These series of talks are exceptional! Thank you for sharing those with us! I absolutely love how JK is not telling how it is but asking. By listening I am forced to inquire myself.
The Dr Bohm in this video, for those who do not know is actually physicist David Bohm , who was an American-Brazilian-British scientist who has been described as one of the most significant theoretical physicists of the 20th century and who contributed unorthodox ideas to quantum theory, neuropsychology and the philosophy of mind. Among his many contributions to physics is his causal and deterministic interpretation of quantum theory, now known as De Broglie-Bohm theory. It is amazing to know that Krishnamurthy attracted people of such high caliber.
@@Neutron412I think they are saying that because people that get to do things like that sometimes lose humility and do not listen to other, or care to know what someone has to say. But the fact that they did means he said something which they found important.
His only concern is with setting the man unconditionally free. That is love. In that love there’s compassion and in that compassion there’s patience and all that it implies
The mind always wants to know what it can't comprehend in total as it thinking dictates to an imagined ego that it must. Just as a dog chasing its tail which is denies is part of itself. Whether it is an unresolved prey drive of pure energy release of frustration is beyond the fact of the dogs action in itself. There is a physical reaction to what one observes in a fractured divisional state of mind with its seemingly arbitrary repeated thoughts. Which makes for discomfort..in the repeated limitation of what is a secondary interruption to the factual occurring state of being. Like someone coming over for a visit without prior announcement which you may or may not welcome or have time for as It disrupts the assumed flow of ones already limited time space of mind. If one is not divided in mind to where there is no beginning, middle or end..and the flow state is pure then there is infinite patients with in any time and space to observe in presents. It is then not a question of understanding to know first but to attend to the seeming truth by actually perceiving and receiving the presented truth as energy in motion in an intuitive state of being. “As long as thought moves Psychologically there must be FEAR. (False Evidence Appearing Real) lThat is the root of all fear. And thought is the whole movement of registration in the brain.” J. Krishnamurti …The question is it possible to not register anything psychologically. There is no understanding that needs to take place in the mind before as the nature of thought (to be or not to be) the ultimate paradox as some fundamental truth which is a division of fact which is either true or not true. A tragic attempt to bring understanding to a metal assumption. Truth can not be divided of thought to be broken down into parts and reassembled..to reach an understanding of truth which is in fact beyond our limited mental understanding..and arrises out of insecurity and doubt in not knowing. Something is either True or False…no in-between which is the metal state of the divided mind which is always seeking to know…but can never know thru understanding..not even by reason which is subjective to actual fact in bias to objective fact which in itself is never subject to anything if it is accepted in as a convenient truth of fact.
It’s likely that they were extremely afraid of feeling (or being perceived as, in the eyes of others) inferior to him. They were very likely to have been deeply conditioned to believe that they knew (or SHOULD know) more than most people, especially those with darker/brown skin. Like… “How in the hell does this slim brown man know more than I do and seem so much more intelligent and confident than I am?” The masses are so competitive, especially those who have several degrees from Ivy League universities and/or lots of money. They find the thought of not being superior to others - anyone - to be quite insulting.
Most people are comfortable with illusions, such as; beliefs, hopes, ideas, concepts. Most would rather stay with it because it’s known and to lose all of it, bring fear. I lived with suffering for the first 48 years of life, and now understand that the suffering is caused by the self center activity which is thought. There is no way to go back to ignorance if TRUE intelligence is constantly present.
I understand what the guys at 19:08 is talking about it happens to me . The is a tipe of resistance to observe myself my fear is also a fear to feel the fear . It feel uncomfortable. And I understand that this is my ego trying to not go deeply . You know why he will die if he let me do that .
when explaining the act of watching or observing, one had to use words like "oh, that's what happening" or like "oh, I see the fear". but that is because, one have to say it out into a sentence so that the other person can understand. In reality, when you observe, there's no such thought.
Attention is making a thought of what is seen, what is listened, what is observed and then use your own intelligence to act on the attention. If you do it then you accept fear, attend to it and react. If your intelligence is there then you can overcome it
I am not the moon. That is the point the man was trying to make. There is certainly a physical division between your body and the moon. But you are whatever image or knowledge or reaction you have to the idea of the moon. The other fellow who mentioned the physical resistance to looking at jealousy for example was trying to say that when you look at a troubling emotion like jealousy that there is a physiological reaction, like stomach tightening, increased breath, heart rate, etc, which is unpleasant. So, there is a resistance to looking at it.
A shame that he brushes the question of animals completely aside. Because the fact that animals also feel fear seems to indicate that thought can not be the sole reason for fear. Personally I feel that many of my fears come from deeper layers than the mind and thought. But again Krishnamurti doesn't want to accept things like the unconscious and birth trauma etc. although in my experience these elements are important to understanding the phenomenon of fear. But ofc many fears might be imaginary and the product of thoughts and imagination but is that really the whole story?
everthing beings with "I" when you sens anything which happening actually you become it.. You sens of it because of thought.. If you have no sensation then you cant talk or even experience anything in your life.. How could you speak about fear ? Without experience it
We are afraid to put in discussion all the system of society: its values, its rules, its moral, its classification of individuals, its institution... This will translate in action. I can not eat animals. I can no more work in field based on lies to the people. I must be honest. I must be in relation on the same level with any kind of men: patients, students, citizens, workers... they prefer their fears instead of lose their social position. They want to see themselves in a higher mental, spiritual, social state in a way or another. Attending the prestigious K's lessons. In a certain point of our history we have divided man from nature so that the idea has taken the place of nature. We pretend to be the controller, the ordinator of the world thinking it is caos, bad, wild... It's just a pure our own idea. We live after thousands of years in a pure abstraction... In illusion. We are conditioned. The word is not the thing. The idea/image is not the fact. Ceci n'est pas une pipe. Magritte. Do you know his paintings?
Unfortunately during most of the discussions K speaks far too abstractly for ppl to even begin to have a fruitful discussion. This is where Dr. Bohm is so important because he often tried to get K to consider the language and why his question or comment is difficult to understand.
sorry but did jk answer the question, how go to stop the brain registering and end thought? i dont understand because he says to stay in constant "attention" is just a trick? so how does it end ?? can someone please help me understand?
How you can see something without thought... If there is not any thought in our mind then how would we come to know about what at we are looking and why we are looking. Why do not k gave examples.. If I am reading watching listening without thought. Thought not related to my past but the thought about what am I listening seeing writing. Then what our brain observe. I feel nothing when I something without thought. I do not learn experience anything. Then why should I watch listen if I do not have any observer to observe...
You have misunderstood. If you observere you are looking from the past. And the past can never know the present. When there is this act of watching what is going on.. you will act if needed from a higher intelligence that is operating through you which is always new. And from that there is love and no conflict. It's like being in a flow state. There is no division from you and the fact. If you haven't experienced this Iæu can't really understand what he is trying to tell. Because either way or what kind of words or method someone uses doesn't matter. You can only know what he is speaking when u have done it. That is all he is trying to tell them. But they are trying to understand him through knowledge..
That so silly. like babies and animals can't see? If you were without thought you would have any desire to watch or listen. Your fear stops you from even being willing to contemplate the possibility of the most amazing experience of no thought.
