Ii can’t say enough about your presentation of cantata number 35 and the contralto singer. She is truly wonderful vocally and expressively. She never shows strain in the most demanding passages. You have another version of the same cantata online and l am grateful for both of them and for each of them. They are equally good and Bach is wonderful in either and each. Thank you for what you are doing for those who love Bach and this cantata.
THE ORGANIST TAGICALLY DIED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT AFTER ONE OF THE CANTATA PERFORMANCES SOME YEARS AGO. HARD FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND GOD´S PLAN FOR US. ???
I too love this guy.....there is a love and comfort that runs through him.....and one can feel his joy and see his love of what he does!!! I love you Mr. Organ man.....and thank you for a piece of your heart.
It is an opening sinfonia such as the one in this cantata that reminds us that Bach was a master organist- he was undoubtedly the soloist at the premiere in 1726. The organist here does the work justice- I think Bach would be proud.
So herrliche Musik!
If she sings Ortrud as well, then it shows rather that she is a great flexible musician with taste for style, rather than that her singing is not light. Here it definitely is light :) But thank you for this information, I didn't know!
This cantata was a "project" of mine in college. I didn't do it the justice this mezzo does, but I loved studying and performing it. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for posting.
the Beauty of her voice shines through and above the rest. The piece was made for the Aria no doubt in my mind. The musical instruments, the organ in particular adds some flavor to it but without the Aria it seems that there is no true expression I think. Eichenberg recitative aria is absolutely so magnificent, exquisite and completes everything.
Magnificent group effort by all who I think have that divine "spark" which makes each one aware of the great gifts God has bestowed on them as collaborators with the great Bach (who was certainly aware of God's "gifting-ness" and the need to respond to that with his very best) but each of them with a similar awareness of what God deserves from them, too. I love their demeanor, as always, the delight all the way through, including the dancing of the string players!
Awesome performance, Maestro Lutz! Organist seems all except organist... But what a crack of keyboard. Great! And what nice was here Claude... I'm in love.
@@josep-miquelserra7503 Torneu a tenir raó. Ho he vist als crèdits, però tard.
SO SCHÖN solche Kreativität! Bitte mehr davon. Ne ganze Kantate!!
I have been listening to/watching Rudolf Lutz & his Bach Foundation musicians performing Bach's cantatas for a year & a half & very much enjoying them. I like the small band - Bach would in most instances have been restricted to such a small band. I have most of Bach's music on CD, but seeing people sing & play is a much better experience. Thank you Herr Lutz for being able to present these cantatas on RU-vid. And yes, knowing something about organs, I enjoyed watching organist Norbert Zeilberger's hands bouncing along the keyboard & adding his notes to this beautiful melange.
This is wonderful! To me the setting seems so unusual, thoroughly enjoyable. Beautiful singing and playing. I am wondering what that strange curved instrument is next to the oboes. Is it an oboe d'amore?
It is an oboe da caccia. Bach used it in other cantatas as well, he may even have invented it. Listen to Martin Stadler's explanations regarding BWV 119 (in Swiss German, with English subtitles): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MHj1QmDAzLQ.html
I took German 55 years ago in my sophomore year in college, so I have very limited German, but verwirren and verwirret are the same word for confused. see "show more"
Beautiful performance. It's a pity, though, that the organ is so under-recorded; it's a strain to hear him, and he has (to my ears)easily the most interesting part to play. Those first two movements are finger-benders.
No, I don´t agree that the organist stole the show. He brings, for my opinion, a steadyness into the allegria of the orchestra, and for sure he would not do it without the permission of Rudolf Lutz, the brave conductor. To me, it´s a beautiful timing near to the edges of quickness. I did play big church organs as a young man. But not so virtously... ;-) Sorry for my imperfect english.
I don´t agree that the organist stole the show. He gives the rhythm in accordance with the director Rudolf Lutz. In german we would say, er treibt das Orchester etwas vor sich her. ;-)
@@Bachstiftung Yes, but how does me subscribing to RU-vid help you? Less than pennies on the dollar? I assume you have placed adds on these to make money? Though, much better, offer a subscription model for your particular organization so that the people who like your music can contribute directly and make some money for you and don't put adds in the middle of beautiful music.
