#clavichord #harpsichord #baroque Aria from J S Bach's Goldberg variations BWV 988 played on a revival John Morley Clavichord by AM Koster. Baroque pitch tuning A=415 hz with Kirnberger temperament
I'm going to keep my music videos short, accessable and not too demanding, as this is most popular with my youtube subscribers and I hope to grow my small channel as quickly as possible. I can always experiment with longer more demanding pieces in the future and see how that goes. For now its a question of building up an initial audience 🤞
Well spotted! The instrument is, infact, tuned at standard baroque pitch, which is A=415hz... instead of modern standard concert pitch A=430hz. You are the second person who correctly noticed this by ear. Impressive 👍
@@Trolligi Well, in my honest opinion, not necessary really. I tested my instrument at French baroque pitch A392hz, at standard and modern pitch. I found that the balance between upper and lower octave timbre on my instrument was best at A=415hz. However, something that can make more difference in authentic historic keyboard playing is the tuning temperament used... In this instance, I use Kirnberger III temperament... but for early baroque and renaissance, I would use 1/4 comma meantone. And that makes a lot of difference in sound.
Это когда иностранцы не смогли ничего придумать, а очень хотелось. Тогда они украли у русских гусли, но играть на них так и не научились. Прилепили клавиши и шпарят.
