagine my effort and method I used to make up the series of title names you are now very familiar with. (All titles)
