This pedal is just awesome. I also have it as my low gain pedal on the board. Couldn't be happier. It is quiet, has a ton of headroom, cleans up beautifully and has that really nice Marshall'y grit. Thanks for the nice demo!

My .45 Caliber arrived two days ago and it sounded great on its first gig with me last night! It replaced a JHS Morning Glory on my board. The .45 has way less compression and cleans up much better. It's also a lot quieter. Really pleased! I've really been enjoying your videos!

Great review. What amp were you using? Do you think this pedal would be redundant into an actual Marshall DSL? I'm looking for a low gainer and rockett always impresses me. They seem to make the best overdrives right now. They're so open and warm like amps.

I've been running mine with the gain at 3 o'clock and the volume on my Les Paul at 3.5. Great rhythm tone, then searing lead when the volume is rolled up. Running into the Iridium Round amp Blues Jr. Cab (B)

Great video! Like many others im having trouble finding a mid to high gain OD I like. I'm really considering a Price of Tone since King of Tones are so hard to find. BUT, I love my JRAD Archer Ikon, Dude, and Blue Note. I'd really like another JRAD to fill that space. Since they're both somewhat based on the 62 JTM45, What are your thoughts on the JRAD 45 vs the Prince of Tone/King of Tone? Could you possibly do a comparison video? Thanks for this demo. In all honesty, I had this pedal for a year...and....unless you own/use/have amps through which you play that already have a fair amount of dirt going on, this thing (45 caliber) sounds more like a dirty boost than a JTM anything. So if your thing is using clean amps as pedal slaves DO NOT get this pedal...just to give you an idea a Klon style pedallike the Archer or Tumnus have more gain on tap than the 45 caliber. In fairness I would say that the Zvex Box of Rock or Distortron and the Charlie Brown are far more suited to those of us who like to put dirt boxes through "Fenderish" type clean amps. Habeo dixit.

I am looking for a pedal that sounds like a retro king 45 watt bluesbreaker combo, the distortron was cool and the box of rock but didnt end up keeping. Also the new wampler plexi drive is cool but fairly bright sounding and more plexi. Looking at this or a charlie brown any tips?

The Zvex Distortron has a 3-way bass reduction switch - I haven't played the JHS CB.

So, if you couldn't afford a marshall (rather can't afford to turn the volume up that loud to get THE MARSHALL sound), or a Kemper profiler, could you use this pedal in the middle of your chain and put other drives before it to "push the amp"? (Have this as the always on with either a TS or RAT in front of it) to make it seem like you're home tone is the 45? Am I understanding that filter path right?

" Amp in a box" pedals usually suffer from too much comp and over the top gain.The early Catalinbread pedals were great for their day( the Formula 55 IS an actual Fender pre circuit), but without the consideration of stacking pre amps.To my ears, this does the 45 like the CTC Falcon handles the early Fender tones.I use both ,though currently in more of a Fender phase; if you want the Bassman thing, it's almost identical to the 45 design.Made for single coils and vintage output.

Hi. Fantastic demo!!! Do you think this jj rockett 45 is so different from JHS Charlie Brown? And which do you prefer?

I was really surprised to try this pedal and arrive at the opinion that it sounded exactly like a Marshall Origin 20 and not much like a JTM45.

Recently bought a DSL mk3 that i dont like. Guess im going to try this one instead
